NONE BUT THE BRAVE PART 1 - Abigail and Jack are at the town square, having just gotten a treasure box chest for JJ, whom they miss. Ring ring! Jack looks at his phone and grins it is great. The best news ever! Her article for the college newspaper about sports and GPAs was so good that he secretly entered it into a journalism contest. She won! Abigail cannot believe he did that. Jack wonders if she is upset. She decides she is not. She is excited she won and never would have had the courage to submit it. She thanks her dad and they hug. She asks what she won. There will be an awards ceremony and he hopes he can accompany her. Abigail gushes she has to tell Sonny and Chad and Will. They could publicize it on their site too. She thanks him, hugs him again, then smiles perhaps he will start writing again. As she walks away, Jack places a call to Commissioner Roman. He has a favor to ask. Evidently there is someone he wishes to see ... - At the pub, Sonny wonders if Will is alright. He is. Sonny points out he must have had a great Thanksgiving, as Johnny is home. Will claims he is fine and sits at his computer. Sonny and Chad have their computers open as well and the lads are pumped. They agree it is a good thing they saved the site and found that link. Otherwise no one would want to do business with them and they have big plans! They talk about expanding until Will realizes the gambling follower is back, and under the cover of their site, the gambling is back, too! Sonny suggests they fight the hackers. Will laments he did not even see it coming. Chad suggests they get a forensic computer company to help. Will talks Trojan horse. Sonny exclaims new portals are being opened up. Chad sighs he does not know what to do. Abigail flounces over and announces she has good news. She perceives their long faces and quips who died? Chad jumps up and pretends they were just talking computer code. Abigail informs them how the article she wrote for the website won an award. They can get publicity with it. Chad retorts they do not wish to call attention to the site right now. She is baffled. The guys admit there are some bugs they need to fix. Abigail tells them to let her know when it is fixed and goes off to tell her mom about her trophy. The guys get back to discussing the problem. They will receive some attention for her award, whether they like it or not. Would it not be safest to just shut down their site, which is being used for illegal gambling? It could get ugly and no one would give them the benefit of the doubt, as one of them is a DiMera, another a Kiriakis! - At the spa, Quinn is giving his female employee advice on what to offer clients. Madison enters and criticizes the quality of his product. Kate waltzes in and suggests Madison buy some Countess Wilhelmina skin toner to cover that green envy! Madison continues to question the products Quinn is using. Kate is mighty pleased that Countess Wilhelmina is exclusive. Before Madison departs for a meeting, Kate mentions she herself had a meeting with Joel the other day about distribution. She gets sarcastic about Madison not paying attention. Madison now finds out she stole the deal from her when she was helping look for Johnny. She calls Kate a monster She is even more despicable than Sami said! Quinn walks back. Madison wants to leave him a card. He retorts he will not be using her products anytime soon, though one of his employees does like them. "But thanks for the interest." As Kate suggested, they wish to support a local business. Kate explains the public is tired of big business. She runs the company and lives in Salem. Her daughter started the company in Salem. Madison warns her about karma. Kate leers her karma sucks. Madison storms out. Quinn wonders if he should research Madison's product line more. Kate snaps that would be a mistake. Is that just her opinion or a threat? Both! She brings up the past and he assures her this is legitimate business. He takes her on a tour of the spa. Kate is most impressed by the mood music and facilities. Quinn insists he has only professionals working there. And he himself has a background in martial arts as well as physiotherapy. He puts some lotion on his hands and starts to massage her hand. He murmurs she feels tense. Kate denies it. She concedes he is good. He grins it is his pleasure to work on her. Kate wonders if he is hitting on her. - Meanwhile, Madison is at the office, on a call with Joel. She believes Kate played dirty but he apparently will not change his mind. She throws a file across the room and hits Brady as he enters. "Next time I'll knock!" says he. Madison updates him how Kate stole her deal when Johnny was gone. Brady cannot believe she did that when a family member went missing. Madison is miffed. Brady points out that the people of Salem will not care about local once they try her products. Madison complains that in Salem, she is in Kate's shadow and she does not like the view. She should leave ...! - John paces in his cell and flashes back to Marlena, how she insisted he was innocent. He was determined to protect his family. Marlena had shaken her pretty blonde head as he stated he knew what he had to do. Back to reality. Brady approaches the cell and asks how his father is. Better now that he is here. Brady is dismayed the judge gave him such a harsh sentence. John explains he will soon be moved to federal prison for good. He made this choice for his family. Brady understands and admires him for it. John dramatically declares his family means everything to him. Brady gets it. He is sorry for everything. John is sorry too. They will never get their lost time back. What he is hoping is that even while away, he and Brady will be able to work on improving their father and son relationship, by being the kind of men they want each other to be. Brady pauses. They emotionally shake on it. Brady recalls how well they worked together at Basic Black in the old days. Papa John is admittedly relieved he left the company for Titan, as all these issues came up. He has one last favor. He wants him to look after Marlena. Brady promises he will. The guard returns and informs them their time is up. John sighs. He tells his son he loves him and is proud of the man he has become. Brady loves him too. The two men get choked up and embrace through the bars. Brady departs. John's eyes fill with tears. He does pushups in his cell and is surprised to see Jack. Jack the reporter is back! He will be teaching journalism at the university. John wonders what exactly he is getting at. Jack explains the university is expecting him to publish and he knows the best stories are close to home. He wants to write an in depth piece to help John tell his story.
