Replay of them hearing sirens, Rafe getting the text that the shooter was found. Nearby EJ is on the phone, ordering his men to search high and low. Kate approaches and is relieved no one was hurt in the shooting. She is very sorry about Giovanni. Does anyone know anything? EJ uncomfortably states he does not know. She demands the truth. Did he and Stefano try and kill John! EJ stares. - Madison enters preoccupied Brady's office, desperate to prepare for a big meeting with "Joel." She cannot find Sami. Brady updates her that she is not coming in today. Madison is miffed as there is a huge meeting. Brady explains that is not his priority. "My father was nearly shot today at the pub and my nephew Johnny was there and he’s missing." She is very sorry to hear it. Brady laments no one knows what then happened to Johnny. The police have no leads and Sami is FRANTIC. He realizes he was supposed to go over files ...Madison stops him. She realizes his sister needs him and suggests he go. He thanks her. She insists family must come first. She claims she will be fine and he must go be with Sami. He touches her arm and departs. Madison sits down at a computer to find Sami's file. She is overcome when she sees pictures of little Johnny. - Roman somberly approaches the apprehended cop at the town square. Tis the same one who was responsible for John's prison beating. Sami lunges at him and screams for her son. Rafe pulls her off. Kate and EJ watch. EJ steps up and gives a dangerous look. "Where's my son? You know who I am." The disgruntled cop swears he does not know anything about Johnny DiMera and he is not lying. He would never take a kid. EJ calls him a would-be assassin. Roman believes him. They will deal with him as per procedure, but his motive seems to have been to go after John only. EJ hopes he is right. Roman takes the guy to the station with the other cops. Rafe assures Sami it will be alright. She gasps they do not know anything! EJ is soon back on his phone. Sami laments Johnny has been missing for hours. What if he cannot come back to them? Rafe promises her it will be fine. Sami exclaims a psycho could have their son! She frets about the shooter possibly working with someone. Rafe wants her to stop imagining the worst case scenario. Sami gasps her son is afraid and he must be trying to get to them. EJ approaches and informs Sami he has his men looking. Rafe questions that. EJ gets mad and Kate pulls him away. She reminds him he never answered her question. Was the phoenix involved in the attempt on John's life? EJ retorts they had nothing to do with it. Besides, if fatha had wanted John Black dead, he would be dead! Kate accepts his answer. It is possible that the cop was seeking revenge for losing his pension. However, she knows John is not the kind of person who would have done such a thing. EJ points out people are not always what they seem and she, of all people, should know! Meanwhile, Rafe questions EJ's honesty to Sami. How can they be sure he did not take Johnny? Roman reappears and the gang want to know the latest. Roman explains his men have the suspect down at the station and are questioning him. EJ loses his cool about wasting time with procedure. His son could be hurt out there! - Mayor Abe has summoned publicist Jen and Lexie outside the sealed off pub. He announces that effective immediately, he is suspending his campaign to focus his energies on finding the missing Johnny. Moments later, he goes on camera to state the man who shot John Black is now in police custody. Violence is never the answer! He holds up Johnny's photo and urges the public to contact the police if they have seen the missing child. They all pray for his safe return. Abe reminds Salemites, as their mayor, that they always reach out to each other in times of crisis. After his statement, Jen praises Abe. He has decided to go with Lexie, to be there for the family. The three head off together. - Abe, Jen, Lexie, and Brady arrive at the town square as EJ continues to blast the Commissioner. "The ineptitude of the police department boggles the mind!" Abe steps forward to defend them. EJ blames them all and angrily begs them to find his son. Sami implores them to do something. Roman snaps at EJ they are doing what they can. Sami snaps why are they doing nothing. EJ snaps because the police department is inept! Lexie tries to get her raging brother to calm down. - Kate leaves a message for Stefano about the disgruntled cop being the shooter. She wishes him well in his search for Giovanni, then runs into Madison. They are not happy to see each other, as this place is not big enough for both of them. Kate leers that she will be the last one standing. Madison quips she has other things on her mind. When she walks off, Kate muses so does she. - Rafe and Brady try to reassure frantic Sami. Jen places an arm around her and walks her to the cafe. Brady is surprised to see Madison, who decided to leave the office. - Roman now has a lead to quietly share with EJ and Rafe. A boy fitting Johnny's description was seen walking on the side of the road down by the woods. He would rather EJ not tell Sami just yet, in case she will overreact. EJ does not approve. Rafe agrees with Roman and the two saunter over to Sami. EJ mutters they are idiots. Sami is at a table with Jen and Lexie. Roman inform her he must check something out. Rafe crouches down by her. EJ promises Samantha that he will find their son if it is the last thing he does! The town clock, meanwhile, is ticking. - Madison explains to Brady she could not stop thinking about Sami and Johnny, who is the sweetest kid. Brady thinks she should talk to Sami as it would make her feel better. Meanwhile, Kate is on the phone with Joel, who was supposed to have a meeting with Madison. She suggests he stop by her new office space and coos the staff would love to give him a tour! - Brady and Madison join Sami at her table as Jen and Lexie give them their privacy. Madison sits and assures Sami she is right to try and find her son. Work may be Madison's life now, but family matters most. She knows she will find Johnny. Sami appreciates her support. However, with every passing moment it is hard to stay positive. - Roman, Rafe, and EJ bust into a deserted cabin in the woods.
