Commissioner Roman orders every unit to be involved in the search and he wants to be updated. Bo enters and laments there is no sign of Johnny. He suspects the kid is scared and in hiding. Both men of the law are painfully aware that the longer he is missing, the less chance they have of finding him alive. - In another room at the station, John is with Marlena and Austin. He blames himself for the shooting incident. Marlena begs to differ. Carrie announces she wants to file for a continuance with the court. Marlena receives a text from Roman, that there is no sign of Johnny yet. She assures John that Roman and Bo will not stop until they have found the lad. Carrie excuses herself to get the trial moved. Austin follows her. Marlena asks her to send Sami her love. Once they are gone, she calmly tells John they will find Johnny and he will be exonerated. John exclaims no more people will get hurt if he pleads guilty and so ... "My mind is made up!" Marlena points out the only way to keep the family safe is to get the charges against him dropped. He argues there is no guarantee of that. She argues he is the role model for their family and urges him to fight. He frowns is she not sick of living her life like this? Who is to say he was not in the café in Paris anyway. He will order Carrie, who works for him, to enter a guilty plea. He emotionally holds up the card Johnny gave him and vows to stop the madness before it gets worse! - EJ and Nicole run into each outside the pub, which is crawling with cops and now closed as a crime scene. EJ has just left a nervous message for Samantha. Nicole thinks he should make a statement. EJ exclaims he cannot track the kids down and he knows they were there. They must be terrified. He gets a text from Sami, who is at the station. He and Nicole take off together. - Sami is a wreck at the station. She is consoled by Rafe. Enter Roman and he sadly admits he has nothing new. Sami is distraught they went to the gathering for John in the first place. Bo arrives. So does EJ and he wants to know where the kids are. The two are with Will and Caroline. What about Johnny? "He's gone and we can't find him!" Sami cries. She gasps about the shooting and chaos that ensued. EJ is stunned that his son was present when shots were fired. Sami assures him she had him in her arms before he vanished and he was not injured at the time. EJ starts to criticize her. Rafe tells him not to go there. EJ turns his rage at the police. Bo advises him to calm down. EJ growls he will enlist his fatha's men. The cops disagree. Sami just wants them to find Johnny as he is the only one who matters! This is not the time to point fingers. The police do not want EJ to interfere with the investigation. Bo explains he understands how he feels. Roman would like to know where Johnny would go and hear his ideas. Bo snaps the first 24 hours are crucial so he must let them do their job. Nicole asks EJ for a word. They step out. Roman drawls the DiMeras cannot take over this investigation. Sami cries she wants her baby back. Rafe hugs her. Bo and Roman wonder where he might have gone. Sami gasps he might have gone home. They already know he is not there. Sami recalls his favorite little newsstand. Bo will check it out. Roman suggests Rafe take Sami home but Sami moans she wants to help find her son. - Dan shows up on Jen's doorstep. She is glad to see him. She invites him in to her warm place with the warm fire going. He appears rather uncomfortable. They discuss the shooting, the fact that Johnny DiMera is missing. Dan remembers operating on the tyke. Jen laments Sami must be beside herself. Dan admits when he heard about it, he just wanted to come over. Jen appreciates it. She is sorry she could not make it to Victor and Maggie's wedding due to the weather. She wonders if he is alright. Dan explains she is always the person he wants to talk to when something happens. She loves that. He now confesses there is indeed something wrong. He tells how he saw her and Jack kissing through the window the other day. Jen is not sure what to say and is sorry. Dan cannot imagine her with Jack, but he does not know if he is cut out for this. Jen enlightens him about Jack's tough time in Afghanistan. Dan realizes he is suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. Jen woefully states she does not know where she is. She is not yet ready to make a decision. He understands. He did not want to make her feel bad, though he is unable to keep it inside. Jen loves his honesty. She apologetically acknowledges things got crazy with Jack. Dan admits the double dating is harder in practice than theory. She wonders if he is giving up on her. No. She is relieved, for she has no intention of giving up on him! - Austin tries to talk Carrie out of remaining involved in John's case. She insists her security will be fine. He gasps they all could have been killed. Carrie thinks they will find Johnny. Austin wants her to drop the case. She walks into the office with him and they argue. She is a criminal lawyer. Austin is worried. What if the shooter had aimed at her! Carrie will protect herself as much as she can, but she will not drop this case. He declares he loves her and cannot lose her. She assures him he will not and hugs him. Austin's eyes are filled with worry. - Nicole wants EJ to cool down. He cannot attack the police department and run for mayor. She is sure Johnny will be found. In the meantime, he must prove he can hold it together even under the worst possible conditions. EJ considers. - Sami is wailing to Roman that she needs to help look for the missing Johnny. EJ returns with Nicole and agrees Samantha is right. He also apologizes for his overreaction. All is forgiven. Roman proposes to get a map and ask him and Sami to make suggestions about where they have not yet searched. Bo goes to check for an update. Rafe assures Sami everything will be fine, then kisses her, and goes to touch base with Tim at the FBI. Sami thanks EJ for backing her up. She cannot sit at home and wait for the phone to ring. EJ understands. He feels the same way. She starts to sob. EJ holds Sami in his arms as Nicole watches them. He promises they will find their son and emotionally shuts his eyes ...
