She assures him Jen is on her way. He asks about Anne. Maxine giggles she is not there yet. Meanwhile Jen is at home getting her purse ready. She gets a strange feeling and glances around. The side door is slightly open. She comes back for her keys and closes the open door but someone is lurking outside! And that someone does not reveal themselves to Jen, who rushes off to work. Back at the hospital, Abe asks Dan to check in on his old friend, who is nervous about being in hospital, Dan agrees and Abe is grateful. The sitter now arrives with Parker, who is thrilled to be there. Dan is thrilled too. Jen now arrives with Parker’s toy train, which he left at her house. Parker smiles and Dan kisses his girl a good morning. She cannot believe she overslept. Anne nosily shows up and makes a snide remark. Maxine wonders where the HR villainess has been. On personal business. The curly redhead glares icily at Dan and the fair Jen’s public display of affection. - Kristen is waiting for Father Eric at his holy desk, clad in a skintight hot pink dress. The priest arrives and cordially and coldly greets her. The she devil tries to charm him into attending her and brother Brady’s wedding. The priest starts to explain but she cuts him off. She is already aware of his hesitation, which is because of mama Marlena. He would rather not discuss. Kristen stands up in her hot pink dress and pauses at the picture of Jesus. The time has come to talk sins. She reasons she tried to make amends with Marlena and asks what is more important - the sin or owning it. Has she been absolved? Father Eric urges her to stop. She suggests he cannot be objective. He does not deny it but warns that confessions and repenting must come first, then absolution. She replies she has already confessed, but has Marlena? She has never even apologized for tearing her world apart. The priest lets her know he considers her insincere and manipulative. He will not take sides either. Kristen coyly asks if Marlena has ever apologized to anyone in the family for ruining their lives. There was Sami and Roman and also him! Eric soap stares. He insists Marlena owes him no apology and gets himself coffee. Kristen continues talking in circles. The priest is only forgiving as it is a prerequisite of his profession. She reminds him that his entire family was destroyed after Sami caught Marlena and John making love. He wants her to go. She sarcastically calls Marlena a saint and wonders whether the devil incarnate pushed her to commit adultery. At least SHE was a woman in love! She leers what Marlena wants, she gets. Eric thunders ENOUGH! Pause. He regains his composure and sits down with an apology for the outburst. Kristen teases she likes his edge. He notes priests are only human and he will not be able to attend her and Brady’s wedding, which should really be about them and God. Kristen now gets catty about his past and taunts that he cannot possibly be proud of his mother. She purrs she will save him a piece of wedding cake and waltzes out. Eric’s eyes mirror his dread. - John is trying unsuccessfully to console himself at the pub. Nicole approaches to offer her condolences about Brady marrying Kristen. She hopes he is okay. He squeezes his glass with a powerful bare hand and it shatters before him. Nicole blinks. He growls does he look okay about it! Woman in red Nicole tries to be upbeat. Perhaps all one needs is love and Brady has found love with Kristen. Victor enters and stares at the sight of John with Nicole. He flashes back to John sharing his plan to seduce Kristen so Brady would find out, Vic's dire warning that he would lose his son forever in the aftermath. Back to reality. John lists the women Brady has lost and drawls he is not in a good place. He then adds he is a big boy and he and Nicole both agree he should be happy. He steps away to see about the broken glass on the counter. Nicole stops him and wonders how he intends to thwart Kristen. Victor observes. John airily remarks no one can get through to Brady so it is a lost cause. Nicole notes father and son are equally stubborn. John pretends to have accepted that things change. Victor is still watching when Marlena walks in with Roman. John notices they look close. Marlena wonders whether it makes any difference. John’s eyes narrow. Nicole excuses herself. Marlena intervenes when John drawls he and Roman need to talk, to settle things. Cowboy Roman wants to take a walk. Marlena is unable to top the two men and laments to Victor they might kill each other. The Greek tycoon wisely suggests she leave well alone with those two. - Outside, EJ saunters up to Brady, who has just sent away the woman in the suit, who agreed to keep their meeting a secret. Brady will not reveal what he has been up to with curious suited EJ. He coldly asks whether EJ and Sami will be attending the wedding. The two ambitious men face each other and Brady growls about him being with sister Sami. EJ points out Brady and Sami have had their differences yet now he feels the need to protect her from him?! Brady brings up his beloved Kristen. EJ solemnly states he fully supports his sister Kristen. Brady does too. EJ concludes they have that in common and smiles. Brady grumbles to quit while they are ahead and will see him at the mansion. EJ chuckles that he and daddy, who is waiting, have nothing in common! - Dan hands Parker to the bubbly babysitter and asks Jen if she is free for lunch. She blushes and gushes about him giving up their restaurant tickets to Abigail and Cam. Dan kisses her, pleased to have his sweetheart back where she belongs. The medicine man now steps away with the sitter and his son. Jen steps away too. Anne the HR bitch leers Jen does not belong here and follows her into her office. She slams the door behind herself, ready to do battle. - From her office, Kristen informs Stefano on the phone that Marlena will not be attending the wedding. He chuckles there shall be no wedding. Kristen purrs she will make sure Brady finds out about her and John’s future tryst. She leers about Marlena the saint and what it will do to John as well as her. Father phoenix cackles she will break Brady’s heart. She considers that collateral damage but suddenly gets interrupted by Brady in the flesh, and he has something to say ... - Anne reminds Jenny she is supposed to uphold a code of conduct. Jen smiles she will order a mental evaluation of her, for she is far too obsessed with her personal and professional life! Anne insists she needs to tell her how to act. Enter Dan. Jen airily excuses herself to deal with a situation and dares Anne to share her view with the hospital honcho. Dan stops Anne in her tracks. She wags a crooked finger at the resident golden boy and reminds him he is not her boss. Dan counters she is not his boss or Jen’s boss and threatens to have her fired. Matter of fact, he got some interesting information from Chloe the other day, including all the things Anne did to cause trouble for Jen. Anne calls her a bitch but sighs when Dan pleasantly offers to enlighten the big boss unless she lightens up with Jen. Anne appears deflated. Jen now returns. Anne compliments her on her dress and gets back to work. Jen teases Dan she can fight her own battles. He grins they can do that together and kisses her passionately. Anne returns to the nurse’s station, fuming. Maxine asks what the problem is. Anne calls Jen a spoiled witch. She hopes someone somewhere teaches that one a lesson cos she sure has it coming. Little does she know that the teacher of the lesson is already at Horton house ...! - EJ symbolically topples the black king on the chess set. Stefano catches him in the act and asks him not to disturb the pieces in his game. EJ proceeds to complain about future brother-in-law Brady. Stefano muses it might not happen. EJ senses he knows something. Father phoenix fixes the fallen chess pieces. He claims even he cannot predict the future, EJ grins he can certainly change it. Stefano plops down on an armchair and suggests living in the moment. EJ agrees and takes his leave, a glint in his eye, a lightness in his step. Stefano does not appear to suspect a thing.
