THERE'S A NEW MAYOR IN TOWN!
- Marlena runs into Sami and Lucas in front of the pub. Sami does not understand why Bo is in a medically induced coma. Marlena explains
the medical reasons. Sami recalls the day of the attack, how papa Roman and Bo sought help at the pub. It could have been her da who was badly beaten! Lucas tries to make her feel better. Marlena greets Kayla when she enters the pub. Caroline has organized a prayer service to help Bo.
Tis a gathering of the clan. They all need to be strong. Austin arrives and is pleasantly surprised to come face to face with brother Lucas. Sami wonders where in the world Carrie is. Or Rafe, for that matter ...
- EJ is about to be sworn in as Salem's new mayor at the town square.
Jen complains to Abe that he was robbed! She is determined to get the proof they need to show he was set up and then dethrone EJ, who is
there with Kate. Nearby, Carrie and Rafe come across each other and decide to get a coffee together. They are not in the least bit interested in EJ's inauguration. She has just returned from visiting Bo. Meanwhile, Jen informs Abe she would rather not watch the sham. He is preoccupied
with the still comatose Bo. Dr. Lexie joins them and updates them on
Bo's condition. Alas, there has been no change. Jen is dismayed to discover that Lexie is actually present to offer her support to EJ, of all people! Abe is also unhappy. He gets it out of Lexie that EJ asked her to become Health Commissioner of Salem, so she can help others. He still wants her to give him a chance but she is not ready for that discussion
yet and walks away from him ... Kate praises EJ and wants him to stop thinking of Nicole. After all, he is successfully shaping the new DiMera legacy. Stefano could not attend, though he is of course extremely proud. Kate wishes EJ would cheer up. His kids soon arrive with Billie and hug him. Little Johnny is impressed with his papa! EJ happily gathers the children around, does not allow the paparazzi to take any pictures, and proceeds to tell them that he is doing this for the family legacy, for them. He tells Johnny and Sydney how much he loves them. They love him
too.
- Ian charmingly brings breakfast to Madison at her office. He claims to
be proud of her hard work. She becomes suspicious that he is acting so charitable towards her. He continues to shower her with compliments
and claims to want to fix their marriage. She suspects he is concerned about his image. She wants to be with Brady and says so repeatedly.
Ian, however, wants her on his arm for the mayoral inauguration, and orders her to wear something nice!
- Carrie and Rafe wander into the pub, where Marlena and the gang have gathered for the prayer group for Bo. Sami remarks Carrie was not at the hospital last night and bitterly deduces she and Rafe were together! Carrie insists they were not. Austin attempts to get Sami to calm down. No luck. Carrie loses her patience and snaps in front of everyone that Sami was
the one who cheated, not her! The pub is filled with a shocked silence. Marlena steps between the two battling sisters before the situation can escalate. But after Sami points out Austin cheated and it comes out that his fling was with Abigail, the shock intensifies. Lucas cannot believe that Austin slept with his (Lucas') niece. Sami is not impressed either. Austin now blurts out that at least he did not fall in love with another, like Carrie. Rafe tries to stop him from saying more. Austin refers to him as a son of
a bitch and the object of Carrie's affection. Sami calls Carrie a slut for wanting her husband! Marlena now lectures them for making it all about themselves. This gathering is only supposed to be about Bo! Besides, it is tasteless to air such things in public. They should simply be ashamed of themselves! She reminds them that Caroline always has dignity no matter how much she is hurting. Rafe apologizes to Caroline for the scene. He too prays for Bo. Kayla is concerned about Carrie, who laments Austin slept with Abigail. Kay points out that the young girl is not the one she should blame ...Lucas is disgusted that Austin had a fling with a girl who
is still practically a child. Austin assures him he too regrets his drunken actions. Lucas assumes Jack and Jen are not aware of the situation. Sami is curious how such a thing could have happened. Austin explains she was his student assistant. He has no memory of the affair. Lucas alludes to
the time Sami once drugged him. Sami would rather change the subject! She soon approaches Rafe and demands to know if he loves her sister Carrie. He snaps she does not deserve an answer after what she has
done and storms out ...
- Back at the busy town square, Mayor EJ is in fine form. He smoothly addresses the crowd. He introduces Lexie as the Health Commissioner and blasts the Maroni clan for the vicious attack on Bo and Roman of the Salem P.D. There will be justice against such criminals!
- Carrie and Rafe are standing outside the pub. He is still mad at Sami
for her lies and deception and wonders if she is already moving on with Lucas. They eventually return to the prayer group. Lucas proudly tells Austin about his beautiful fiancée. Sami insists she is happy for him, too. Kayla receives word that Bo is stable. Marlena quietly informs Sami that she wishes to speak with her following the mass. Sami blows her off. Lucas invites her for lunch, with his mom. But she is presently at EJ's inauguration. They are both baffled that he managed to win the election.
- Ian and Madison arrive at the inauguration. Ian asks about the children with Kate. Madison points out that they belong to Sami. When Billie and Madison are introduced, Kate sings Billie's praises. Ian charmingly kisses her hand. He and Madison walk off together. Billie is intrigued. Kate strongly advises her to stay away from Ian! Ian now sidles up to EJ and introduces himself, hoping to be friends. Billie and Madison agree their competition is business only, nothing personal ... Ian and Kate find themselves alone together for a moment and exchange words. She warns him to stay away from her daughter and leers she will destroy Madison once she is done with arch enemy Sami. He counters that would be a grave mistake, for he will protect what belongs to him!
- EJ now brings up the issue of Abe with Lexie. He is very glad she saw him for what he was and that he is out of her life. She reminds him that Abe is the father of her child and will always have a big place in her life. Things get intense. Abe rushes to Lexie's side and growls at EJ to leave her alone. Jen steps in before Abe can slug him. EJ sternly orders a cop
to handcuff Abe immediately. He is having him arrested for ballot tampering! Jen is stunned, and even more so when she is handcuffed as an accessory. There's a new mayor in town! EJ claims to want to rid Salem of all corruption. The pair are carted off as the media buzz round them like bees to sweet honey ...
