Episode 12,036 - As sunlight streams in to announce the morning, Rafe has a morning coffee for sleeping Kate. She stirs as he holds her in his arms, kissing her shoulders, murmuring good morning. Kate cannot believe she slept there all night, He is glad she did and kisses her back. She muses what are they doing? Then she gets serious. What are they doing? Rafe pauses. She notes he is a cop and she is Stefano's infamous ex wife. He drawls the key word is ex. He does not want to dissect this or talk feelings. Kate kisses him and agrees that might ruin it. She kisses him and they get back to their love fest. - Hope pays a visit to Gabi and Nick at the hospital and Nick announces they are getting married tomorrow. Hope forces a very strained smile. Agitated Nick reasons they already waited a whole month. Hope solemnly wonders if he told his parole officer. Nick snaps that is not his business. They state their case and invite Hope to the courthouse. She agrees to attend, kisses them both, and politely departs, though her eyes mirror her concern. Agitated Nick shuts the door with a sigh. He is losing his cool about people warning him to wait with the wedding. Gabi would like to know what is really bothering him. He seems so touchy ... - Stylish working girl Kristen is positively glowing. She visits EJ at the office, sighing she is busy with work and moving back into the mansion. He is miles away in thought and admits there is indeed something ... with Samantha. They are in the midst of a big problem. Kristen does not feel he should be surprised. EJ elaborates as much as he can. He is torn only on how to handle this scenario. She gets sarcastic. He quips this is no laughing matta. He admits someone on the outside - a nobody - is making his beloved Samantha's life a living hell. Kristen alludes to the DiMera way of dealing with pesky nobodies. - Sami goes to see her twin Father Eric at the rectory and hugs him in tears. He asks if she is okay. No! Eric wonders what it is all about. She gasps and cries but cannot say. He gets her a glass of water. Sami now takes hold of herself and presents him with the substantial check EJ had asked her to deliver for the school. Eric muses they might have to name something like a gym after him, since a chapel just would not fly with the DiMera name attached to it! Sami insists he has changed and Stefano is not around. Eric had heard Stefano is coming back. Sami insists EJ wants nothing to do with him. Eric is not certain whether to take her seriously, given how until she was recently into Rafe with the same enthusiasm. Sami drinks her water and accuses him of throwing Rafe in her face. Father Eric, however, believes he spoke the truth. He thinks she is on rebound from the hurt she felt when Rafe got angry. He is now shocked to hear that Sami and EJ are close in the biblical sense again. Sami starts to babble about trying to help Will, while Rafe is acting like a jerk. She updates Eric on Gabi's contractions caused by stress, for which she was blamed. She cannot say more but team Gabi has been ganging up on her, including Rafe. Eric remarks Rafe seems to be a passionate guy and suggests he might sometimes speak before he thinks, just like her. He urges her to give him a chance before moving on with someone like EJ. Sami grins it is too late. "I am committed to moving on with EJ and I'm really happy about it." She hugs him, airily adds she loves him, and leaves with a smile. Eric blinks. - Will wakes up in his undershirt, and he still has what Sonny said on his mind. He tells elegantly robed Sonny that Nick was really just concerned about his mom causing trouble. Sonny was thinking all night too and he knows Nick is the kinda guy who does not think gay people should be parents! Will points out that Nick understood his view on the paternity test and was accommodating in other ways too. Sonny points out Gabi did not get the paternity test. Actions speak louder than words and it appears Nick the genius has been playing Will, with his fake kindness. There have been signs, from strange behavior to rude remarks. Will glumly gets dressed and hopes Sonny is wrong cos he might have just signed his daughter over to a bigot! - At the hospital, Nick claims to Gabi that he was just worried about the baby. It took its toll. Gabi brings up his parole officer and asks if he has spoken with him. Negative cos he does not like that guy, it brings him down. Why? Cos, it reminds him of prison, a place where one is watched and suffocated and there is no privacy. He hates even thinking about it. His voice shaking, he laments there were low lives ... Gabi urges him not to shut her out. - EJ advises Kristen not to talk like that. He confesses that other option had crossed his mind, though it is not feasible as he would lose Samantha. Kristen muses she is no saint. EJ laughs and agrees. But he will not give Rafe another opportunity to get her back so he needs to continue proving he is a betta man. Kristen teases he makes good choices, like accepting her. Still, the DiMeras are born struggling with the concept of good. vs. evil. It is what makes them interesting. She kisses her brother, reminds him not to be a stranger and waltzes out in her blue leopard print dress. - Nick stares numbly and mutters he does not wish to relive his dark prison days. Gabi wants to know more, as his future wife. Nick thinks this stems from people acting like he is not good enough for her. Gabi reasons she has done questionable things too, as he well knows. Nick quietly states some know nothing about prison, and there are others who get out, then wind up back - or dead! Gabi assures him he is not like them. Nick repeats he does not want to discuss this and excuses himself to check on the status of her release forms. - Rafe and Kate are reposing in bed and he confesses he does not know why they happened. Kate teases it happened for her cos he said she was beautiful. Rafe reminds her she is. He sighs when Gabi texts him she needs him. Kate feels he should go as she could use his support, given she will have to be dealing with Sami the barracuda. He decides she is right, kisses her, and gets out of bed. Kate admires the view. - Will pulls on his socks and sighs if he makes a wrong move, Nick will send him and his father to prison. Sonny suggests he speak to lawyer Justin, who is way more lawyer than EJ. Will thinks it is too late. Sonny wishes he were wrong. Then things would work out and Will might get visitation. Will hopes for that though he appears to doubt any happy ending. - Sami walks by Rafe at the town square and he asks for a moment of her time. Gabi is going home today. Sami coldly agrees it is good news and adds she is relieved. Rafe is ready to clear the air. He realizes Sami loves the baby and suggests they put this incident behind them, no hard feelings. He wants this to work out for Gabi and Will and all involved. Sami's eyes flicker. He praises Will and also Sami, as she will want what is best for the little girl. Sami thanks him. Clueless Rafe grins about Gabi waiting and saunters off. Sami gasps he has no idea what that bastard Nick Fallon has done! - Abe and Eric are at the prison. Detective Hope arrives and informs them their man is on his way. Eric is looking forward to being a mentor, helping a lost soul turn his life around. Hope explains it is tough to get them to believe the people in the system. Therefore, it would be best if Eric sold him on the program. Hope must now step away to take a work call and Abe has a teacher's meeting. Alone, Father Eric anxiously asks God to help him help the man he is about to meet ... - Nick returns to Gabi with good news. Time to go! She hopes she did not hurt him by bringing up prison He makes light of it, claiming he is focused on his future, not the past. - Sonny and Will kiss a few times and exchange I love yous. Sonny has work and Will has studies. Once alone, Will stares longingly at his baby girl's picture, gets his keys, and goes somewhere with very purposeful steps. - A very pregnant Gabi and Nick arrive at the pub. She explains she summoned Rafe, to tell him their news. Enter Rafe. Gabi announces they are getting married tomorrow. Nick defiantly declares they will do it regardless of whether he approves. Rafe smiles tensely. - Chad the summoned makes a joke about Kristen being too cheap to hire bona fide movers. She pleasantly explains she wanted to give him a copy of the DiMera family genealogy. He heard she is moving into the house of Frankenstein and is most amused that Brady will be joining her. Chad now notes both she and EJ have someone, unlike him. He blames himself. Kristen assures the young man that he still has them and invites him to move into the mansion. "When all else fails you have your family." She goes on to ask him not to tell anyone about Brady moving in as he has yet to share that with everyone. Chad is even more amused. Kristen points out that for better or worse, she is a DiMera, just like him. Chad appreciates the effort, though he is not prepared to make a decision on any bold move. She reminds him Father comes this afternoon and will be wanting to see him - sooner rather than later ... - Suited EJ wants to get to a report when Sami returns to the office but she wants to get right to kissing him. After the kiss, he sardonically grins she is in betta spirits. She whispers she will be even more if he takes her somewhere she can scream. EJ's eyes widen and he escorts her to a grand bedroom ...
