Sami wants to know what mischief EJ is up to now. Will flippantly says he can handle it. Sami just knows he is forcing him to work for him. Lucas asks Sonny to give them a moment alone. And so he does. Lucas and Sami try to make Will see the DiMeras are bad news for him! Will points out that EJ bailed him out so he is not so bad. Lucas and Sami, however, know he had an agenda and want to know what it is. Will is not forthcoming. They urge him to stop working for EJ but Will laments he cannot. Sami whispers he must be still holding it over his head. He is still using the shooting against him! Lucas is sure they can do something. Will smirks he can handle EJ. They sit and talk. Papa Lucas ominously wonders what will happen when EJ decides he has no more use for him. Will reasons the job will look good on his resume. Lucas would rather he focus on school and wishes he would not grow up so fast. Will quips he had no choice. Sami acknowledges the potshot and assures him they are sincere in wanting to help. Will smoothly repeats he knows how to deal with the likes of EJ. Before they can stop him, he insists they are done, says not to worry, and walks off. Sami is exasperated. They have to do something to help their son! Lucas sighs. Sami is determined to take action. Lucas implores her not to go off and confront EJ by herself. They do things as a team. She suddenly states she has meetings. He kisses her, promises he will see her at home, and walks off. Sami immediately calls the office and cancels all of her meetings for the day! - Rafe runs into Nicole at the pub and wants her to confess that she and Daniel switched the DNA test results. She warns it would be best if he not know the details, but he warns it would be dangerous if EJ came after her. He will protect her and the baby. However, he suspects EJ will demand another DNA test. Right now, she insists, he has no claim on her baby. EJ saunters up and alludes to the fact that it is a temporary situation. He sarcastically notes they were discussing him and the baby and taunts there seems to be some stress in the air. Not good for the baby. Nicole smugly retorts he has no claim on her baby so she is feeling better than ever and goes to order a lot of food. EJ sits to get an update on Stefano’s investigation from Rafe. Reluctant Rafe will only say the investigation continues. EJ would like to know whether he has any new suspects. Rafe quips he cannot discuss that with a suspect! EJ reasons he has close ties to all the suspects. Enter ISA Spencer, who presses EJ to finally share all he knows! EJ muses he is following the Salem P.D. down the same tired road which wrongly lists him as a suspect. Spencer reminds him he has not been cooperative thus far. EJ insists he loved his fatha. Rafe scoffs he disinherited him. EJ coldly states he happens to be the mayor and if there is any slander, libel there shall be hell to pay! He decides the conversation is over and exits. Outside the pub, he gets busy with his phone. Nicole follows him outside and announces she must tell him something. She offers him her condolences over losing Lexie. EJ thanks her. He adds he has lost two members of his immediate family and has no intention of losing his child as well. She starts to mention the DNA test but he is not interested. He now gets a call from the hospital administrator. Nicole’s eyes widen in horror. She is visibly relieved to hear he was planning to make a memorial contribution for his sister. How nice. He drawls family means everything to him. Therefore, she should accept the inevitable. There is nothing she can do to keep him from this child. NOTHING. Nicole cringes. - Inside the pub, Rafe and Spencer discuss the possibility of the killer having worn gloves. Spencer assumes Rafe is still focusing on EJ. Rafe grumbles EJ would have nothing if Stefano were still alive and he is the only one capable of such a cold-blooded crime! Besides, he is refusing to be interviewed. Spencer notes these are all just theories. Nothing concrete has been found. Rafe realizes they should really search his other place of residence - the apartment across from Sami! - Will is sitting outside alone on the town square steps. Concerned pal Sonny gets comfy opposite him him and asks how it went with his folks. Will updates him on them worrying he cannot handle EJ and working for him. Sonny thinks they might be right! He is aware of what EJ did to his family. Will assures him he will be free as soon as he can level the playing field. Will’s eyes soften when Sonny states he is just worried and wants him to be careful so nothing happens to him. - EJ returns to his apartment and checks his mail. Sami knocks at the door, refers to him as a psychopath, and demands he leave her son alone! EJ insists he was doing him a favor when he bailed him out. Sami gasps she thought he had real human emotions. EJ assures her his concern for Will is genuine. And the lad likes working for him. Sami exclaims he was just publicly outed. Why does he not let him deal with those issues first! EJ complains he has his own issues. His fatha and sister just died so she should consider his issues before digging her claws into him again! He exclaims it was a devastating blow to lose his fatha! She is not the only one suffering. Sami understands how much he cared for Lexie too and can only imagine how he feels. He complains she has now made him feel worse. She suddenly whispers she is sorry for his loss. - Will stands up from the stairs and remarks he has stuff to do for EJ. He suggests he and Sonny catch a movie later. Sonny is all for it. Lucas approaches and would like a word. Will promises they can talk later and departs. Will asks Sonny of he knows about this situation. Sonny explains Will assured him he could handle EJ. He speaks of Will’s coming out and recalls his own. Now he and Victor are closer than ever. Lucas wonders if he has any advice so he can make it easier for his son. Sonny suggests he continue being supportive and let him know nothing has changed for him. Lucas nods. He is about to ask Sonny a very personal question ... - Spencer feels it would be a hard sell to get a search warrant for EJ’s apartment. Rafe insists. Spencer steps away to make some calls. Rafe rejoins Nicole at her table and is sorry to hear EJ will not give up on her baby. She laments he said he would not back down.
