Eerie music is heard as stalker Andy follows her. Mel ends up in a dark alley and snaps she knows someone is following her. She demands they face her or leave her alone. Within seconds, masked Andy has grabbed her and she tries to scream. - Chad explains to Gabi he must apologize to his girl in person to make things right. Gabi stops him and insists she needs space but Chad insists he will find her and departs. Gabi tags after him. The pair end up in the alley, where the stalker is holding horrified Mel with chloroform to her face. He drags her behind a bin. Chad hears a sound and wonders what it was but does not bother to investigate. Gabi wants them to keep walking. They do. Andy gasps and calls the now unconscious Mel a little bitch. - At the Carver house, Lexie takes a sip from her glass with a straw, her hands shaking. She puts them down with a sigh, perspiring. Enter Abe, with a picnic basket. He wants them to enjoy dinner at the arboretum. Lexie has dark circles under her eyes and gasps she is not up for it. Abe sits beside her on the sofa and pleasantly says to name whatever she wants to do. She slides back into his arms and sighs she just wants to remain like this. They venture out to the garden together, surrounded by beautiful flowers. Abe helps her to the bench. She weakly says she loves this place for it reminds her of him, the summer they bought the house. He worked to make this her dream garden. Abe grins it was worth it just to see the smile on her face. She smiles feebly and whispers “Thank you honey. Thank you for always putting me first.” Abe gets choked up and thanks her for choosing him. He strokes her cheek and kisses her face, then her hands. She blinks at him with her tired eyes. - At the pub, Sami has a meeting with lawyer Justin and stammers he can make a recommendation for Will or just put together a team. Justin informs her they are already working with someone. Sami now stares as Carrie enters, apologizing for her tardiness. She realizes that Justin wants her in on the case. Justin argues she is capable in criminal law and loves the family. Sami gets sarcastic. Justin steps away so they can talk. Carrie understands that they have had issues. Sami blasts her for her lack of judgment. Carrie is sorry about what happened with Rafe. However, she only wants what is best for Will. Sami accuses her of being in bed with the cops – literally! Carrie argues she will be able to convince the jury there is reasonable doubt but Sami does not want a trial. She must prove his innocence now! Carrie brings up Will having any motive but Sami gets madder. Justin comes back and wants to know the verdict. Carrie insists she can prove Will is innocent so Sami gives her the job after all. - Billie waltzes into the station to help out Rafe and announces that EJ is the killer. She is convinced that EJ stole John’s pension fund money and Stefano in turn stole it from him. He wonders if the father and son duo were in fact working together. Billie updates Rafe on the fact that EJ had no idea Stefano had taken it. Rafe raises his eyebrows. Still, they would need proof. Billie declares she will get it, for she does like a challenge! - At the mansion, EJ returns from a business call but Will, sitting at the chess set, still wants an answer. EJ drawls he has some nerve thinking he would kill his fatha. Will is sorry but his future is on the line and he wants answers. He seems to have had the biggest reason to kill Stefano. EJ reminds him that others, including himself and Marlena, also had motive. Will assures him he only wants the truth. “Did you shoot him or not?” EJ impatiently signs a document at his desk, then points out he would not have bailed out the main suspect who could have taken the heat. He warns him that if he does not watch his step, he could still end up in prison. It happens to innocent people all the time! He places an arm around him and offers to help, though first William must tell him exactly what happened the night of the shooting. And they both know there were certain things he did not share with the police … - Justin meets Carrie and Sami at the station and explains there has been a change. Roman is no longer leading the investigation. Rafe enters with a swagger. “I am!” Carrie is not surprised. Sami accuses Carrie of already knowing that Rafe was on the job … - Back at the town square, Gabi thinks they will not find Mel anywhere. Chad takes out his phone and places frantic a call to her. Andy looks at the ringing phone and smirks. His prisoner, the now sleeping Mel, is not able to come to the phone right now, he quietly taunts.
