Lexie Dies, Will's Galibi, and more - Part 2

- Abe and Lexie are lying on a blanket admiring the clouds, holding hands. They remember the good times. Abe informs her he picked up some seedlings and would need her magical green thumb to make them bloom. Lexie gets a faraway look in her eye. She and Abe sit up and he speaks of helping Theo with his bike training wheels. She calls him an amazing father and assures him he will do just fine. He whispers if he makes a mistake, what will he do when she is not there to fix it? Lexie smiles he will make mistakes as a parent like she did, but he has family around him, including EJ and her mother and Cameron. Abe holds her close and promises he will do all in his power to make her proud. She kisses him and insists he already does. “You make me proud every day.”
- Justin suggests they all focus on proving Will’s innocence. Sami gets snarky about the star-crossed lovers and walks out. Justin exits as well. Once they are alone, Carrie offers to step down but Rafe insists Will
needs her help. Besides, they are both professionals. They agree they
can handle this.
- Chad gets testy with Gabi that he needs to apologize. Gabi reminds
him he also yelled at Will. Chad now decides to call him. Will picks up
his phone at the mansion and replies this is not a good time. Chad hastily apologizes, for he knows he had nothing to do with his father’s death. Will thanks him and wants to end the call. Chad wonders whether he has seen Melanie. Negative. He asks him to tell her he is looking for her if he does. Gabi now assures Chad that Mel is probably being a drama queen. Things will be fine in the morning.
- In the secret room in stalker-for-hire-turned-loon Andy’s basement,
the prisoner remains unconscious on the bed. The stalker reads another desperate text from Chad to call her. He promptly deletes it. He leaves the room as Mel starts to stir, taking her phone. She sits up in the bed
of the dingy room. “Oh my God. Where the hell am I!”
- Will toys with the chess set and has just finished telling EJ what he did that night. EJ notes he did not share all of this information with Roman. And these are serious charges indeed! Will gasps he cannot tell Roman this. EJ stands up, elegantly pours a good stiff drink, and offers to help
him. Will sarcastically wonders if he wants to hold it over him. Negative. He believes he is not a bad person, just a foolish one. Will anxiously wonders what he should do. He must do exactly as he tells him …
- Rafe and Carrie go over the case. She thinks Will really had no motive and is also worried about Rafe. He insists he is fine. She hopes he will be objective and  not get himself fired again. He will not. They get back to the case. Rafe feels there is a missing piece to this puzzle and they simply must find it.
- Abe suggests renewing his wedding vows with Lexie, unable to accept that the woman he loves is slipping away. She cries about how romantic he is and agrees, tears rolling down her cheeks. She loves him so much and nothing would make her happier. Abe murmurs that she makes him happy. He is so lucky to have her. She feels the same way. She reaches up to touch his face. “I love you so much.” Abe thinks they should go attend to dinner but she would rather stay outside until it is dark and count all the stars in the sky. Abe agrees, his arm around her. She smiles and rests her small face on his chest. Abe closes his crying eyes. They
reaffirm their love.
- Mel bangs on the door and demands to be let out. Outside, Andy plays with her phone and mutters no one will come to her rescue. Moments later. Chad receives an email he believes to be from Mel. Gabi wants to know what it says. Chad is upset. Gabi reads Mel’s message that they should take a break. She is en route to Europe to be with her mother
and wants to be left alone, no calls, no texts. Chad is devastated. Gabi considers. Chad sends a return message, begging her not to leave and to please call him. Back at his place, Andy takes apart the phone. “Sorry Chad, but she’s already moved on!” Mel sits on the floor of the secret room and covers her face with her hands. Andy silently opens the peep hole and peers inside.
- Chad is crushed. Gabi advises him to give Mel some space.
- Sami returns to Carrie and Rafe and wants to know if Carrie got the charges dropped. Not yet. Sami accuses her of flirting with Rafe, who tries to stop the fighting. All of a sudden, Neil enters bearing news. He has read a man was killed and Will was accused, which is preposterous. He informs Rafe that Will could not have done it, for he was with him that night from 11:30 pm  to 1:30 am. Rafe greatly appreciates the information, for midnight was the time of the shooting. Neil adds he was at the Spot and others saw them. Rafe looks up from his notes. “You mean the
gay bar?”
- Will slams down his drink and insists he cannot do this. EJ reminds the lad the odds are stacked against him. In the eyes of the jury, he would certainly appear guilty. Will laments it will not be easy. EJ understands. However, what he is about to do will save his life …
- Abe continues talking to Lexie. It is getting chilly so he ought to fetch another blanket. No answer. Only distant chimes and chirping birds are heard.  Abe asks her to wake up but alas she does not. He cradles her peaceful face and cries for his sweetheart to wake up. “Oh God!” he
sobs uncontrollably, clutching the love of his life, who has left the
earth. Lexie has tragically died …
