Episode 12,102 - At the town square, Kristen and Nicole are about to engage in the battle for Brady! They are shoving and insulting each other when a girl wonders if she should call the cops. Negative. Nicole wants Kristen to get something straight, though! EJ and Brady may have believed she changed but ... Kristen accuses her of being a hypocrite, as she has as bad a history as her. Nicole boasts there is one difference. Brady has always been on her side for she has always been honest with him. He loathes nothing more than deception! Kristen accuses Nicole of using him to forget a certain man of God and threatens to expose her lust for Father Eric. Nicole dares her to do it and gets closer to her face. She leers she is not going anywhere! Matter of fact, she and Brady are always friends, sometimes with benefits too. Kristen glares at her and calls her sick. Nicole taunts she lost Brady forever, whereas she is available for Brady. One thing is certain. He will NEVER go back to his almost DiMera bride! Kristen suddenly slaps her hard. Nicole slaps her harder. The handbags are thrown down and the two hellcats grab each other in a struggle. - At the rectory, peaceful Father Eric is leaving a message for Brady, who happens to be standing behind him! The priest is pleased to see him. Brady is there to apologize. He should not have been a moody jerk and concedes Eric was right about Kristen on most counts. Eric assures him he too has made mistakes and refuses to let him insult himself. Brady is sorry. Eric grins he knows and informs him he loves him like a brother. Brady hugs him. Eric encourages him to forgive himself. Brady bitterly notes he was unfair to Marlena and others. He was a fool! The priest points out he was still grieving and he blames Kristen. Unshaven Brady, however, is hard on himself and remains upset about papa John’s involvement. He refuses to share the details, however. The two brothers are good again when Brady exits. Eric is visibly relieved. - Outside the pub, in the night, John cries as he confesses to Marlena that his feelings for Kristen never died. She slaps him and he whispers he deserved that. She thinks he deserves more and calls him a bastard for destroying their relationship. Once upon a time she expressed her worry that Kristen was out for revenge and he dismissed her. Yet she was proven right in her fear that Kristen was hell bent on destroying them and all the while he insisted he only felt hatred for her. But it was a bold faced lie! He was lying to her and she was desperate enough to believe him! John is unable to meet her gaze as she recounts how empty she felt inside. He, on the other hand, actually forgave her kidnapper, her almost killer! She realizes she did not tell him about Kristen and Brady in the first place, which upset him, and now is convinced she was right not to trust him! John gives her a woeful glance. He regrets he hurt her but he had to do it for Brady. Marlena reminds him he just admitted he still harbored feelings for Kristen. He starts to say he is sorry again and she rages so is she! She was filled with grief over hurting him but he is just like Kristen. Matter of fact, he is even worse! After everything, she never thought their relationship would end like this. She cries she is DONE and walks away, her blonde head held high. John fights back the tears, tough guy that he is. - Kate visits pink Gabi in her hospital room and notes her unhappy demeanor. The girl is overwhelmed about tomorrow. Kate assures her she will get her happy ending. - Stefano stares out into the dark night holding his brandy and flashes back to his macabre instructions, a smug grin on his Mediterranean face. - EJ arrives at the hospital to see Samantha. Maxine lets him know she is visiting Rafe. Pause. We now go back in time, to view what transpired in the seconds before the shooting. Sami was in the bathroom connected to Rafe’s private room, searching for aspirin in her bag. That was when she took out her gun. Then when she looked out and spied the sinister slicer raising his weapon to cut Rafe so she shot him. Post shooting ... Dr. Kayla and EJ race into the room. Kayla orders Sami to put the gun down. EJ asks wot happened. Sami gasps in shock. Maxine rushes in too. Gabi and Kate follow. Kayla tries to revive the fallen assassin. EJ ushers Samantha outside, into a chair, and quietly tells his stunned beloved to give him the gun! He takes the gun as she gasps he was going to kill Rafe and cries. EJ now hands it to the waiting security man and warns Samantha to stop talking. He barks for medical attention as the bleeding shooter is wheeled out. Kate observes as EJ suggests his beloved breathe. Kate laments they already know who is responsible! EJ disagrees and walks hyperventilating Sami away. Gabi stands by Kate and nervously wonders who would have tried to kill Rafe. Kate is silent. The security guard tells Gabi not to touch anything. She wonders where Sami got the gun. Kate admits she gave it to her. Hope and Abe now arrive from the coffee house, where Hope got the call about the shooting. What happened? Kate informs them that Sami shot the man who was trying to kill Rafe! Meanwhile, at DiMera mansion, Stefano listens to his opera, playing the role of the conductor, his expression almost euphoric. - EJ takes Sami into another room, sits her down, gets her water, and urges her to tell him wot happened. She cries that man was going to kill Rafe so she had to protect him. She had to! - Father Eric is working the phone, anxious to save the school. He grumbles he would even go to the capital to do it and storms out with his files. - Nicole yanks some of Kristen’s tussled hair from her head. Kristen grabs at her hair in retaliation. Brady appears and breaks it up. He is not in the least bit amused. - Kate and Gabi have just updated Abe and Hope on what they know. CSI is present. Hope orders them to look for a missing weapon. Hope wonders whether anyone heard Sami cry for help. Negative. The detective now advises Kate and Gabi not to touch anything in the room. She promises the worried sister they will soon have Rafe moved. - Sami whispers to EJ that she heard what Kate implied, that his father must have been behind the attack. EJ silences her about that. He would rather she explain why she came to Rafe’s room in the first place. She snaps would he be happier had she not come?! Along come Hope and Abe. They want answers. - Stefano gets a call at the dark mansion, assuming someone has his souvenir. "What? NO!" - EJ suggests Hope not blame the DiMeras. Hope notes that is what Sami already did. EJ explodes and wants to leave with his fiancée. Hope and Abe, however, want to continue their investigation. Hope presses Sami to talk. EJ thinks she should not speak without her attorney present. Hope points out he is an attorney. Sami announces she does want to talk, convinced she has done nothing wrong. She is unaware of the intricacies of the law. Abe returns to Kayla, who gives him something that was found on the victim, who is still in OR. Abe notes the shooting was at close range. But what Kayla has given him has just made this a very serious matter indeed. - Kate reminds Gabi that her daughter needs her and takes her to Maxine to relax. Glamorous Kate now excuses herself as there is something she needs to take care of in person. And so she ventures straight into the lion's den ...!
