He turns with coffee in hand and perceives Nicole. The slinky ex in the purple dress notes it is not exactly champagne. She remarks his impressive defeat of Stefano is fleeting. It will never last! He smirks and calls her queen of the backhanded compliments. She calls him Machiavellian, almost demonic. He thanks her. She deduces he did not tell Sami of his power play until it was a fait accompli and wonders how Kristen reacted. EJ smirks. She goes on to suggest that if Stefano does not hit back, his daughter Kristen will do it for him! Suited EJ charmingly notes she is being influenced by Brady, whose heart was broken by Kristen, who then got her own heart broken by him. Such is love. Nicole asks him to remind Sami not to try and make Eric’s grand event today her own show, in her usual manner. EJ stops her from leaving and wants to ask a question. It concerns him and fatha. - At Horton house, JJ is showing Rory his cool brand new running shoes, the bottom even glows in the dark. He seems to think the drug money is done, given Abe and his boys are almost onto them. Abigail comes downstairs and demands to know how he got the cash for such costly shoes! He lies they are Rory’s and hands the bag to him. Rory calls them a gift for his mom. Abigail suspiciously wonders why they are not in class. JJ claims the teacher has the flu. Does mom know? Indeed and he snaps to back off. Abigail notes the running shoes cost 500 bucks. She needs to talk to JJ alone! Rory goes to the kitchen for a coke. Abigail wants to talk Daniel. JJ would rather not. He drawls that is a case closed. Abigail snaps that all his mischief led their mom and Dan to take a break. He argues it is not his fault. She calls him a selfish jerk. He snaps the doctor is no freakin saint, he is a creep and their mom can do better! Abigail explains the medicine man makes their mom happy even though he is not their dad. JJ accuses her of putting Jack out of her mind, just like their mom has done. The girl gets teary eyed and admits it hurts that she lost her dad and now her brother, whom she no longer knows. Jack would not recognize the person he has become either! - Theresa is clad in a bright dress, listening to music at her desk. She makes light of it when boss lady Jen gets mad and lists all the work she was supposed to do. The girl quips she is doing her best but Jen knows better! She accuses her of playing instead of showing initiative. Theresa scoffs she did answer the phone and complains she does not like the job. She is not middle aged and would rather not waste her youth here. Jen wonders what she wants to do. Something creative and fun. Jen quips her "fun" was what landed her in this job! Theresa laments Kayla must have been gossiping. Jen knows not the details, however. She stops her from quitting. The girl gets testy when she brings up her parents, what they would think. Jen suspects she is trying to get fired. Theresa suddenly gets the demeanor of a lost little girl, apologizes, and assures her she does need this job. Jen puts more files in her bag to take home. Theresa now complains that her mom overnighted a gift to Eric and she has to go and give it to him in person. Jen states it is fine if she goes, but she knows exactly how long it takes to go to St. Luke's church and back! When she returns, she can get back to work. Theresa agrees. Jen departs. The bored girl feels sorry for herself. - Shirtless jogging Dan finds unshaven Brady alone by the lake, deep in thought. He admits he is troubled. Dan pulls his shirt on and Brady explains he was sure but is no longer sure. Daniel deduces it concerns Kristen. Brady admits he saw her and took her suggestion that he seek the truth from John. Now his universe makes no sense! Perhaps the new sure is the not so sure! Brady tells his friend the tale of John supporting Kristen’s story as waves are heard lapping up at the shore, birds chirping. Brady remains baffled. Kristen, it turned out, was telling the truth. She pulled away from John as she had fallen in love with him for real! Dan thinks only his opinion should matter to him. - Devil with the blues dress Kristen DiMera makes a comment at EJ and Sami’s not so subtle portrait hanging at the mansion. She thanks God when her phone rings. - Father Eric the golden boy is with Father Matt, a certain monseigneur, and his eminence the bishop at the new school. Kristen gets the bishop on the phone and requests a private meeting. She has the damning sex video of the perfect priest in front of her. She alludes to needing to meet with him for it is the right thing to do. The entire future of the new school is at stake! She reminds the bewildered bishop she was also on the board. He is aware of it, not to mention the standing of the DiMera family with the parish. He informs her he will touring the school grounds prior to the reception today. She thanks him, promises to see him soon, downloads the video on her tablet and throws open the front door. There stands John, who peers at her dubiously. Kristen is startled. He saunters in and growls to stay away from his son! Meanwhile, the bishop sends the monseigneur out with Father Matt. Eric hopes all is well. His eminence thanks him personally for his incredible work. He is putting an honorable face on the priesthood and soon everyone will know who he is, what he has done! Eric grins. Neither suspects a thing. - Eric is back at his rectory office when Theresa stops by to give him Kim’s gift. He opens the box and thanks her profusely for delivering grandpa Shawn’s bible! He is overwhelmed. Theresa calls his work with the school impressive and starts to leave. The priest sits her down and asks how she is. She admits there has been an adjustment. He invites her to the celebratory mass as the family will be present. Theresa reminds him she has to get back to work and adds religion is not her thing. He understands. She solemnly states her family mass is not gonna happen, her eyes filled with turmoil. And she cannot believe all that Eric had to give up to become a priest. He does not mind. Theresa quips she will not be hanging around the family much either. A frown creases Eric's holy brow. He assumed her family sent her here to spend time with family. She wonders what her parents told everyone. Eric pauses and assures her they love her and are happy to have her here. Theresa takes her leave and looks down at the last remaining joint she has from JJ. - Brady crouches down with Dan. He will either forgive Kristen or not forgive her. Dan suggests he will eventually have to deal with the past hurt. He now drinks some water and decides to bring Parker to the lake later. Brady asks about Jen. Dan sighs he is not sure how they are. Her son comes first. He must get to a patient, wishes Brady luck, shakes his hand, and goes on his way. Brady considers. - Kristen flat out refuses to obey John’s order and tries to kick him out. John drawls Brady asked him what happened that fateful night. Kristen pauses. Did he by any chance tell him the truth? - Jen returns home. JJ jumps up and recalls how they used to run with Jack in London’s Hyde Park. Perhaps he can run with her sometime. Pigtailed Jen agrees it would be great and starts to leave for her jog. She now spies the expensive running shoes sticking conspicuously out of the box. - EJ invites Nicole to sit with him and help him crack the code of what Stefano might do next. Nicole notes Stefano is smarter and that is why he always ends up with egg on his face. As long as the phoenix is alive, he is doomed to remain in his shadow. EJ insists he did it right this time. He meticulously planned his attack and struck hard and with precision. The phoenix shall not rise again. Nicole gives him a pitying glance, since he actually seems to believe it ….
