Episode 12,009 - Daniel has Parker at his pad and assures Chloe over the phone he is fine now. Chloe smiles he knows he is his daddy. Dan mentions that Maggie will be with him soon. Chloe promises to come after her errands (she is at the hospital). Dan the man now lifts happy Parker and carries him to the door, but the knocking visitor is Nicole bearing a gift, not Maggie. She smiles sheepishly. - Jen is working at her desk, surprised when Chloe pays her a totally unannounced visit. She wants to talk - about Parker and Daniel, she claims. Jen appears tense. What does she wish to say? Chloe admires a framed picture and muses she must miss Jack. Jen takes the picture back. Chloe explains she knows how much they meant to each other. It makes her wonder about Jen and Dan. Is he just a transition to help her get over losing Jack? Jen insists she knows her feelings. Chloe points out Parker would be hurt and confused if he got to know her and then she and Dan broke up. Jen stands up and snaps her motive here has nothing to do with Parker. Chloe plays innocent. Jen pours herself coffee and suggests Chloe is not as accepting of her and Daniel as she pretends. Chloe suddenly says she will clear the air. - The board meeting at the church was cancelled by Father Eric so he can now tell Brady and Kristen the following. It would be naive after their public affair and the fight hot head Brady had with John to assume they could work together. Therefore it is not gonna happen! Brady growls they will lose money. Kristen offers to resign so Brady can stay and urges them to work this out. She walks out. Brady growls he will not be on the board without Kristen. Eric retorts that is fine cos he does not think he could ever work with him on anything, given how he conducts his life! - John summons Marlena to the coffee house with the very shocking announcement that he is leaving town today. “Today?” she gasps. He claims to have meetings in Paris, in Milan. She accuses him of running away. He admits he wants to come up with a way to break up his son and that evil woman while away and plans to stick around Italy a while. Marlena thinks it is because she did not tell him about Brady and Kristen. He reminds her she let the woman almost destroy his son. And it bothers him she still has little faith in him! Marlena is concerned he is leaving her alone to protect the family from evil Kristen. John advises her to let it go cos the woman is only into mind games now, there is no physical threat. Marlena runs after him when he starts to go. They kiss passionately, their eyes filled with pain, as melancholy piano music is heard in the background. - Parker plays with Nicole’s present. She admits she did not realize the little one would be here. Dan perceives she is overwhelmed, having been reminded of her own loss. She is sad about all she lost and blames only herself. Daniel does not want her to talk like that. She cries about even trying to keep him and Jen apart. He assures her she will find someone. Nicole believes she did but failed in convincing him she was right for him. Dan is sincerely sorry. She now asks about Jen reacting to his son. Well. And Chloe? Dan notes Jen understands he and Chloe are over and they are. Nicole’s guilty conscience suddenly decides there is something he needs to know ... Knock knock! Maggie is at the door! She is elated to see her son and grandson, but frowns at Nicole, who decides to leave. Dan reminds her she wanted to tell him something. It was not so important ... She praises him as a father, and runs out in tears. - Later on, Maggie has just put Parker down for a sleep, after placing pillows around him. Dan sighs he has much to learn as Park had a melt down with him. Maggie urges him to be patient. Dan is upset he missed out on two whole years of the lad’s life. The redhead reminds him he got him back. Dan noticed he wanted to be with Maggie more and is devastated he is still a stranger to his own son. - Nicole runs into Father Matt at the town square and he praises her for her fine work at the church. He suspects she needs a friend and sits with her to listen to her woes. She opens up about her former boyfriend dating a self-righteous annoying woman who is dull. Matt notes the friend might not feel the same way. Nicole now informs him that another woman is scheming to break them up. Matt perceives Nicole still harbors some feelings for the man. She admits she might but is torn over what she should do. Tell him about the schemer or sit back and wait for the dull girl to lose? Matt advises her to do nothing, for it is not her business. Nicole appears surprised but heeds his words. - Brady and Eric argue about Kristen. Eric calls the situation tacky, not to mention that Brady’s behavior with his father reflects poorly on the Church. Brady implies he is too sanctimonious. Eric disagrees. But if it were up to him, Kristen would never even have been allowed on the board! She tried to kill his mother! Brady snaps she paid for that and is sorry. Exasperated Eric exclaims Brady is unable to see reality anymore. This is affecting this whole family! His parents have had to put him back together so many times and now he repays them with this selfishness. Their marriage is falling apart because of this! Brady accuses Eric of not being priestly and leaves in a huff. - Outside the coffee house window Kristen observes Marlena and John kiss, after which doc begs him not to go, for she has a terrible feeling. He drawls he knows not what lies ahead but will be back. She gasps she will hold him to it. Exit John. Marlena takes a deep breath, steadies herself, and sits down in tears. Kristen jumps up and down with glee and runs off like a loon. - Maggie proceeds to give Daniel the dad a pep talk. He had a good childhood even though it was without her. They now have a wonderful relationship, just as he and Parker will. He muses she always knows just what to say. He is lucky indeed to have her! - Chloe concedes she is unhappy her marriage to Dan ended but assures Jen she is happy for them now. However, she was hiding something. She was forced into becoming a prostitute for a short period before she left Salem. Jen already knows and tries to stop her but Chloe wishes to tell her the whole sad story. Jen insists she will not hold it against her. Chloe thanks her. She wishes she had been stronger and fought back. It was so crazy that she let others ruin the best thing that ever happened to her. If Daniel had known Parker was his son, they might have been able to work things out. Dan would have tried for the sake of their son but he turned and walked away. Jen wants to know what she is getting at. Chloe refers to Jen’s goodness and mentions doing the right thing. Jen realizes she is saying the right thing would be for her to give up Daniel. Chloe claims her only concern is Parker. She had heard that Jen asked for the number of Child Protective Services and that worried her. Jen denies it. Chloe acts afraid Jen wanted to have Parker taken away from her. Before Jen can explain, she is interrupted as the hospital administrator wishes to see her. Chloe departs after asking her to think about what she said. Jen is dismayed. Chloe is triumphant and she has something in store for Dan next ... - Father Matt pleasantly suggests Nicole focus on doing some good for someone else. She agrees that is a good idea. Surely they will be able to find her some noble cause ... - Kristen catches up with John at the town gate and taunts him about his poignant scene with Marlena. Was it legit? Is he really leaving town? Only long enough come up with a way to make his son see her for the monster she really is. Kristen now taunts him about trouble in paradise between him and his fair Marlena. He snarls to go ta hell. She giggles he can get there first. John scoffs and saunters off. Kristen tells herself that her revenge is sweet. She must now update Stefano on her progress ... - Back at the rectory, secretary Nicole has Father Eric’s mail for him and also hands him his collar. He sighs he needed a break and puts it back on, updating her on asking Brady and Kristen to resign from their board. He will not have them using the Church to make their tawdry relationship seem respectable. Nicole appreciates his frankness. The priest is feeling the pressure of the problem. He complains that Brady actually believes Kristen has changed. He is getting played and Kristen all but confessed it to John! He cannot imagine what effect it will have on Brady and now John and Marlena are separated. How can one woman tear a family apart? - John runs into flower bearing Brady at the town square and tells him of his run-in with Kristen. He adds he is going to Europe and will be back after figuring out a way to get through to him about the she devil. Brady leers it will not even happen so there is no need for him to ever come home, at least not for his sake. - John still has one more stop to make, one more goodbye, one more request on his list ...
