THIS EPISODE WAS TWEETED ONE HOUR AHEAD BY DAYSCAFE :) HOT AND COLD! - Replay of cowboy John kicking in the door, raging at Brady to step away from the she devil! Kristen acts scared. Brady stares. John calls his son a damn fool! Brady wishes to explain. John thunders she is only using him to get back at HIM. She is nothing but a lying manipulative … Brady defends her. Marlena declares John is right. Their relationship is a lie. - Will enters the coffee house with Sonny and puts his arm around him. They stare as EJ angrily fights off Nicole. Sonny notes maybe Sami’s date with him did not go so well. EJ is livid. Nicole slurs to take a chill pill. Will asks about his mom. EJ complains she was waiting for him when this one came along in her drunken state! He only wanted to pick up the champagne. He storms off and Nicole boasts about her highly successful diversion maneuver. Sonny forces a polite nod. - At the town square party, after their midnight kiss, Sami gazes at Rafe who gazes at Sami. Gabi flounces toward them with Nick in tow, gushing about her wedding party dresses. Sami is flustered. Rafe is grinning. Sami explains her date is EJ. Rafe adds no way … EJ suddenly rushes up, apologizes for his tardiness, and dips Sami in an old fashioned passionate kiss, which she returns. The crowd watches. So does Rafe. Sami blushes when EJ brings her back up for air. He is sorry for the impulse, then wishes Nick and Gabi well with their wedding. Has a date been set yet? Soon. EJ grins he knows Sami can make it happen if anyone can. Rafe agrees and decides to depart with Nick and Gabi. He takes one last look at Sami and disappears from view. Sami asks what took EJ so long. He will only say he was waylaid by wanton Nicole, who almost seemed hell bent on keeping him away from her. And she was sloshed. Sami flashes back to having seen her sober before and pensively sips her champagne, wondering. EJ charmingly hopes she is not mad. She quietly alludes to New Year’s Eve representing the year to come. EJ now gets a call from Beijing. He must take care of something and asks her to come with him to the office. Then, once he has taken care of business, they can pick up where they left off. If she is interested … She sweetly smiles she is and they walk off together. hand in hand. - Nicole insists to Sonny and Will she is sober. Sonny has brought her coffee. Will explains it was an act for EJ. Nicole boasts she likes trying to help people who belong together. They, however, are evidently not in need of her services so she departs. Sonny sits with Will and laughs does she come with an instruction manual? Will laughs too. He is patiently waiting for Sonny to finish up at work so they can enjoy the New Year alone. Sonny cannot think of any better way. They kiss over the table. - The security guard shows up again and warns John the next time someone lays hands, they will be on him! Kristen thanks him for him concern and he exits. Brady tries to be understanding but John growls she always plays the victim, which she certainly is not! Brady wants him to leave but John announces he is not going anywhere without his son! Brady takes Kristen aside and tenderly tells her he will speak with his father alone. She feigns worry but he promises her it will be fine. “Let’s go,” he drawls and leaves with his father. Kristen now leers she and Marlena can get something straight. - In the park, Brady insists to John he was the one who made the first move on Kristen. He is sorry about the whole scenario, how he found out. John hopes he will listen to reason. Brady sits and wonders what exactly he wants to tell him. What does he not know about Kristen DiMera? John points out she is hungry for revenge and even told him as much. Brady’s face twitches with tension as John explains she is trying to get to him through his son. He remains strangely silent. John adds he is only an unsuspecting pawn in her brilliant and evil game of chess. She is seductive and the most black hearted person he has ever known! He urges him not to let her ruin him and places a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Brady grumbles he is in fact saying every feeling and moment he has had with her has been false. John agrees and notes it will end tonight forever. That affair has to! Brady’s eyes are filled with bitterness. - Outside, Gabi informs Rafe they saw him with Sami. Nick notes it was certainly bizarre to see her kiss EJ a mere five minutes later. Rafe would rather not discuss and sends them home so his expectant sister can get some much needed rest. But Gabi insists on stopping by the coffee house for a pastry, where she and Nick run into the biological father of her baby, seated at a table alone. Where is Sonny? Will replies he is checking on his baby … then hastily corrects himself. Sonny is checking on his business! Gabi pleasantly steps away to get the pastry to fulfill her new craving. The tension in the air is thick. Nick wonders whether Will has made any New Year’s resolutions. Will stares him in the eye and declares he has. He resolves to beat the bigotry out of him if he dares call him gay boy again! Nick purses his lips. - Rafe finds Nicole setting up at the church and takes a look around. She notes he must be thinking of Gabi’s wedding and assures him she will be a beautiful bride.Rafe teases her about her previous actions. She followed EJ, who then did not return to Sami before midnight. She wants to know what happened with him and Sami but Rafe refuses to compete. Did he seize the moment or not! He asks why she set that up. She admits she wanted to do a good deed. Besides, the best version of Sami she ever saw was with Rafe, not to mention she would not wish EJ on any woman. She presses him for the details. Rafe grins like a schoolboy and gushes they kissed. - EJ escorts Sami into his office, where a romantic table and sexy jazz music await by candlelight! She gives him a look. He grins and raises his champagne glass to her. He is pleased with the nice dinner his assistant has set up. Sami is surprised it was his office and not his apartment. He wanted her to be comfortable and helps her into her seat. He points out he has her favorites on the menu, plus this view is the finest in Salem. And he did not mean the one from the window. “I meant you!” he coos. - Marlena warns Kristen that John knows all so the game is over! As soon as John enlightens Brady, she will not wish to see the sunrise in Salem again! Kristen confidently downs her champagne. She turns the table on her adversary by taunting her for not telling John about her and Brady’s lascivious affair. She goes on to suggest that John might be lying to her. Marlena begs to differ. Kristen leers that he was crazy about her and is jealous and irrational. Marlena disagrees, though her eyes fill with doubt when Kristen adds whose version of this story will Brady believe – hers or Marlena’s? - Brady growls Kristen warned him his father would try and do this. He reminds him he was the one who insisted she had changed. John laments he made a mistake and has since seen the truth. Brady suspiciously snaps he only changed his mind when he saw them together. He assumes he hates him caring about someone he once cared about. He accuses him of hating Kristen being with anyone except himself! - At the coffee house counter, Gabi asks Sony if they could at least learn to tolerate each other for Will’s sake, given they both care him … - Meanwhile, Will glares at Nick and wonders how Gabi deals with his homophobia. Nick assures him he regrets using the expression gay boy. It was not his intention to offend him. Will remarks if he means it that is all good. However, if he felt for a moment his child would be raised by a bigot he would not let that person anywhere near his child! Nick scowls is he threatening him? No, he is stating a fact. “My child will not be raised by a homophobe!” Nick reminds him he made Gabi an emotional wreck so he should not threaten them so hastily. “I am not going to let you make me and Gabi’s life crazy and hell for the next 18 years.
