Episode 12,021 - Nicole vows to show Eric what she really wants and shoves him. They start to kiss on the desk with unholy passion. She blinks back to reality and exclaims to the perplexed priest she wants out and out of this life and to be far away from him! Eric wonders where. To a new club with a party? He implores her not to go down that road again. “Don’t do it,” he whispers. He promises to help guide her on the right path. Nicole laments this is no life for her but he believes something happened today that shook her. He insists he can help her. She bitterly doubts it. He appears deeply upset she would throw away their friendship like this. She insists she does not want to lose him but there is no other way … - Rafe is alone drinking outside as he flashes back to Sami calling her night with EJ the best night of her life! Meanwhile Kate is drinking at the pub. Stefano calls her from overseas as his lawyer said she wanted to speak. Personal or business? She toys with her cocktail and pouts. Both as it is tax time. He grumbles about the government getting his money. She suggests they file a partial joint tax return as they were man and wife for part of the year. He reminds her of his immense wealth, that he even gave her a red Ferrari. Kate admits she gave it a funeral. He calls her a careless woman. That is why she is all alone! He calls her an old witch in Italian. Kate is shaken. She snaps to send his part of the return on time or she will make sure he hears from the IRS. Click! - Sami gushes, blushes, and puts the ring back before EJ returns from the kids’ room. He explains Johnny was telling Sydney ghost stories. Sami pretends to be busy at her computer. He sits down and grins he has something important to ask her, then crouches down before her. She suggests he just ask, her eyes shining. He wonders whether she has seen Johnny's green monster and searches under the couch. Surprised Sami replies it is in the fridge guarding treats. EJ pleasantly notes Sydney apparently needs protection now so he must take it to them. He shall return shortly. Sami is still hoping … - At the hospital, Dan quietly asks Jen if it is true that she lied. Jen looks guilty as sin. “Yes, I lied to Chloe about where we’d be tonight!” she confesses. Dr. Kayla interrupts to talk to Parker’s parents about his tests. Before Dan goes with Chloe, he informs Jen they will discuss this after so please do not leave. He now goes to see his son. Kayla explains the boy’s fever is down and he can go home tomorrow. They do need his temperature to get a little lower. Chloe wishes to stay the night. So does Dan! Meanwhile, HR Anne is impatiently pushing the elevator button. Jen spies the red stamp from Club Inferno on her hand and confronts her. They exchange words and Anne takes the stairs. - Disheveled Rafe has been drinking.He bursts into the rectory and loudly complains to Father Eric that his sister Sami is back with EJ. He looks from sexily dressed Nicole to the puzzled priest, back to Nicole again. - Sami and EJ are drinking red wine. She is sorry she has no champagne. He announces they are going to have their champagne tomorrow night. She wonders what they will be celebrating and he teases she already knows. She plays innocent. EJ grins they shall do it now and fishes in his coat pocket. Sami can barely contain herself. - Rafe exclaims Sami can have that loser EJ in her bed, but what about the kids! Father Eric patiently explains he and Nicole were speaking. He will attend to this tomorrow, and advises Rafe to go home and sleep. Not likely! Nicole wonders where Rafe is really headed. To the outdoor bar at the town square. She asks him to get her a dirty martini. She will be there shortly. Rafe grins and goes ahead. Eric is appalled. If she walks out, she cannot come back. She meets his gaze and quips she is clear on the rules. - EJ takes out not the ring box, but his phone. He has something to show Samantha. They have fantastic domestic profits in DiMera, leading in the retail division. He now learns Sami had not actually seen the report yet, then jokingly wonders what she was expecting then. “I can read you at a hundred paces. You were expecting something else. Something bigger!” Sami stammers she thought they were … EJ finishes she thought they were ready to take things to the next level. She agrees. He calls it a big step. She is all for it. EJ kisses her and gets back to his coat pocket, this time producing a bottle of nail polish. He excitedly announces they have thirty-five shades! - Rafe is back at the outdoor bar, drowning his sorrows. He squints up at an intruder. Kate prettily sits at his table with her own drink. She has something to say! He slurs it must be about Gabi or Sami. Kate slurs about all the debris that would be left and admits she should be on Sami’s side cos she is team Will. Rafe thinks someone has to talk to Sami. Kate wonders if Rafe approves of Will being father of the baby. Of course. Kate slurs then it seems they do not have a problem, laughs, and finishes her drink. He offers to buy her another, pleased by their peace plan. Kate tries to reassure him that he will get over Sami and calls him a good guy. She munches on an olive. He grins Kate is one hell of a woman, with her independent streak. He calls her beautiful. She thanks him, then complains about the Italian insult Stefano hurled at her, about being a grandmother old witch who meddles and ends up alone. Rafe dismisses Stefano as a sinister freak. His life is crazy. She thanks him for the laugh. He is curious about how she hooked up with the guy in the first place. She whispers it was blackmail.”What!” exclaims Rafe in disbelief. Kate muses she does not know Rafe or Detective Hernandez well enough … Rafe drawls he can just see him forcing her into marrying him. Kate points out he turned out to be the love of her life. Rafe believes she is better off without him. They toast to that. Kate decides it is time to go. He hopes she is not driving. Negative. He stands up and offers to walk her home. They stagger off together, holding onto each other, still laughing. The night is young ... - Dan rejoins Jen and takes her somewhere quiet to talk. In the private room, he wonders why Jen lied. He is still upset about not knowing what happened to Parker when he needed him. She explains she feared Chloe would try to run interference and insists she is sorry. He accuses her of not being sorry she lied to Chloe and she retorts no, she is not. She was right…The details are no longer important, but Chloe was up to her tricks tonight. Dan downplays it and insists he would not have fallen for it. Jen warns she will keep coming after him and using the child. Dan becomes exasperated. He explains Chloe would stop if she realized the tricks did not work. But he will never disappear from his son. It troubles him that Jen could not even trust him to manage this. He accuses her of acting like he is a fool. Jen just feels he is trusting and too kind to women in trouble, like with Nicole! - Back at the rectory, Nicole rummages for money in her desk drawers for the drinks. Eric whispers goodbye. He sits down and looks away, ready to break down. Nicole starts for the door. She pauses and looks back at him. He gasps he naturally does not expect her to live like him, if that is what she thought. He does not expect her to be a nun and suddenly implores her to accept his apology if that is how he made her feel. Nicole thinks no apologies are necessary. Eric murmurs he knows her and he knows she was running. His eyes filled with torment, he recounts her claim that she will only hurt him if she stays. Does she really believe it? Yes. He insists she cannot hurt him for she is a good person. He gets closer, looks deeply into her eyes, and emotionally declares he has faith in her. “Trust me,” he breathes. Nicole is mesmerized. - Ally is home from the Ice Capades. Sami hugs her. EJ asks the young babysitter to stay a while, as he wanted to take Samantha out somewhere. Sami will put Ally to bed first.
