DEPOSITION DAY!

PART 1

- Dapper John is in his suit as pretty lawyer Carrie joins him at his cell. They are not looking forward to him having to give a deposition. Marlena arrives and is dismayed EJ is still going through with the subpoena. John
is angry about EJ pretending to be the champion of the people. Carrie suspects EJ will try and drag this out, but at least the trial is keeping John in Salem. When she must step away to take a call. John quietly asks Marlena how she is doing. She misses him something awful and calls him handsome.
- EJ is being interviewed on live TV at the mansion. He is praised by interviewer Jerry for gaining in the polls, likely for his lawsuit against
John Black. Suited EJ is in his insincere element. He explains this is not about him running for mayor. Nicole hands him a photo and he holds up the picture of a lady called Cheryl who, like many others, was cheated by the dastardly John Black. He intends to ask him how he sleeps at night!
EJ acts indignant about what happened to Cheryl as well as the thousands of others. John Black stole from them all and he is demanding justice!
- Carrie returns and curses about EJ being on TV. John suggests they watch the live feed on her iphone.  They see EJ accusing John of being a coward who robbed so many blind! Afterwards, Carrie is sorry they saw that. Marlena wants to be there for John, but Carrie thinks EJ would object. John assures her she is always with him anyway. Marlena puts on a brave face and tells him she is holding up fine, and keeping busy. She also got an email from Belle, with pictures of Claire. She cries she loves him. John kisses his fingers and touches her face. She will see him soon. He gets choked up and the guard opens his cell door. He kisses the love
of his life on the lips, mutters "No tears," and is gone.
- Bo and Hope have taken out the Horton decorations. She hopes it is alright they are breaking with tradition by decorating earlier than usual.
Bo points out they have much celebrating to make up for. Hope smiles and kisses him. The fireplace glows in the background as she admires
a homemade snowflake decoration. She gets wistful about gran. She misses her terribly. Bo knows, and that is why he brought her something. He hands her an envelope. She reads the old Christmas card from Alice, then thanks Bo, for gran's reassuring words can always guide her. Bo points out Mrs. H also said she did not back down from a challenge. He believes she would encourage her to keep looking. Hope holds the card close and kisses him. She now places the old card on the mantelpiece, insisting it is just a loving card. Her eyes, however, show she believes it.
- Rafe and Sami are at the loft, frustrated they have not been able to
reach Will or Gabi, after finding out what happened from Maggie. Sami has no idea why her son is so angry. Rafe wonders what set him off. He points out he crossed the line, though. Sami agrees but wants to make
sure he is okay. Sami tells Rafe how he said he wanted to move out.
Rafe states that might be a good thing. However, he growls NO WAY when he hears he wants to move into an apartment with Gabi.
- Meanwhile, Will sits alone outside, remembering what he saw, how he then reacted. He shakes his head.  He eventually returns home. Sami
asks where he has been. Out. Rafe does not want him to be rude to his mom. Sami wishes he had at least called. He coldly states he will not be living in their house for long. Rafe demands to know whether he was
with Gabi. Negative. Sami wants to know what happened, as Maggie
told them about what he did to her lovely kitchen. Rafe asks why he is
so angry. He owes them an explanation! He has been disrespectful, rude, and tore poor Maggie's house apart! Sami just wants him to tell them
what is going on. They love him. Will sarcastically agrees they are a big, happy family. Rafe wonders where that is coming from. They do not
take their family from granted. He doesn't and neither does Sami. Will starts to yell this is a joke! Rafe is baffled. What has him so upset? Will asks if he really wants to know. Yes, he does. Rafe sidetracks for a moment and adds he is not going to let him invite Gabi to move in with him. Will explains he already did and her answer was she broke up with him. He cries she did it in front of everyone. "It was so humiliating!"
The teen claims that is why he is so upset. Sami is sorry. Will snaps he is done .
- After the interview, Nicole hurries EJ, so they will not be late for his deposition day. And the feedback on his website indicates he is a hit! EJ grins he has only just begun.
- Lawyer EJ later sits across John from a table and wants to know why
he did it. Lawyer Carrie objects. EJ points out he already confessed. Why the secrets? John drawls secrets are something the DiMeras know all about! EJ coldly reminds Carrie to tell her client only to answer his questions, no comments please. EJ and John start to disagree about his family. EJ insists this is about the lives John destroyed. He now brings up his visit to the clinic in Switzerland. Carrie mentions the fifth amendment. EJ tries to discourage them from taking any matter to trial. Carrie gets a call. She calls a recess and steps out. John smirks at "junior" to stick around. He has been looking forward to this for a long time!
- At the town square, Marlena approaches Nicole and warns her to get
out while she still can. It is not too late. Nicole nods sarcastically. She need not warn her about her husband or his family. Marlena urges her
not to let them destroy her. Nicole snaps she is condescending. John is
the biggest crook in America, so how can she be judgmental! Marlena exclaims EJ is a self-serving opportunist. And if she believes otherwise, she is in for a rude awakening.
- At the house, Bo is holding Shawn D's ornament and wonders if he will make it back for Christmas with Belle and Claire. Hope smiles it would take a Christmas miracle to get them all back on dry land. Bo now finds Zack's ornament and they get choked up. Hope admits she goes in his room to say his name out loud every day. Bo holds her and emotionally says they will never forget. The big guy quietly cries as she sighs about living with the pain of losing a child.
- John commends EJ on his hypocrisy, which he has taken to a new
level. They both know he is not guilty of any crime. EJ continues to act indignant about the cheated Salemites. John drawls those people are only his pawns. He is no different than his father. He must have made the old man proud. EJ faces him and notes the difference between them is that people will remember John as the guy who stole it all from them and EJ will be the one who gives it back to them. John slyly states he could only do that if he was the one who stole it all in the first place ...
