PART 1 - At the office, lovebirds Brady and Madison engage in silly love talk about what they were eating and then some! Sami approaches with sales numbers. Brady is about to get to work and asks Mad for more holiday sugar. Sami fumes. Once she and Madison are alone, she points out she gets bent out of shape that she takes an hour off for a massage, but here is the boss herself sleeping with the CEO! Madison reminds her that she happens to be the one in charge. Sami claims she is not comfortable with this scenario. Mad suggests she let it go, as it will not affect her job. Sami continues so she repeats to let it go. Sami still blurts out she will regret sleeping with Brady! Mad orders her to drop it. Sami insists he has a bad track record with women. Mad states she has a bad track record with men. Mad advises her to focus on what she was hired to do. Or else she will not hesitate to get rid of her! - At the mansion, Nicole plays with Kate's product samples. She cackles they are actually decent. EJ is at work on the computer. Kate has just entered. She agrees Nicole should take the labels off so no one will see the trashy broad using her stuff! She calls her a two-timing loser with EJ and taunts her about her past marriages she had to endure. Nicole calls her a b*tch and is ready to get physical. EJ jumps up and steps between the two hellcats, demanding to know what they are doing! The women continue to bicker. EJ wants them to all live in peace. Kate quips Nicole will not stay long but EJ reminds her that Nicole is his wife. He asks them both to be civil for the Christmas holidays. Nicole sarcastically agrees. Kate agrees too, but refuses to hug her. EJ calls this his early Christmas present. Kate is now off to shop. Once they are alone, he shakes his head at Nicole. He gathers Kate can be difficult. However, if she is to live in this house, she should ignore her. Nicole calls that impossible. EJ grins she is impossible to stay away from and steals a kiss. He soon teases her with a martini and she grabs it. She hopes the bar will be fully stocked for the holidays, if she must deal with the whole family. She now asks about his meeting with John. He did not accept his offer to buy Basic Black. Nicole is not surprised, as John thinks the DiMeras set him up. Ominous music is heard. EJ suddenly decides to check his messages. She faces him and wonders if the rumors are true. "Are you responsible for embezzling all that money?" EJ blinks. Does she really think he would be capable of such a thing? Yes, she does! - At the town square, Carrie tells Rafe how hopeful she is that the photo will help prove John was not at the café when the money was embezzled. Rafe is hopeful about the DiMera IOU Alice had all those years. Carrie notes John would never accept that kind of help. Meanwhile, John rages to Marlena about the DiMeras. He is back behind bars and vows that he will dissolve Basic Black if need be! - Later, Marlena, Carrie, and Rafe await John in a room. He is brought in and updates Carrie on the dastardly DiMera visit. Carrie is displeased. Rafe notes the DiMeras must have had someone on the inside from the start, like a mole. He shows him the Paris photo. Carrie explains the date stamp was altered. Rafe drawls they really can prove the photo was taken a long time ago. John stares. When Rafe fills him in on the awnings that were bought after the photo was taken, John is amazed. He was indeed there, just not at the time he was accused of! Carrie and John later end up alone together for a moment and he asks for her help. The former pawn has something up his sleeve. He plans to make a move on his own ... - At work, Sami gets a call from Rafe. He is still at the station but wanted to tell her he loved her. She loves him too but nervoulsy cuts the call short, then flashes back to her fling with EJ! - John informs Carrie that he wants to liquidate Basic Black and pay back all who lost their savings. Carrie replies he is in no position to pay anyone at the moment. Marlena returns and is all ears. John becomes suspicious. - Brady finds Sami at the town square and confronts her. He knows what she said to Madison! Sami insists they are not a good fit. Brady loses his cool and reminds her that he and Mad are her bosses. Kate happens by and listens. Sami complains that when it goes south, Madison will blame her! Brady doubts it. Sami argues she has been working so hard to make the most of this opportunity. If his little office fling blows up, what will become of her? Brady bitterly snaps it is always about her. She will never change! - Madison gets a call from someone who wants to know why she turned off her phone earlier. She assures the mysterious caller she is handling business and does not need him to come to Salem. She promises to keep in touch. Once the call is over, she appears tense. Evidently she reports to the man ... - At the mansion, EJ explains to Nicole that for her own sake, it is better she not know certain things. Nicole gets it. However, she has ground rules of her own. As his PR director, she understands she is not privy to certain matters. But there is their personal life to consider. If he has any secrets, now is the time to come clean. EJ flashes back to his sofa tryst with Sami, remembering how hot and out of breath they were. Nicole wonders if there is something he wishes to tell her. He solemnly states yes there is ... - Carrie informs John that his assets are presently frozen. Rafe comes back just as John updates her on the DiMeras wanting his company. He rages he will never make a deal with a DiMera! Marlena assures him no one will force him to do so. The guard comes to escort him back to his cell. Time is up. Carrie urges him not to give up hope. Marlena promises to join him shortly and bid him goodnight. Exit John ... Marlena senses Carrie and Rafe know something they are not sharing and says as much. Rafe admits there is something that could get him out of jail, but it would involve him making a deal with the DiMeras! They tell Marlena the lengthy tale of the Alice IOU which was recently discovered. Marlena is impressed, especially when Rafe points out it could be John's get out of jail free card.
