Brady has an important announcement to make when he arrives at Dan's apartment with Eric, who as of yet knows nothing. Dan is in surgery and Nicole and Eric ask what the problem is. ZANDER for Victor has hired him as the lowest gardener on the Kiriakis totem pole. Gasps ...Serena is smug as a bug to come across manure-hauling hot and sweaty Zander at the square. She taunts him for Victor teaching him a lesson and leers she is leaving Salem. He leers right back ... Caroline has a grandmotherly visit with Theresa. The matriarch is mortified that Victor hired almost killer Zander. Theresa gushes about Brady getting protective and refuses to listen when Caroline reminds her he really loves Melanie still. They stand up to admire sleeping Tate. Theresa sighs she cannot imagine being without her baby boy ... Kate catches up with woman in red Marlena outside the club door. She declares how happy she is to have heard of John and Marlena making their way back together. Marlena blushes but when Kate proceeds to pry information on patient Clyde, she becomes tight-lipped ... Ben stews at the park about Aiden maybe making him appear bad in Abi's eyes if anything gets out. Clyde remembers her Irish land inheritance and sends his son on his way to get the girl ... In her office, Chad softly asks Abigail what is the matter. She sobs as he holds her tight ...Brady explains the Greek is humiliating his nephew from hell while making him pay. Nicole suspects Victor has some other motivation for hiring Zander than just keeping an eye on him. He might be giving the chump another chance to prove his worth to him ... Abigail apologizes as she weeps. Chad does not understand the source of her sorrow ... Serena has a good laugh when the fertilizer falls from Zander's shoulders and smugly states she is leaving Salem ... Caroline crouches over Tate and Theresa is on the other side of the room so Anne does not realize they are not alone when she races in, assuring Theresa that Dr. Lee will not let Brady know she has been lying. Theresa is in shock. Caroline too but then Anne speaks in circles and gives her a horrendous headache. The result is that Caroline has no interest in being informed of anything and stumbles out for some fresh air ... Kate implores Marlena to inform her whether she thinks patient Clyde can change. Everyone is warning her against him! Marlena pauses and carefully chooses her words, given doctor-patient confidentiality. She praises Kate for her innate instincts and advises her to listen to them ... Abigail cries her heart out and exclaims it is too late for them. Romeo Chad's face falls ... Brady believes grandfather is taking a step back from his usual payback and punishment plan. Eric is fine with it for at least he will be keeping an eye on Zander and Nicole will stay safe. Nicole notes him too but Eric makes it clear he cares only about her welfare ... Serena sneers Zander is getting what he deserves and departs. He watches her with wild hatred ...Chad wonders why she thinks they are too late. After all, they love one another. Abigail gasps she loves Ben. Chad insists THEY are in love and she loves HIM more than Ben. She cries she cannot be with him for she is meant to be with Ben. Chad emotionally assures her he will never hurt her again. She reminds him he is the son of Stefano, and look how things ended for Sami, who was also with a son of Stefano. Chad decides right then and there that the way to make things different is for them to flee Salem together forever. He has lots of money and they have their love. He begs her to leave with him tonight. His life means nothing without her and he knows she loves him. He grabs her in a passionate kiss and she kisses him back with equal ardor ... Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Theresa tells off Anne for slipping up. She cannot afford any more close calls. Anne advises her to start paying Dr. Lee cos the intern has bills and he is hanging onto the assumption that she will get funds from her billionaire. Theresa needs more time. She thinks the Zander situation is something that will work in her favor. Brady has become protective ... Brady takes his leave. Nicole asks Eric to stay. She repeats her claim of loving Dan. Eric assures her he has accepted her decision and is at peace with his own love for her. He now broaches a sensitive subject. Serena needs to be warned that Zander is out and about again. Nicole overreacts, raging she will use this as an excuse to try and get Eric back ... Abigail pulls away from Romeo Chad, lamenting she should not have let this happen. Chad gets choked up as he believed her to have already made her choice. She did and her choice is to be with Ben. He wonders why she is so miserable. Perhaps he can fix things ... She snaps they will NEVER be together.NEVER. Chad stares numbly into space, as though he has been slapped a thousand times. He eventually finds his voice. If Ben hurts her, he will break him in half. Abigail cries on. Chad is even more confused and respects her wishes by walking away. But outside the door he collapses in tears. Now the Brady pub beckons ... Abigail dries her tears and arranges to meet Ben at the club ... Chad drowns his sorrows at the pub. When Marlena suggests it is early in the day to get drunk, he slurs about her giving him bad advice ... Serena comes across Caroline sitting on a park bench, hanging her head. Serena asks her to pass on her last letter to Eric. Caroline snaps NO as they are both finished with her and stands up, only to clutch her head and collapse. Serena rushes to her side and cries for HEEEEEEEELP ... Anne warns Theresa that Dan questioning Lee could pose a problem so Lee has to be bribed. Theresa gets stressed and approaches the bar for a drink. Brady stands in the doorway, arms folded and gives her a cold dark stare. Theresa covers by accusing Anne of pushing aside her crutches and holds the table for support. Brady calmly tells her he would like to speak with her about that new addition to the staff after he takes care of a biz call. He politely goes in the other room. Theresa breathes a sigh of relief, believing she covered well ... Zander is ready to open the Kiriakis front door when the head gardener gives him a hard time. He makes him get back to work, now unloading mulch ... At the square Clyde is on his phone ordering his flunky to get him anything in existence on Aiden. Kate comes up behind him and asks why he is on a fishing expedition regarding his own attorney. Clyde is not keen on the curiosity of others but answers he might be needing another attorney, one with more edge. Kate would like to know who. Again Clyde is not keen on her questions and suggests they concentrate on the real reason they came here - to lunch, not lawyer talk. Kate gives him a knowing look ... Ben is attentive with Abigail at their table and tells her how much she means to him. She appreciates his sweet sincerity but lists her faults. Ben loves every single thing about her but fears she is turning down his proposal ... Marlena is sorry for Chad, who complains the girl he loves left him in the dust. And he has no one to blame but himself. Marlena hopes he does not drink and drive. He apologizes for being hard on her and explains he has a driver and car, then bitterly alludes to going back to being a cold and ruthless DiMera ... Anne has left the Kiriakis mansion. Brady joins Theresa and his harsh words horrify her ... KICKED OUT! Outside the club Eric is on the move ... Nicole primly sets up at the park with her picnic basket. All of a sudden Zander appears, glaring at her with evil intent ... Abigail admits there are things to discuss but for now ...Ben asks if she is going to marry him. She smiles slightly and nods. Ben is over the moon and gives her a little kiss with a big hug. Enter one drunken Chad DiMera ... THE END! |
