JJ comes into the living room ready for some food. Jen thinks there is something decidedly different about her son. JJ boasts he believes Paige still loves him. Meanwhile Eve is seated at the club, listening to the conversation with her earplug, as she left a bugging device on the mantelpiece at Horton house ... At the pub, Daphne perceives Paige's sorrow and sincerely hopes she has not fallen for JJ again ... Maggie cannot find Victor anywhere at the mansion ... Victor is presently sitting patiently in Caroline's hospital room. He tenderly takes her hand in his. Caroline wakes up with a start, surprised he sneaked in for a night visit. Her pajamas are elegant ... At the nightclub Clyde continues lurking and listening. John updates Rafe, who notes the scenario of Aiden's attack sounds strange and starts to call Hope. Marlena points out Hope and Aiden had been planning a romantic night. Rafe stops. Marlena steps away to take a call from a patient so John and Rafe sit at a table to talk more. John teases him for taking an unusual interest in Hope. Rafe insists he does care about her as his pal and once partner. John observes him with a twinkle in his eye and tells him she does deserve to be happy ... Hope dabs the dried blood off Aiden's face. Aiden is much moved by her invitation to spend the night with her in the bed she used to share with BO. Tis a big step. He weakly stands and winces in pain. So much for taking his car. She tells him to wait , she can bring her own car around ... JJ updates Jen on how Paige prevented Kyle from catching him in his place. He suggests she did so as she still loves him ...Eve hears the entire sordid story ... Victor grins he could not get to sleep. Caroline gets he told Bo he would look after her. Indeed. Caroline gets choked up ... Rafe is ready to start clearing the nightclub. John asks him to let him and doc remain and put on some romantic mood music. Rafe is all for it. He stands up as Marlena comes back and has high praise for the special thing she shares with John in spite of the obstacles thrown in their path. The blonde gets back to her man. He cuts to the chase. I WANT YOU BACK. He goes on to promise he will start putting her needs first. Matter of fact it starts tonight ... Hope and Aiden have arrived at the cozy house she once shared with Bo. They are in the bedroom and profess their love for one another. Hope helps him remove his shirt and hugs him with sorrow upon seeing his bruised ribs ... Eavesdropping Eve hears JJ discuss being undercover with the DEA ... Jen does not approve of JJ sharing the secret. He had been warned not to tell anyone else ... Eve also hears that Kyle is a drug dealer whom JJ plans to protect Paige from. In fact, he believes that after Kyle is in witness protection far away and he has left the DEA, he will get Paige back cos deep down she still loves him. Eve is mad and stands up at the club, muttering just try it ... Daphne does not agree that Paige loves JJ, as JJ has claimed. Paige is confused. She admits that Kyle has a gun and she is kind of scared to drop him ... Victor and Caroline converse about getting older, some problems needing a cure. She praises him for even visiting her at the clinic in California. The Greek is counting on medical progress finding a cure for her. He suggests she ask the hospital staff for anything her heart desires as they have their orders. Caroline is grateful. He kisses her hand and heads out of the room. Maggie is waiting near the nurse's station. She smiles she suspected she would find him here ... John dramatically declares he would choose Marlena over the ISA if she wanted. Marlena understands how much that important work means to him and does not wish to make him choose. He wonders where they stand. She gets stars in her eyes and quotes a rocky road together meaning more than any highway alone. There is no one else at the nightclub now and Rafe starts the romantic music. They stand and John holds her in his strong arms as they share a romantic dance ... Victor hopes Maggie does not mind. He was unable to sleep and was concerned about Caroline. The redhead realizes he is also Caroline's rock as they share a son, Bo. The Greek gushes Maggie is still the most important woman in his world and they start to happily head home ... Aiden walks out into the quaint garden at Hope's house. Clyde awaits with more threats against the kids and Hope. Aiden quietly convinces him he has no intention of ever telling anyone the truth. Clyde agrees they need not see each other again and cackles about there being more to the attorney than meets the eye. Aiden glumly goes back to the bed where Hope is sleeping ... The love song ends and Rafe teases the love birds he has to close the club ... John suavely suggests he slowly walk Marlena home through the park ... Caroline calls out for Maggie, who must go in her room. She will meet Victor at the mansion soon. She sits and smiles sweetly at the matriarch. Caroline hopes she does not mind her being close to Victor. Maggie gets their closeness stems in part from their past as well as the fact that they they are both worried about Bo, whose whereabouts remain unknown. Victor says nothing but she senses his sorrow. Caroline praises Victor for turning his back on all the tramps and trouble, and marrying Maggie. The two women share an emotional embrace ... Rafe is cleaning up at the club when he comes across John's little black book that he forgot on the table under a glass. He opens it and notices the date of what was supposed to be his last day on the Salem P.D. ... John and Marlena sit on a park bench, surrounded by flowers, serenaded by crickets. She gushes it was a beautiful night. He suavely states the only beauty he noticed was the woman he wants to wake up in the morning with. Then he kisses her ... Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Victor sends an email to Dr. Salinas, seeking a progress report. He then stands up and pours himself a drink. Maggie enters, sees the drink, and senses he is stressed about something. She knows better than to pry, though, and goes up to bed as she is tired. He promises to be there soon. Once alone again, he remembers promising to find a cure for Caroline. Then he looks at his computer and reads the reply to his email. Dr. Salinas is asking for more time as well as funding due to recent roadblocks. Victor sighs ... John stands up and holds out his hand, his eyes filled with longing. Marlena pauses as she does not seem to feel they are at that point yet. He murmurs he can walk her home and return to his place tonight. Marlena is sorry and accepts his hand. He is sorry he was so stubborn all those times she tried to reach out and realizes it will take time. She admits she is not ready yet. No matter. He intends to wait and make it perfect when she is ready. He will get her to believe in them again. Then he romantically kisses the woman he loves and they walk off together, arm in arm ... Rafe cannot believe what he just read in John's little black book about leaving the Salem P.D. He immediately takes out his phone and leaves a message for Commissioner Roman ... Rafe's Important Message! Hope stirs and wonders where Aiden went. He fibs he wanted to find some aspirin, assures her he feels better, and tells Hope to go back to sleep. She snuggles against him, feeling safe. They exchange I love yous and he numbly stares into space ... THE END! |
