She claims she was just in the area. Lexie doubts it. Kate admits she is seeking info on Stefano's whereabouts. Lexie realizes she has not heard from father either! Kate is worried. Lexie remarks she has not spoken to him since before EJ's inauguration. Kate wonders if he ever mentioned Marlena. Lexie is baffled she would say such a thing. Kate points out they do have a history and since John and Marlena returned, he has been rather secretive. Lexie seems to suspect he was responsible for John's earlier problems. Kate disagrees. Lexie realizes that she believes he is smitten with Marlena again! She notes that obsession was over years ago. He loves no one but Kate now. Kate sighs that she knows. Lexie promises to call if she hears anything. Kate laments he has not been communicating with her at all. - Marlena meets Abe and Roman at the pub. She is not hearing from John and she suspects Stefano They are on it! Roman has soon left messages for Agent Shane Donovan, who happens to be his brother-in-law and a major player with the ISA. Now they must simply wait. Marlena agrees to try and be patient. She suddenly realizes it is Abe's anniversary. She urges him to go celebrate with Lexie! Abe chuckles. Roman promises to keep him updated. Abe happily goes home to his wife. Roman decides to call sister Kimberly, so as to get a message to Shane even faster. Marlena thanks him. - Gina and John are glad to be back in the game. He will divert Stefano's tail. Gina hopes when they vanish with the money from the egg, they will have a fun life together. He promises her they will indeed and they kiss. He is anxious to break into the castle but she notes security must have changed. It is better to obtain an invite. Enter Count Wilhelm, an old beau of Gina's she has summoned. He can never say no to her! The old count wants her to get rid of the other guy. She asks John to excuse them, claiming he was a mere diversion. John suavely kisses her hand and exits. Wilhelm wonders where they should go now. Smoking Gina coos she had something intimate in mind, like his place, though first she would like to freshen up. He should bring his car around the back to avoid a tabloid scandal. The count is eager to get her alone ... - Lucas and Sami are still outside and he insists this is all about EJ. Sami insists there is nothing between them. She begs him to believe her. "I'm still in love with you!" Lucas bitterly explains she does not truly love him. She just cannot accept the fact that for the first time in her life, he is not available for her. Sami stares, then denies it. Lucas exclaims they would not be having this conversation if things had not gone to hell with Rafe. And she only wants him because he has someone! Sami points out he did come back to town for her. He snaps that was his last mistake. He will not be running to her anymore! And he will never ever be with her again. He is going back to Hong Kong, to a woman he knows will not break his heart. "Goodbye!" Lucas storms off. Sneaky Sami, however, is not about to give up ... - At the town square café, Carrie quietly watches the scene unfolding as Rafe repeats to EJ that Nicole is carrying HIS baby. In the background, the unnoticed Carrie appears shocked and upset. EJ sarcastically states Rafe must be having Nicole's bastard child and wanting to shout it to the world. Rafe agrees and suggests he leave. Nicole echoes the sentiment. EJ wants sweetheart to come with him, for he intends to take her to the hospital for a paternity test! Rafe disagrees. Carrie later collapses in tears nearby. Austin finds her and asks what happened. She cannot say. He feels he knows the reason and wants to make things better. Meanwhile, the intense scene continues. Rafe refuses to subject Nicole and the baby to tests and needles. EJ, however, knows something is amiss and warns Nikki to cooperate. Until he has proof which one of them is the fatha, he will not let her out of his sight. But if she is telling the truth, he will not bother her again. Therefore, it is in her best interest to have the test done. Rafe calls his bluff and drawls they will do it, just to get him out of Nicole's life! Nicole blanches. - Austin assures Carrie to confide in him, for he will fix it. Carrie shakes her head, convinced that is not possible. - Old Wilhelm has escorted Gina to a lavish old castle bedroom. He is ready for action on the canopy bed, but she sends him to fetch caviar and champagne first. He walks out and she opens the side glass door to John, who slips in. He intends to drug him so they can get their egg! - Nicole and Rafe arrive at the hospital with EJ, who goes to find Dr. Lexie. Once they are alone, Nicole exclaims to Rafe that if EJ learns the truth, he will surely steal her baby! Rafe is strangely calm ... - John hands Gina something he obtained over the counter to put the old count to sleep. She promises he will not get far.
