Her daughter sounded upset when she called. Carrie laments she is torn and seeks her advice, though she knows she has enough of her own worries to keep her busy. She hopes John and Hope will return soon and Uncle Bo will recover. Marlena is glad to help her daughter and wonders what is wrong. Carrie updates her on Austin's non-affair and Abigail the liar. She soon gets to her feelings for Rafe. Marlena asks if they are still there, those feelings. Carrie confesses her feelings for Rafe have not gone away. But she and Austin went through so much to get together! She cried tons of tears for that relationship in the past. Marlena agrees she had much to get over on the road to Austin. Carrie now wonders if she is just looking for the next best thing. She has a personal question for her mother. How did she manage to find the courage to leave Roman for John? Marlena pauses. She is not sure where to begin. She points out she fell in love with John when she believed he was Roman. At the time she was as determined as she hopes Carrie is to save her marriage. Carrie remarks Roman left when he saw how she felt and then Marlena followed her heart to John. Marlena admits it was a very painful decision. Carrie would like to know if she would do it all over again ... - Gina smokes as the John the Pawn pours her a glass of fine champagne at a private gambling room. John regrets they ventured to this place instead of going straight to the egg. Gina insists she was right to come to her parlour. They toast to their freedom and the money that will free them of Stefano. She starts to flirt they can have fun. The Pawn would like that ... Knock knock! A player has arrived. A woman will show him in. John wants Gina to proceed with caution. She is confident she will be able to handle him. Enter Stefano. He greets his princess and kisses her hand. The tux clad phoenix graciously now greets the pawn and grins it is like old times. Let their games begin! Gina smiles. John takes a drink. Gina is not surprised he found them. He would, of course, be having them watched. He suggests a game of poker. Gina just loooves playing games! She is soon winning but Stefano warns that he will triumph. The Pawn dares him to up the stakes. The phoenix calls his bluff. Winner takes all, chips on the table. The Pawn suavely states he had something more interesting than money in mind! If they win, they shall return the egg at their convenience for a price to be negotiated. And if Stefano wins, he will have the egg tonight at no cost. The phoenix greedily agrees. The Pawn demands a new dealer and a sealed deck of cards. The present dealer is ordered to depart. Stefano is amused. "Whatever happened to trust!" - At the pub, Sami exclaims Lucas cannot leave. She needs him! He doubts that. She has EJ after all. Sami scoffs. EJ just offered her an apartment as she cannot stay with Rafe anymore. Plus she will pay him back. Lucas gets sarcastic and sounds embittered.Sami notices and argues EJ is just trying to help. Lucas snaps he sees what she does not - that EJ has feelings for her. Still! She jokes the feelings he has for her are anger and resentment, with a touch of loathing! Lucas insists there are indeed unresolved feelings between her and EJ and they are both in denial! Sami protests. Lucas notices. He urges her to think about all she and EJ have done to and for and about each other and then she can deny it! Sami flashes back to the anger, the passion that she and EJ have shared. She spills her coffee and gets miffed. Lucas raises his voice that she cannot move on with someone else until she deals with her unresolved issues with EJ. He feels like the best friend in a werewolf movie! - Replay of EJ overhearing Nicole discuss being pregnant with Rafe at the town square cafe. They are having a baby? He cannot believe it. He heard her say it. Rafe grumbles to watch it and stands beside her. EJ hopes she is alright and calls it the luckiest news. She will be a wonderful motha! Nicole cringes. He realizes she did not plan to tell him and appears disappointed. He is further dismayed to hear she has seen Daniel, not yet an OBGYN. He urges her to see the best person. Money is no object. He understands her worry. Rafe tries to step in, assuming he is threatening her. EJ snaps she has a medical history and assures Nicole that he does sympathize with the strain she is under. Rafe scoffs. Nicole explains that she does not feel EJ is threatening her. Rafe steps away. EJ thanks her and gently says he would not threaten her. He informs sweetheart he will be with her every step of the way and places his hands on her shoulders. They are in this together! Nicole pouts. She suggests they sit and talk in this public place. Rafe joins them. Nicole nervously points out she has a lot of decisions to make. He accepts that but feels she should move back into the mansion regardless. She dramatically disagrees. He, however, will not take no for an answer and announces that is the end of the discussion! Rafe stares. Nicole snaps her pregnancy does not mean they will ever reconcile! EJ uncomfortably clears his throat. He does not believe Nikki is being rational at the moment. She angrily adds she was crazy to ever believe him. EJ's face becomes solemn and he dangerously murmurs he hopes she was not going to try and keep this baby from him. Ominous music is heard ... Read Part 2 - click here! |
