CRASH - At the pier, Mel fights back by pepper spraying her attacker in the eyes, but the hand on her shoulder belonged to Dario! She gets him a towel soaked in milk for his face. He should not have grabbed her like that. He teases at least he got hit with pepper spray by a nurse who knows what she is doing. She reminds him she was attacked, hence her overreaction. He reminds her he saved her already once. Given what happened, though, she should be out of it, drop the reward. He will take it from here ... Mel disagrees. She does not like to be told what to do! And Arianna was her best friend. She is tired of losing those she loves, advises him not to tell her what to do, and departs. Dario sighs. - At the house of Kiriakis, Phil is sitting with Parker and the social services rep, explaining that he should have shared custody with Chloe. The only reason she is not there is due to the fact that she needed down time. Phil is informed that Chloe would be closely monitored before the chance of any shared custody, as she almost killed Parker, given how she left him out in the cold. Phil emotionally insists she wants to be a mother to her son. The social services rep understands and hopes she will be able to prove it to them. Phil is later alone, bouncing baby Parker on his knee. He smiles his son makes him feel like a better man and vows to do right by him. The baby reaches forward with a chubby little hand, touches his face, and giggles. - Meanwhile, Cheatin Heart patron Chloe is on the phone with Kate and calls her an old ho! Kate is recording and wants her to speak up. Chloe does. Kate lists how Chloe cheated on her sons. "You tried to kill me!" says Chloe. Kate drawls she only tried to kill herself. Chloe damns her to hell, then admits she is still drinking at the bar. Kate continues to needle her. Chloe slurs Parker is HER baby. She warns Kate if she tries to turn Phillip against her, she will take the baby and run! Kate asks if she would really take away the baby from all of them. Chloe snaps she would and drunkenly says she would kill her, if necessary. Kate pretends to be upset and hangs up. Mrs. DiMera now stops recording and muses she has just put the final nail in her coffin. Meanwhile, the bartender asks Chloe if she is driving. She shows him a photo of her little boy and smiles he is her whole life! - Stefano has summoned his flunky to the hospital. He wants everyone on his payroll looking for Theo and Ciara. "You got it, boss!" Exit the flunky. Madame Vivian slithers up and notes the phoenix looks upset. He laments his grandson is missing. Viv is ever so sorry. He wonders why she is there. To see an orthopedist, as being in that coffin made her neck stiff. She gets snarky about Kate, so Stefano sighs she almost sounded human and walks away. - At the Brady pub, Rafe 2 remembers EJ warning him to be gone and tells Roman he is not sticking around just for Sami. Roman explains he needs all cops available to find Ciara! Rafe 2 drawls he must go anyway. When he finds out Stefano's grandson is also missing, he makes a face that Roman actually wants him to look for the mini-DiMera. He points out the phoenix would have all his men searching. Roman impatiently states he knows what his problem is. He was never the upstanding guy they thought he was! The commander coldly excuses himself, as he has two kids to find, and no more time to waste on the likes of him ... - In Chicago, the priest who was in charge of Fay's service assumes EJ is Taylor's husband. Wrong! "He would be mine," states Nicole. The priest is sorry. All three children wanted to leave their mother a final letter. He already has Brandon's. EJ wants a word with the funeral director. The priest and EJ exit together. Nicole flashes back to hearing Fay might have known a secret about Rafe connected to EJ. Taylor now accuses her of shutting EJ out. Nicole quips their mother just died. Tay exclaims she is lucky not to go through this alone. She would give anything to be in her shoes! Nicole blinks. She assures her weepy sister that she has her. EJ returns. The funeral director has suggested they leave for the burial now. Nicole would rather stay for a while longer. The priest offers to take her later. It is decided that EJ and Tay can go ahead. They leave together. Nicole sadly stands by a photograph of pretty Fay. She sits to write her last letter but it is tough. The priest comes back and offers to help. Nicole confides in him about the secret Fay learned before she died, which she wanted to tell her. Part of her wants to know what it was, though the other part makes her wants to run in the other direction. EJ was most anxious to find out how much she heard. She laments to the priest that the dastardly DiMeras might have already done something to Rafe, to get him out of the way. The priest now realizes why Fay was so worried about her. Nicole is moved to hear her mother never told him a single negative thing about her. She explains she tries to be a good person now and had assumed the same of EJ. But perhaps Fay was right about him. The priest suggests she take things slow. Nicole remains fearful of what she might find out, whether she could live with it. - Tay and EJ are sitting in the limo together, en route to the cemetery. She tells him this is the second time she has been in a limo. The first was for the prom. He amorously places his hand on hers. Tay reminds him to be appropriate. He reminds her he already agreed to stay away. Tay declares she can never be this close to him ever again, because of her mother and sister. She yells at the driver to watch the road. EJ smiles. Tay now announces that after this day, she will move away and try and forget all about him. EJ pouts. He thinks she should not. Tay, however, has noticed something is already off between him and Nicole. Her sister needs him. EJ insists that Nicole does not suspect there is any attraction between them. Taylor points out even the priest saw something, as he assumed EJ was her husband. Does it not bother him? EJ cannot believe she would think it does not bother him that he must lie to a woman who loves him (Nicole). It does indeed. It also bothers him that he cannot be the man for her! - In front of the DiMera door, Troy the drug dealer for EJ once upon a time, shows up and reminds Stefano he took the heat for his son. The phoenix warns him to scram. Troy, however, figures the DiMeras owe him. Stefano growls he owes him nothing. Troy declares he will be back later to collect! The phoenix stares after him ominously. - Kate arrives at the Kiriakis mansion and informs Phillip that if he cares about his son, he will listen to this! She plays the whole sordid set up tape of Chloe's drunken rant, which now sounds like more of a threat to leave with Parker. Phil is stunned into silence. - Masked Troy sneaks into Dan's apartment. He hides in the closet when Mel enters. She is on the phone with Dan, assuring him she will be fine. He quietly leers the little girl will have a more exciting night than she had planned! Mel is off the phone now, and relaxed to be at home. - Back at the hospital, flunky Gus meets boss lady Viv. Her orthopedist suggested yoga. She proceeds to update him on the moment she just had with Stefano, at least until she pushed him too far and he walked away. Gus thinks they still have a strong plan A. He announces that he is having DNA analysis done on everyone who was in Stefano DiMera's secret basement cell. Soon they will know the prisoner's identity! Madame Viv is thrilled to hear it. - Stefano finds Rafe 2 at the pub. Rafe 2 explains he is wrapping things up with Roman Brady and tells him of the police search, how he parted ways with boss Roman. The phoenix has one more loose end. He shows his pawn Troy's photograph and orders him to take care of him. Marco will give him the deets. After he handles the clown, he must go far far away from Salem. Forever. Exit the phoenix. Rafe 2 scrunches up the picture and makes a comment about dealing with the guy. His phone rings. Tis Nicole, hoping he will pick up. He does not so she calls the loft. Dario informs her that Rafe has in fact left town ... - Rafe 2 has a good stiff drink and flashes back to killing Fay, feeling a tad sorry for that. Now he is supposed to take care of the dweeb in the picture. He stands up with his cool sunglasses on, ready to say goodbye to Salem. - Chloe opens the grand front door of the Kiriakis mansion, takes a deep breath, and walks in. She smiles at Phillip and wonders why Kate is there. Kate primly excuses herself. Phil shows Chloe the tape she dropped off and plays it. When it comes to the part where she threatens to run away with Parker, he gets intense. "What the hell is this about!" - Back at the apartment, Mel lies down on the sofa with a book. All of a sudden, the lights go out. "Who's there!" she gasps, sitting up in the blue darkness. No one answers. - Back at the hospital, Gus opens the lab report as Viv eagerly watches. The results are in! There was one sample the lab could not identify, as it did not belong to the DiMeras or their henchmen. That must be the prisoner. Gus and Viv head off to run his DNA against another DNA database ... - In the limo, Tay touches EJ's face as he tells her he loves her and longs to be the man for her. She whispers she wants that, too. All of a sudden, the car jerks to the side and she ends up in EJ's protective arms, on top of him ... |
