Jen chokes, Rafe remembers, and a new heartthrob ...! - At the convent, replay of Rafe getting the rosary from the nun, seeing the name of the Holy Cross engraved. He knows that place! Sister Rose explains it is on the outskirts of Salem. He has a blurred flashback. Tis the safe house! He tells Sister Rose and she deduces he must have lived by a church or convent. He tries to stand up, determined to go find it. She insists he heal first and rest. In his sleep, he proceeds to dream of the safe house, the stuffed penguin, and the Christmas tree. "The key," he whispers. He remembers it opening the door to the apartment and suddenly sits up. - At the Cheatin Heart, Dario removes his apron, having finished his shift at the bar. As an afterthought, he tenderly picks up Melanie's jacket and remembers her saying that he looked like he cared. Exit Dario and jacket. Also at the Cheatin Heart, Chad gets his last paycheck from Adrienne and thanks her for the work. She is sad to see him go. He boasts he will be taking a job at his father's company. Adrienne suddenly gets tense. He is a good kid and she fears he might not know what he is getting himself into! He jokes he will not be a mobster in training. Adrienne hopes he will never see the side of the DiMeras her family has. Now standing all alone, Chad considers. But his father does not even seem to notice he exists anymore! - At the apartment, Dan is excitedly unpacking groceries. He intends to make Jen dinner there. Mel is dressed for her nursing shift and stammers in surprise. She calls it sweet. He thinks she means it is lame. Mel is not so sure that he has the cooking experience. He brings up making her a sandwich. Besides, he found a recipe online for a seafood dish including scallops and shrimp. He can do this. He knows she will like it, too. Mel smiles cutely and hopes he will have a good time. She wants to hear all about his date, then again not all! She hugs him and is gone. Dan sets the table, then takes a wedding picture of himself and Chloe out of its frame, tossing it in the trash. He is momentarily upset. - At the hospital, Jen gets off the phone and flashes back to kissing Dan. Along comes daughter Abby with her forms for the summer internship. Jen nervously asks for her help! She knows what outfit to wear tonight, though not which earrings. She shows them to Abby, who feels they are all nice. Jen is insecure and wants to make the right choice. Abby tells her she is obsessing. Jen admits she is nervous and conflicted. Maybe Carly was right. She said she felt guilty because part of her still feels married to Jack. "It is so hard moving on." She cries and Abby hugs her and offers to help. - At the hospital, Stefano runs into Katherine, who had an appointment and is cancer free for two years now. He wishes she had told him she would be there. Kate points out he all but disappeared from Chad's life after he moved into the house. Last night he was dining at the big table all alone. Poor lad must wonder if he even cares about him! - Maggie has an unexpected visitor at her kitchen door. Tis Victor. He declares he hates being at odds with her. She reminds him he knows how to fix it. He insists he is right and she must concede. That Chloe destroys everything, like even them now, and he urges her to make her pack her things and go. "No way in hell!" quips the redhead. Chloe is welcome in her home for as long as she likes. Chloe, now also at the door, though unseen, has overheard, and seems relieved. The Greek tycoon drawls Chloe is medusa and destroys people. He lists family members who fell prey to her charms and insists she led Lucas to almost drink himself to death. Maggie disagrees. She adds Chloe is a human being who needs help. He thinks she is just regrouping before she decides who to destroy next. He wonders how long she will be staying there. Until she gets back on her feet. "Meaning she'll never leave!" he drawls. Maggie offers to remain friends with him as long as she stays there. What does he think? Victor proceeds to call Chloe names. Maggie stops him. Chloe may have hurt others, though she has also hurt herself. Vic wonders why she even cares. Maggie admits her life too got complicated when she was drinking. She would have destroyed everything if not for Alice helping her. She showed her the way home. The redhead woefully recounts how she held her together. Now it is her turn. She will not stand by and watch Chloe be ruined. The Greek tycoon sighs. He is sorry. He cannot and will not be as forgiving. - Outside the pub, Rafe 2 decides to go in so he can prevent Sami from discovering his bank card with the bogus name. He enters and claims to Caroline he wants to make things right with Sami. Caroline smacks him! He drawls he had that coming. He reminds Caroline he said he wants to make things right. She gets mad he brought a ho home and tells him to scram. He begs for a second chance to help him save his marriage. She reconsiders, as she herself had trouble with her marriage. He asks her to tell him where Sami is. Caroline honestly does not know. But when she finds out, she will encourage her to hear him out. Rafe 2 wants her to call her. Now! She does and only gets voice mail. Twice. Rafe 2 asks if she said where she was going after she left the pub. No. What did they talk about? Her finding closure. And she had a key, maybe to a special place they have ... Caroline is now summoned to the kitchen. - Stefano and Kate meet up with Chad at the Cheatin Heart. Stefano apologizes for being inattentive lately and promises that will change. Ring ring! He must step away to take a call. Chad cannot believe it. Kate stops him from leaving and explains it must have been an emergency. Family always comes first for Stefano no matter how busy he gets. She assures him that Stefano is on his side. Chad bitterly recalls his other father also ignoring him. Kate promises him that Stefano will never let him down. The phoenix walks back and agrees. His son is in his heart even when he is not present. They talk and Kate walks off to get more drinks for the gang. Stefano now tells Chad that he will be around for him more. He wishes to have a relationship with his son, which is why he asked him to move in. He has had to do something important for Elvis, who needed him. That was why he was busy. He promises Chad if he needs him, he will there 100 percent. He hopes he will never forget that! - Abby and Jen sit on a bench down at the pier. Abby realizes her mother still loves Jack, even if she is not in love with him anymore. She should fight her feelings of being disloyal, as Jack is no longer around. She is still too young and beautiful to be alone. No need for pressure. And if she is not ready for more than friendship at first, she ought to tell Dan. He will understand. Jen smiles and thanks her for her help. Abby now gives her her own earrings for luck. Jen thinks the hoops are too hip. Abby thinks they are perfect. Jen is happy when she looks at them in the mirror.Abby suggests she have fun. Dan has a great sense of humor. "It's just a date." Chloe comes around the corner and stares. "You're going on a date with Daniel?!" Is she for real? Why, everyone knows she still loves Daniel! Abby retorts no one cares. Jen points out she hurt Daniel a great deal. Chloe calls her a bitch and reminds them she only wanted a family with Dan and their little boy. Now she has nothing. Jen exclaims Daniel lost a son and marriage because of her. If she loves him, she should do as he wants and let him move on. They depart, leaving Chloe standing in tears. - At the hospital, Dario delivers Mel her jacket. She is grateful and asks if he wants to go to Java with her for coffee. He accepts! - Back at the apartment, Dan puts on his shirt and nervously buttons it. Knock knock! Tis Jen, wearing a pretty polka dot dress and a smile. He nervously welcomes her and pours them a glass of wine. He compliments her earrings. She is sure this will be fun. They shyly toast to a wonderful evening. - Back at Maggie's, she implores Victor to let go of his anger. The Greek tycoon reasons his anger is correct and justified, after what Chloe did to his family. Therefore, he cannot forgive. Maggie is sorry, but she cannot have him in her life that way. He is sorry too. She opens the door. He slowly walks away. The redhead shuts the door and looks ready to cry. - Chloe drinks at the Cheatin Heart, feeling sorry for herself. A rugged Australian heartthrob (Quinn) approaches and asks to buy her a drink. She smiles and tells him to have a seat! He is at her side in an instant! - Mel and Dario return to the hospital from Java Café. She is sorry she had to come back so soon and gets paged. He grins they have to do it again sometime. As friends. She smiles and flirts that would be cool. - Back at the pub, Rafe 2 wonders what key Sami had, then concludes it must be the key to the safe house. He grins wickedly. So that was where she went! - Back at the convent, Rafe is sitting up in bed. He tells the nun he feels better and finally knows precisely where he has to go ... Next on Days of Our Lives "You are going to stay married to me for the rest of your life!" Nicole gleefully informs EJ. Sami hits the wall of the safe house, her eyes filled with tears. "I want him back!" Rafe 2 snaps at Gabi like a dangerous wiseguy. "You stay the hell outta my business, okay?! You got it?!" |
