Monday, January 17, 2011 up at 5:15 pm est January 14 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. LINK ONLY! VIVIAN IS AN ISLAND! - EJ stares at a photo of Johnny on his desk at the mansion, then sits down with a sigh. Enter Stefano. EJ states the nurse said Johnny needed rest. Stefano has something to tell him, but so does Elvis and he wants to go first! He later returns from getting Sydney back to sleep and pours himself a good stiff drink. Stefano awaits. What did he want to tell him? EJ takes a drink to steel his nerves. He now explains the negotiation he made with God, which Samantha overheard. He offered some futures. The phoenix realizes he is reluctant to tell him. EJ states he promised he would end his feud with Samantha if God saved Johnny's sight. For it to work, he must be sincere. He therefore wants Samantha to be a part of Johnny and Sydney's lives. She did overhear, after all. Stefano reminds him they still must wait. EJ agrees they will wait and see what kind of life his son will have, The phoenix admits he is tired of them living in a war zone. How long is EJ's contract with God going to last? Once he knows that Giovanni is safe, will he kick Samantha out again? EJ gets intense. "This is one contract that I intend to keep - forever!" Stefano wonders about Nicole. Are they still getting married? EJ alludes to the fact that it is not necessary anymore. He admits he is trying to control his emotions so that he does not start screaming. Stefano is sorry. EJ numbly states he does not know what he will do if they tell him that his son cannot see. Papa phoenix hugs him and gives him a reassuring pat on the back. EJ now asks what he wanted to share with him ... - Kate has a bag packed. She is leaving the Kiriakis mansion as Victor enters. She is going to Stefano's. Vic makes a snide remark about her being hard up for cash. When she informs the Greek tycoon of Johnny's situation, he is sorry and understands, though he is concerned that her safety could be at risk. Kate insists Viv has been taken care of. Victor now wants the juicy deets. Kate shows him the coordinates of that deserted little isle they have even named after Viv. Vic cackles. He now believes Kate is safe and asks her to tell Stefano he hopes for good news for him. Once she is gone, he stares at the map and grins. - Kate enters DiMera mansion and EJ is stunned when Stefano informs him that Katherine is spending the night. He tries to be cordial. Stefano admits he needs his wife. EJ thanks Kate for taking care of his fatha. She insists Stefano go test his blood sugar. He goes off to do just that. Elvis offers Kate a drink. She thanks him for his nice welcome. She offers him words of encouragement and hopes he will have good news. Once Kate goes to Stefano, EJ impatiently decides he will not sit around waiting. - On the desert island, Viv is miffed that Gus is not working as a lookout in the tree. He searches for the supplies they were dropped, and demands to know what she did with the food. She has put it in a safe place, and reminds him she is management, he is mere labor. He calls her Margaret Thatcher and declares that brute strength will triumph ... Vivian the most unsuccessful fisherman later tries to open a can of smeat, but Gus taunts he has the can opener. - Chloe approaches Carly at the hospital. She makes small talk about the hearing, but Carly knows she is only there to see Daniel, so she is not very friendly. She explains he needed a break after the tough surgery on Johnny DiMera's second eye. Chloe is sympathetic. She does not think he should be alone. Carly suggests she call him herself. She will not be the go between. Besides, they are not even friends! - In Maggie's kitchen, Mel stands up and accuses apologetic Steph of trying to kill her. They are about to go at it again when Brady enters and pulls Steph back. "What is going on?!" Mel's eyes focus on the fallen pregnancy options papers. Steph gets sarcastic. Mel quips Steph is upset cos Nath found out what she was like and then dumped her. Brady thinks Steph should go. Steph makes a snide remark about hoping Mel has no prenup with Phil and haughtily departs. Brady stops mad Mel from going after her and wants to know what is the matter. Melanie continues to complain about Steph and tries to hide the papers. Brady wants to see what they are. He has a look. "You're pregnant?" He calls Phil a one man population explosion. Mel laments she would have been a great Kiriakis wife. She was even reading a book about Greeks. Now she has what she wanted - a baby - though it is certainly ironic. Brady gives her a hug and she murmurs she does not think she will ever be happy again. She swears Brady to secrecy. He gathers she is thinking of terminating the pregnancy. It is her decision, but whatever she decides, she should have a friend. He offers to be there for her. Mel fears Phil and Victor would never let it go but she does not want the baby of Phillip Kiriakis, whom she now hates. However, she was worried she had hurt the baby when she fell ... Brady reminds her she has family so there is no need to be alone. She does not want to tell papa Dan, given what he has been through. She suddenly remembers Chloe suspecting she was preggers and becomes worried. - At the pub, Steph overhears Nath on the phone, turning down the job at John Hopkins, as he cannot relocate at the moment. She bitterly states he refused the fellowship all for Mel. He thinks this is more about her hatred for Mel than her concern for his career. She accuses him of letting Mel string him along, just the way she wants to, while she is the wife of Phillip Kiriakis. She warns him to remember how it was already when he tried with Mel. It did not end well for him and the same will happen again! Nath suggests she take a good look at herself. - Down at the pier, Chloe meets up with Phil, complaining that Dan is no taking her calls. So much for that plan to ambush him. Phil charmingly offers to babysit anytime she needs help. Chloe gets mad and advises him to just forget he is Parker's father. Phil's face falls. He will never forget he is his son and he plans to be part of his life. Chloe does not want him to be part of the picture. He must stay away so Daniel can get past what she did. Phil refuses and insists Dan will not forget they have a child together. Chloe gives Melanie as a reason he should stay away. Phil notes it would be delusional for him to think Mel would take him back. Chloe now drops a bomb."I think Melanie's pregnant." Phil peers at her with his blue eyes. "Oh my God," he whispers. Chloe explains she seemed sick and begged her not to tell anyone. He has the right to know if she is having a baby - and that is the baby he should be raising! - Maggie has a word with Victor at the Kiriakis mansion. She is there to pick up Melanie's remaining belongings. She notices the unusual map and wonders if he is planning a trip - or preparing an exit strategy, Victor gets defensive. Maggie reminds him he was bested by Viv. He wonders why she is on her side, after what she did to her. Maggie is sorry. She was upset about Mel. He disagrees with her apology and asks after Melanie. The redhead sighs there is nothing anyone can do. She hopes Viv is not upstairs, as she would rather not see her. Victor drawls she is not there. Maggie wonders where she is. Victor does not answer. - At the hospital, Mel drops by to get her schedule and runs into mama Carly. She admits she was happy to hear she did not lose her medical license. Mel is also proud Dan and Carly helped Johnny and notes having a baby must be scary. Carly smiles sometimes it is. Mel suddenly gets misty-eyed. "If you could do it over, would you still have me?" Carly lets her know how she has given her a reason for getting up in the morning. It is worth it and Mel is the best thing that ever could have happened to her! She also hopes Mel will experience that kind of happiness when she has a daughter of her own. Mel pouts. - On the island, Viv is smug that Gus has not been able to find the food she has been stockpiling. He informs her he spelled out HELP with palm leaves on the other side of the island. He will be rescued alone! He starts to leave, then stops. He cannot do it. Madame wistfully wonders what happened to their good relationship and hands him the can of smeat as a peace offering. He announces he will serve her first. Vivian declares they must never let this happen again and must remember who the real enemy is - the Kiriakis clan ... - Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Maggie once more wonders where Viv is. Victor claims he knows not. She takes the map and asks what V.A. stands for. All of a sudden it dawns on her. What has he done to Vivian now! - At the pub, Nath angrily tells Steph they are not together because of her and her insecurities. She cries she cannot believe what she did to hold onto him. He was not worth it! Nath concludes he could not make her happy and apparently nobody can. He walks out and Steph continues sniffling ... - Brady walks along the snowy pier and snaps at his Titan contact on the phone to just take those confidential files, given that Vivian Alamain is not around. Chloe comes around the corner and asks where the real Brady Black is. He quips she is not any better these days. Chloe woefully agrees they have both changed and not for the better .... - Back at DiMera mansion, EJ calls out to Mary that he is en route to the hospital when he gets a call from Carly. Johnny is awake and they are ready to remove his bandages. EJ is on his way ... - Back at Maggie's, Mel has just ripped up and placed the abortion papers in the garbage when there is an impatient knock at the door. Tis none other than Phil. "You have to tell me. Are you carrying our baby ...?!" Next on Days of Our Lives "I am never gonna tell you where Hope is," Bo drawls to the wicked warden. Mel glares at Phil. "Thinking about you makes me sick!" Dr. Lexie informs Sami, EJ, Rafe, and Nicole that the docs are ready to remove the bandages. |
