The doctors explain to Sami they want to get the cancer before it spreads. Sami gets upset they did not catch it sooner. And what if they do not get it all? Lexie repeats it is best not to speculate and Sami is reduced to tears. Rafe puts his arms around her and she cries on his shoulder like a baby. She gets herself together and apologizes. Dr. Kim understands and wants them to proceed. The fam are concerned Johnny will lose his eye. Dan assures them they will try to save the eye. The sooner they get to it, the better. EJ realizes they will do what they think is best. However, they need permission from both parents to do what they need to do, even if that means removing the eye. Dan informs them that they will use the laser to eradicate the cancer cells. Sami wants his assurances that it will work. They soon realizes there is no choice and give their consent. But first they will be able to see Johnny and update him. Sami hopes they did the right thing as she sits with Rafe. EJ stands up and drawls they have no choice. Nicole approaches. Is there anything she can do? EJ admits there is. He asks her to call Mary and have her bring Sydney down. He praises her for catching the problem early enough for them to treat. Meanwhile Rafe has texted Will and asked him to come to the hospital with Ally. They will explain when they arrive. Sami hopes for a miracle. Rafe drawls she deserves one. Sami laments she and EJ do not deserve a miracle. She feels this is bad karma, for the things she has done. Rafe tries to keep her spirits up. Lexie informs EJ that little groggy Johnny is now awake. She is so sorry and hugs her brother. EJ clears his throat and decides to see his son. Lexie advises him to see him with Sami. EJ does just that. After they enter the boy's room, Lexie tells Rafe that Sami is lucky to have him. He grins, then sighs. Nicole comes back from calling Mary. She sadly states this whole thing is horrible and gets teary-eyed about sweet Johnny. After he ran away, she tells Rafe, he assured her he did not dislike her even though he did not want her to marry his daddy. Rafe chuckles. Nicole marvels at how strong he is. Rafe notes she really loves him. Nicole whispers she does indeed. In Johnny's room, his parents sit at his bedside. Sami must tell him the doctor will be doing another operation on his eye. He exclaims he does not want another one. Together Sami and EJ explain to their son that the doctors just want to get all the cancer. Johnny is scared. EJ promises him they are there for him together - his mother and father. - In the dingy room, Stefano reminds the warden she was supposed to take care of this problem. Now what? He soon realizes she is thinking of putting the commissioner on her organ assembly line and calls her an idiot. Bo Brady is the only link to getting to Hope Brady, her real problem. "He has to be alive!" Bo, meanwhile, is tied up, blindfolded, and unconscious. Stefano growls that as long as Hope Brady is out there, the former cop knows what to do and the organ ring could end up front page news. The warden had underestimated her, it seems. Bo starts to stir ... "Where the hell am I? Who's there?" The wicked warden leers she is his wife's worst nightmare! He recognizes the voice and wants the blindfold removed. The warden obliges (Stefano is gone). Warden Jane demands to know where his wife is. "You tell me where Hope is - or your life as you know it is kaput!" Bo gives her a defiant, macho look and she storms out. - Hope sits at the computer, nervously awaiting, looking at emails. She does some hacking for the good guys and grins. "Gotcha!" Now to see what Bo was looking at ...She gets into the warden's computer and reads that the accomplice has been taken prisoner. Oh oh. The bad guys have Bo! - Will and Gabi are necking on a bench down at the pier. She coyly pulls away and smiles that they have to work on their papers. Will grins he is distracted cos she is so pretty. She reminds him they also have a biology test. Will thinks they have that subject covered and kisses her some more. - Stefano returns to the mansion, only to be told by British butler Harold that the wedding is off. Nicole and EJ took Master Johnny to the hospital, as they were concerned about his other eye. The phoenix leaves a nervous voice mail for EJ to call him, then manages to reach Lexie at the hospital. She updates him that Johnny's cancer has spread to the other eye and he requires immediate surgery. Stefano sits down and is dismayed they might take his other eye. He wants Elvis to call him when he can and asks Lexie to let him know if there is anything he can do. He then makes another call and orders someone to meet him pronto! Stefano now meets Ben Walters at the pier. He needs a donor eye immediately! Ben is sorry, but no can do. The science for such a thing does not yet exist. Ben states he is not in their operation to make money, he only cares about saving lives. But the phoenix is mad he cannot save his grandson. Ben insists he wants to help all patients and complains the supply is just not there, despite his appeal to the warden. The warden is not listening to him, so what is boss Stefano going to do about it? The phoenix exclaims that he cannot speed up organ production like a factory. Ben snaps he wants to save more lives. Stefano laments this is also personal to him. He once almost died himself when a donor could not be found. He is extremely upset that his grandson is not eligible. Ben is sorry. "God help that little boy," sighs the phoenix. - Back at the hospital, Nicole wants a word with Daniel. Meanwhile,Carly approaches Rafe and wonders how EJ and Sami will get through the next couple of hours ... In Johnny's room, Sami and EJ promise not to fight. Johnny is scared. Sami starts to list all the people who love him. Johnny adds Rafe. EJ agrees and adds his own family members, then the teachers and friends at school. He calls the lad the finest boy in the whole world. Sami agrees. She assures Johnny everyone is praying for him ... Enter Will carrying Ally. Johnny is excited to see his twin, who gives him a hug. She sweetly promises if he cannot see, she will see for him. Sami plays with the kids. EJ thanks Will for bringing Ally. Will replies it was Rafe's idea. EJ calls it a good idea. He also appreciates Will being so good to his children. He thinks Will is sensitive and kind. Will refers to the past and gets sarcastic. EJ reminds him to be respectful. Miffed Will starts to say something but Sami intervenes. She implores EJ to accept they are all important to Johnny and after his operation, he will need all of them. EJ quips she does not need to tell him how important family is. Enter sister Lexie, and she thinks Sami is absolutely right to remind him of that ...! Nicole speaks privately with Dan and brings up what he has been through lately. Is he really up for this? Dan gets defensive. Carly steps up and snaps this is not Nicole's business. Dr. Dan declares he can handle it. He assures Nicole this is not about ego. He is the best man to try and save Johnny's eye. Nicole cries she is sorry, she is just scared. She walks away in tears. Carly thinks it was classy of Dan to explain himself to her, as he did not have to. Dan understands her concern, due to all the emotional baggage lately. Carly points out these days who doesn't have emotional baggage! - The warden calls Lee and instructs her to purge all incriminating files, as she suspects Hope Brady has access to a computer. Lee tries, and then discovers that someone has already been into the warden's accounts. The warden sighs and decides to give her new, improved instructions ... - Back at the hospital, Lexie lectures EJ to let Johnny have all his family around him. He will and allows Sami takes Sydney in to see her brother. Nicole hands Sydney to Sami and she emotionally takes her princess in her arms, walking back to Johnny's room. Everyone is soon in the room, laughing, gathered like a family. Nicole stands by EJ's side. Lexie comes and states it is time. Nicole promises to make Johnny a great big ice cream sundae to taste once he is better. Rafe calls his little FBI man the strongest guy he ever met. EJ stares as they hug. Sami is all smiles. - Dr. Dan and Dr. Carly prepare for surgery. She wonders if he will be comfortable working with her and offers to get a replacement. - The warden meets Lee in the woods. Lee states she has taken care of the computer situation as ordered. When they find Hope, she will be done too! She now hands the warden some truth serum to inject into Bo. The warden returns to Bo, who has proceeded to untie his hands behind his back. She is ready for plan B and suddenly injects him with the truth serum. Soon he will tell her exactly what she wants to know about where Hope is! - Back at the boat, Hope realizes something is wrong on her computer ... - At the hospital, Dan assures Carly he wants her to assist him.They work well together and she on the team means the best care they have. Carly thanks him. Colleagues still ... - EJ has Johnny's hand in his and tells him he loves him very much, as does his mother. Johnny innocently touches their faces so that he will remember them. "Just in case." His bed is wheeled out. Sami promises they will be right here waiting for him. Once he is gone, she collapses in tears. EJ reaches out and holds her tenderly in his arms ... Next on Days of Our Lives "You ruined everything for me and now you're gonna answer for it!" Steph leers at Mel, ready for action. Phil punches Nath in the face but hard! "Is that really what you want for your son?" Sami sobs to a subdued EJ. |
