At the comfy condo, Marlena hands John a mug and sips her own coffee. She updates him that Carrie is having a tough time. He sighs and she notices something is the matter. He did not want to say last night but something might complicate their lives. She smiles nothing can change their good and strong marriage. He, however, has something to add to that. "Technically, legally, I'm married to Hope." Her face falls. Once she has heard the whole sordid tale, Marlena damns Stefano. John promises they will weather this storm. She angrily snaps how much more do they have to take. She wants to go see Stefano in person. John stops her from going for the showdown. She wants to KILL Stefano! John argues now is the time to stick together, to keep their cool. She laments she is tired of it. He understands and holds her in his strong arms. They need to stay strong for their descendants. Marlena declares the phoenix will never control them again. What comes next? John thinks they should keep going with their lives. She makes a joke and wonders how he stays so calm. He notes the certificate of marriage could be a fake. And if not and he is married to Hope, then there will be a quickie annulment and he and his blonde will have an amazing wedding. All he cares about is having her for the rest of his life. He offers to take her out for breakfast. She has a better idea and they start to kiss passionately. - Hope wakes up and reaches for the marriage certificate. Bo gets back in bed with their coffee and assures her they will solve this problem. She wishes it were just a bad dream. He, however, insists they know they are married to each other in their hearts and that is all that counts. He will love her until the day he dies! They embrace. Bo expects to hear from his pal shortly, to find out if the certificate is even legit. And no matter what comes, they are a team. They kiss. He views this situation as ironic. Back in their father/son fishing days, Pop used to tell him the story of Pandora's box, which also had hope at the bottom. He grins Stefano will never comprehend their love, how much they share. She whispers he never could. Bo reminds her he has loved her the best part of his life. The phoenix will never win! They start to kiss ... - Carrie opens the door to the office. Rafe stirs in his chair. She is sorry she woke him up and suggests she come back later. He tells her to stay and sighs Sami kicked him out. He asks about Austin. Carrie complains he did not come home all night. Rafe pours himself a glass of water and assures her Austin will come home. She fears it will make no difference. Rafe can relate as Sami did not accept his apology. They now discuss the kiss. They do not get how it happened. Carrie thinks that she should have seen it coming. She and Austin have certainly been having their fair share of problems. They had a long, tortured road to the altar. Rafe has heard, but he also heard afterwards they were on solid ground as a couple. She confides that things changed when they returned to Salem. She believed they would have time for the family with their work schedule, though things got complicated fast. Rafe can relate and points out they have a decision to make. She should find herself another investigator. She wants to know whether it is also what he wants. He drawls it is what has to happen. Their working together is not a good thing. She agrees there are consequences for their actions. Besides, their business was not doing that great. What will he do now? He plans to save his marriage and get Sami to forgive him. Carrie puts on a brave face and assures him Sami loves him. She would be an idiot to let him go! He thanks her and hands her his key. She gives it back to him. He can pack up his stuff when he wants. He thanks her for understanding. She bravely wishes him luck. He picks up his coat and his bag, shakes her hand, and walks out the door, though his eyes are filled with turmoil. Carrie sits down at the desk and looks ready to cry. She flashes back to kissing Rafe. The door starts to open and she exclaims she is so glad he came back, wrongly assuming it is Rafe ... - Austin has fallen asleep on the sofa, the vodka bottle out of his reach. She-devil Abigail has stripped down to her bra and underwear and lies down beside him. He starts to wake up and the vixen wishes him a good morning, acting like they have slept together. He is stunned and hopes he is dreaming. She insists it is real and starts to kiss him. Austin is at a loss what to do! He sits up with a groan and a hangover. She jiggles around and offers to get him some aspirin for his headache. He advises her to put some clothes on. She giggles they would not want anyone walking in. He now notices the vodka bottle. She gushes she was there for him, but he has no memory of the night before. She purrs she proved last night she would do ANYTHING for him! She now tells him how long she has had feelings for him, how many times she has fantasized about them. Last night was like a dream. Austin stammers he drank a lot. He only remembers fragments, like he kissed her, though he does not remember them sleeping together. Abigail blinks and flashes back to him passing out as they were kissing, how she stripped down to her lingerie but could not wake him up. Austin is sorry if he hurt her feelings. It is all just a blur. He considers her a great friend, plus she is a student. He is terribly sorry he took advantage. She insists he did not. "Last night was really special to me." He looks ready to be sick. He sits up and calls her a loyal friend. He is grateful. She interrupts and talks about their feelings. Now things have changed and they can be together. Last night changed their lives and she is so happy. The obsessed girl really believes it. He explains last night was a mistake. He happens to be a married man. She argues Carrie broke her vows and refuses to accept what he is saying. She babbles she must go to class but will meet him for dinner later for a chat. Exit Abigail. Austin is flabbergasted.
