Soap Sins August 9, 2012 CHAPTER 44 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. LINK ONLY! ONE FULL MOON! Previously on SOAP SINS - "Drag is our golden boy," Chip the producer declared, then suddenly took the cigar out of his mouth and turned a whiter shade of pale. "But please tell me he's not a practicing vampire." - Dakota the soap star/co-executive producer placed the hat back upon her head. "I can't because I don't know so until we do, we will have to be verrrry careful with any night shoots ..." The story now continues ... - Dakota's house in the Hollywood Hills was a mess the following day, as an earthquake had struck during the night. Nick, who had become rather superstitious since the last time he cheated death, said it was an omen. That was his reason for not helping out and taking off to a party he had been invited to at a certain playboy mansion. He insisted the invite had been in the making while he was still a bachelor. Dakota didn't mind him going to the house of plastic and rubber girls, she was just miffed he had an excuse to leave the house when there was no housekeeper in sight. She would have to put things back in order herself. Once alone, she chided herself for marrying a Hollywood actor. They never wanted to get their manicured hands dirty with mundane chores. In the next life, she would steer clear of good looking actors with boyish grins, she decided. In the next life ... - The loud ringing of the phone snapped her back to reality. Her reality, that is. She recognized the number immediately. The call was from the show location coordinator Mario. - "Chip wanted me to tell you where our next scene will be shot, even though you're not in it. He had to catch a plane to Europe this morning." - Dakota was not surprised. He had missed the Olympics but was not about to miss out on seeing his secret girlfriend in London before the summer was over. It seemed she would have to deal with the cliffhanger without him. "Tell me where and when and I'll be there." She reached for a pencil and pad, feeling very much like a woman in charge. - "Tonight at the Hanging Forest Cafe." - The pencil and pad were dropped to the floor and she felt her mouth fall open. "Tonight as in night time?????" - "Yup. Chip thought it would be good to introduce the show vampire when there is a full moon out. See you there." Click. - Dakota the spoiled soap star wanted to scream and throw things, but Dakota the new co-executive producer had a point to prove. She could raise the ratings further from the ashes. And so she managed to soon make her way to the dimly lit cafe before anyone else had arrived. She would simply cancel the shoot with the vampire tonight and reschedule for the following day. Daylight would ensure everyone's safety. After all, Dragos, the new hunk on the show, was descended from a bona fide vampire. One could not be too careful. - When she arrived at the cafe, the California sun was already starting to give way to the dark night. She knew she had to act fast. No one from the show seemed to have gotten there yet so she explained who she was to the European manager. He informed her that the shoot had been scheduled to occur in the outdoor section of the restaurant. - "Terrific," she muttered and walked out to the terrace of tables and chairs, which were surrounded by semi-lit trees, trees, and more trees. One truly had the feeling of being in a forest. - "Good evening." - Dakota turned around and found herself face to face with Dragos. He was dressed like a GQ model and peered at her with dark, intelligent eyes. They were all alone. "You are looking for someone?" - "Just the waiter," she stammered as the full moon became visible through some branches. - "Ah," replied Dragos with a smirk. "There was a waiter here but no more. He has regrettably gone to the other side. Would you care to join him ...?" |
