The Producer

- When Dakota approached the producer's office, tall, blonde Brent
was already there, flirting with the receptionist. The girl giggled and he explained "I'm not invited to the meeting. Only the major players are." Dakota nodded and knocked at the door. She wondered if the new receptionist knew Brent slept with all the girls under the age of 30 who worked upstairs. No answer. Dakota knocked again.
- The receptionist blew a bubble with the pink gum she was chewing. "He's not there yet but you can go right in and wait."
- Dakota entered the office without a word. The three other "major players" of the show were already sitting on the plush leather sofa. Despite the fact that he was drunk again, Bill, her leading man, stood
up and offered her his seat. Everyone loved Bill. Even the PR people who scrambled to bring him coffee and sober him up during interviews turned a blind eye to the boozing. She thanked him for the offer of his seat but sat in the leather armchair that looked more like a throne to her.
Tammy, the young blonde heroine of the show, laughed, and said the diva had chosen the best seat. Dakota laughed too, Hollywood style,
and flashed her pearly whites. Tammy was a nice enough girl, though
not as nice as the public thought. In contrast with her sweet character, she partied so much it made Paris Hilton seem like a housewife. Not a desperate one, though. Tammy's leading man was Dominic, who was
tall, dark, handsome, and the most normal person in the cast. Acting
was just a job to him. He was presently seated next to Bill, not Tammy, because the truth was, he and his leading lady Tammy the partier simply couldn't stand each other.
- An unassuming man with a nervous walk rushed in and apologized for being late. This was Chip, the producer, and like most other Hollywood producers, he was so busy he could hardly keep track of anything he had said the week before. He sat at his mahogany desk and got straight to the point. "There has been a leaked script." Pause. "And we are just thrilled about it!"
- Dakota raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow. Tammy giggled. Bill's eyes glazed over in confusion. Dominic waited for the boss to continue. Chip gestured like a politician. "The fact that a script was leaked got attention on the online entertainment news, which translated to more interest in
the show." He went on to point out that was a good thing, did his usual song and dance about numbers and profits, and then the meeting was over. The four major actors of the show all said that was a good thing, and were told to return to the studio.
- Dakota was in a hurry to get back to her dressing room and go online, to check if anyone had bothered to mention she would be singing on
the episode of the leaked script. Before she got there, she was met in
the hall by the minion of the prime time star of the studio a few doors down. The prime time show shooting a few doors down from the soap was a hugely successful drama about a doctor. The actor playing said doctor drove various cars as big as his ego. In private, Dakota called him the prime time pr*ck. His minion had a message. "You have to move your car. You're in one of his parking spots." Dakota was not amused. She stormed out the door to the parking lot, only to bump into the prime time pr*ck himself. She felt like breaking her Prada shoe over his prime time head ...
