- Dan whispers he accepts Nicole’s apology. She thanks him profusely and is about to hug him, then stops. She is on her way out when she
spies the printout from Jen. She wonders what it is. Info on a new treatment. He is meeting the doctor today. Nicole now learns that Jen arranged it. He admits there are risks but if it works, he could be a surgeon again. She notes that means the world to him and is glad Jen is looking out for him. Dan mutters she is a good … friend. He shows Nicole to the door and informs her he should be receiving his injection within the hour. He will know more later today. She wishes him luck
and smiles she will see him around. He closes the door. She takes a deep breath, then deduces the widow Jen must be keeping him at bay, since
he referred to them as friends only. Nicole is intrigued. She decides to go find out for herself and marches off.

At the rectory, Kristen muses Eric never was one to beat around the bush. It seems the priesthood has not changed him. He questions if she has changed.  She certainly hopes so and talks redemption. Father Eric believes she deserves to be forgiven if she is truly sorry and has resolved to change her ways, lead a different life. She thanks him and insists God has forgiven her. Marlena is another matter. He notes she would need hard work to prove herself. Kristen smirks she knows exactly what she needs to do!

Nicole knocks at the front door of Horton house. It opens. She prevents Abigail from slamming the door on her by apologizing and claiming she
is concerned for Jen, who used to cry herself to sleep. Is she still lonely? Abigail snaps she is trying to get over what Nicole did to her and losing Jack. But when her mother is ready to move on with a man like Dr. Jonas, she certainly has her support. She slams the door. Nicole is over the moon. She now has conformation of what she had suspected.

At the hospital, Maggie finds Daniel filling out the forms. She begs him
to wait until the unknown drug has been further tested. She does not want her son to be the guinea pig. He breathes he has made up his mind and is willing to do what he must in order to become a practicing surgeon again. He walks away. Maggie sighs unhappily. She has a very bad feeling …

Back at the rectory, Kristen fishes in her expensive handbag for a check from DiMera to the church’s school building fund. Eric excuses himself to attend a family obligation. The older priest remains. Kristen laments
it must be in her hotel. Can she give it to him tomorrow? Old Father Tobias thinks it matters not but she also has something else on her mind. Just as Brady arrives at the door, she asks if he would be willing to hear her confession. Brady conceals himself and eavesdrops!

Back at the pub, Caroline is reading the newspaper and notes Salem has not been dull during her absence. She and Roman discuss Nicole’s antics. Caroline feels sorry for Jen. Roman drawls it was rough on her, kisses
his ma, and must get going. Caroline now sighs about poor Daniel. Eric enters with a smile and greeting for his grandma, then realizes something is the matter. Does she recognize him? He fears perhaps the doctor was wrong.

Nicole calls and leaves a message for Eric that she is taking his job after all. She also thanks him for nudging her toward Daniel and gushes she has a brand new perspective!

Abigail and Jen arrive at the hospital. Jen decides to check on Daniel. Maggie says nothing. Abigail wishes she were not angry at her mother. Maggie thinks these stakes are too high. Her son’s life could be ruined!

Jen visits Dan in his room and offers him words of encouragement. Dr. Lewis enters and Dan is thrilled to meet him. Lewis has been going over his test results to determine where he will place the injections. As he examines his hands, he asks whether he signed the release forms. Indeed he did. Dan understands the risks and is fully prepared to proceed.

Marlena spies John happily talking on his phone at the town square and deduces Brady must have convinced Kristen to keep her silence about their run-in. she wonders what she is up to now …

Kristen opts for a face-to-face confession in lieu of the usual church confessional. Curious Brady listens at the slightly ajar door. Kristen begins. She knows she has done some terrible things and there is one
thing that stands out. It is the one thing that she regrets the most. She melodramatically adds she now fears she is on the path to making the same mistake again! A frown creases Brady’s brow as he keeps listening and waits with bated breath to hear her truth ...!
