Tis Sailor Moon Jen, who confronts him with her research, which he then threw in the garbage. He replies it was too complicated for him to explain. The truth is, there could be side effects that would preclude him from trying any other treatment. She reminds him he is the brave medicine man who swims with the sharks. He, however, does not want to risk more disappointment. Jen is sympathetic but urges him to look at the research again. No matter what happens, he will not be alone. She touches his arm. He gives her a longing look. - At his holy office, as a statue of the Virgin Mary looks on, Eric gives Nicole water and reminds her they were great friends. She bitterly adds until she broke his noble heart in the name of 5 million dollars. He will not judge her but she suspects he will change his mind once he hears what she has done. - Sami is at her office, getting off a call in Japanese. She tells the contact thank you. EJ drawls she has a good accent. He is sure Mr. Nakimoto was impressed. She glances up and wants to know how he knew that. He muses she did not get the memo that he is taking over his sister’s responsibilities effective immediately, then roguishly admits he did not send one. “You now work for me.” He casually sits down. Sami had assumed Kristen took great delight in pushing her around. EJ explains her family meant more. He assures her he is here as an independent, not back in the DiMera fold. Sami quips she thought he would have higher aspirations than dealing with powder puffs and lipstick ,like running for office. He adds her mother also had something to say. Sami sighs she always does. EJ wonders what Sami said when she pressed her to quit. That she could not and she is good at her job. He promises her there is no need to be nervous. She is not and she is glad to be out from under Kristen’s thumb, but questions his motives. She gets back to typing as he watches. - Marlena and John chat at the coffee house. She does not think his resigning from the board will deter Kristen. But she is elated and relieved when he adds Kristen will no longer be Sami’s boss. John declares that when she is upset, he is upset. He reminds her that she has always been his better half and he would be a fool not to listen to her. She gushes she will always remind him. He charmingly winks she will not have to! - Outside, Kristen resists the mugger and they struggle over her handbag. Brady the hero races to the rescue and proceeds to punch the mugger … until mugger number two emerges and clobbers him over the head as Kristen screams to look out. Too late! Brady goes down! Kristen cries out in horror. - Sami points out this might not seem any better than her working for Kristen in the eyes of her family. EJ encourages her to say what is on her mind. - Kristen gets her phone out and calls 911 as Brady lies motionless. The thugs take off. - At the pub, Chad and Abigail enjoy their coffee as little Theo downs his ice cream. Chad asks him to slow down. The lad complains it is melting so Chad helps himself. The boy is thirsty so Chad steps away to pour him water. Abigail gets napkins and they talk. He is glad she came. She is too. They both think it is nice they are smiling again. She was relieved to have an excuse to get away from the hospital. They talk Cameron. She feels what happened was all her fault. Chad laments he misses Mel and feels it was his fault she left. He has not given up hope about her returning soon. Abigail is sorry that no one had bothered to tell him. Mel is staying in Europe with her mom forever! She now asks what happened between himself, her, and Gabi. Chad has become very uncommunicative. - Jen murmurs that selfless Dan takes care of everyone but himself. He insists he does not need her to take care of him and stands up, taking a sip of his drink. She stands up too and assures him many people care about him and they are not going anywhere. He whispers OK and agrees to consider. Se gushes that is good and their faces get close. He will not say more for now. She will not ask more for now. She suddenly pulls back and takes her leave, insisting he will not regret it. Once she has departed, he looks down with a sigh. - Sami assures EJ she loves this job and knows that she is here thanks to him. He is convinced their working together will be a wonderful experience. She gets a file and he repeats himself. She suspects he has an idea. He does for a new product line that will require them working together intimately. He hopes that will not pose a problem. No, but she hopes this is not about them. He claims there is no them and points out it is getting late and she has a family to go home to. She does not mind working late but he declares she has a private life and tells her to go and kiss their kids goodnight. She thanks him, must pass by him closely to get to the door, and says thank you in Japanese. He says the same and grins like a Cheshire cat - Eric wants nervous Nicole to forget he is wearing a white collar. He believes telling him her tale will be helpful. She decides he will hear the whole sordid story sooner or later so he might as well hear it from her lips ... - Marlena apologizes to John for Kristen making her ... out of sorts. He understands. She feels that Kristen is her enemy, not John, and needs to remind herself. He gets it and grins he hopes she feels better. She does indeed. They exchange I love yous and a mini-kiss. Marlena now realizes she has a patient to call. There is no power in here with her phone so he gallantly hands her his phone and offers her some privacy,stepping away. Marlena is grateful. - Kristen is desperate for an ambulance and urges Brady to hang in there, keeping his head elevated. She now calls John and leaves an urgent voice message, exclaiming that his son has been attacked. He should meet them at the hospital! - Meanwhile, Marlena calls and leaves a voice message for her missed appointment. She now sees John has a message from Kristen. Sami's mom gets a devious look in her eye and deletes the unheard message! John obliviously sips his coffee in the corner and she returns to him. - As sirens are heard approaching, Kristen is relieved that Brady has started to stir. She urges him to hang tight and assures him he will be fine. But there will be no family waiting at the hospital, due to Marlena’s mischief ... END |
