BETRAYED - Part 2 - Abe sarcastically wonders if Lexie believes his answer will be he cheated just like her brother. Lexie agrees he is honest and has integrity. She is sorry. Abe remarks it is all EJ's fault. He insists he did not cheat. Lexie throws her arms around him in relief. Jen's eyes are filled with worry. Lexie regrets doubting him and gushes how lucky she is to be his wife. Theo is lucky to have such a father to look up to. She must go and pick him up but first thanks Jen for all her hard work for Abe. She tells Abe she loves him and departs. Jen is sorry. Abe laments that is the first time he has lied to his lovely wife. He suspects he will have to pay for this one day. Jen suggests he blame her for making him cheat. However, if EJ had won the debate, he would have won the election. Abe thinks the costs are too high. Jen insists it is worth it to keep cheater EJ out of the mayor's office. Abe is not so sure. Now he fears he is no better. He lied to his wife. If she ever found out, she would never forgive him. NEVER. - Nicole and EJ regroup at the town square café. EJ complains they would be found out for trying to cheat if they called attention to what Abe did. Nicole smirks they can still up the ante. EJ chuckles then things could get interesting. They agree Abe's personal life will get interesting too and EJ drinks to that! He obsesses about why Abe is too dull for his sister. Nicole points out he also made two mistakes. He got his hands dirty and lied to his trusting wife. EJ likes the way she is thinking and kisses her on the lips. They laugh and make up possible headlines about the exposed liar. EJ proposes another toast. "Those who muck with us get mucked!" His opponent will now lose not only the election, but also his wife! Nicole remarks he and Stefano have wanted to bring Lexie back to the family fold for a long time. She can help him make that happen. EJ grins and kisses her again. - Carrie implores Austin to believe her. Upset Austin recalls how she and Rafe have become inseparable. Teary-eyed Carrie explains they were celebrating the new case. Austin, his voice shaking, notes she and Rafe have a bond. She promises it will never happen again. He wonders if she can keep that promise. - Sami and Rafe enter the loft. She stares at their pretty wedding vows renewal photograph. He notices her coldness and suggests they put this behind them. She does not believe they can! - Kate and Stefano are playing chess. He has just told her the big secret he discovered about Alice's clan. "My God!" says she. Kate suspects at first no one will believe it. Stefano points out Hope's life is built on facts, so she will want to know all the facts before long. He now remembers the envelope of what Alice had on him. Kate offers to open the thing and discard it if it is unimportant. Stefano explains he and he alone must deal with whatever she left him to face. Kate pities Hope for her curiosity and need to know the truth, for many lives will be changed if she opens her envelope. Stefano grumbles the same may hold true for his envelope. Kate reminds him he has always been the master of his own destiny. The phoenix fears there could be something in that envelope which for the first time is out of his control. - Hope gushes this is the sign. Tis a newspaper clipping from Alice that she put in Tom's poetry book. Bo reads it aloud. "If not you, who, if not now when?" Quite a sign! Hope is now excited to open the envelope. She thinks it will be a good thing. Bo reminds her this is not Mrs. H's secret, but it is what Stefano had on her. Hope remains optimistic and opens the envelope. She stares at the paper in her hands and suddenly gasps "Oh my God no!" then drops it. - Carrie assures Austin that she would never do anything with Rafe to threaten their marriage. Austin demands to know if she has feelings for him. Carrie's eyes widen. - At the loft, Rafe insists he and Sami can get past this. She quips it is too late. He angrily notes she wants to write him off after one mistake. She argues she too has feelings. He is sorry she is hurting but they have dealt with worse. Sami thunders she cannot deal with this and throws their picture against the wall with such force that it breaks. "I want you out! I want you out right now! RAFE, JUST GET OUT!" END |
