From across the miles in Salem, Marlena freezes. Jen rushes up to HR Anne at the hospital and asks about Parker. Anne snaps Chloe could not reach Dr. Jonas when Jen was with him. Jen realizes she was with Chloe. She is suspicious of their association but Anne claims they are friends. She is very hard on Jen for making Dan unreachable and points out Chloe is the mother of his child, whereas Jen is nothing! Jen is not unaffected by her words. Dan insists that Jen knew from the start they would be in Chicago, not Salem, for that was the plan. Chloe knows what she heard, though. Dr. Kayla appears with an update. The virus is no longer causing Parker to have a high fever. Dan and Chloe race in to see their boy, who gazes at his parents from his hospital bed. Papa Dan promises he will be fine. Chloe smiles a mother’s smile. Kayla watches. Dan gently tells the lad they all want him to get better fast. Chloe murmurs mommy and daddy are here. Kayla thinks he needs his rest and so they exit his room. Chloe dramatically throws her arms around Dan and thanks God he is alright. Kristen is sitting on her Salem bed, crying like Susan the loon that she is sorry. Brady believes it is time to go to bed. She insists she loves him and they kiss. She has another thing to say. It is not easy …When she first mentioned marriage and he laughed at her, it tore through her like a knife in her heart. Brady is aghast. He had no idea. She explains she opened her heart to him. He loves that too but has reasons they cannot get married. The timing for him is impossible. She wants him to elaborate. He would rather not say, though he promises they will discuss after she gets some much needed sleep. She lies down on the pillow and he continues to fawn over her. Dan gets back to his earlier discussion with Chloe. She must have misunderstood Jennifer. Chloe exclaims she purposely lied about their whereabouts so she would not be able to find them. She even saw her crumpling a paper, which must have been the contact details he wrote for her. Dan gets concerned. Jen is glad to hear from Kayla that Parker is okay. Anne gives her a dirty look and walks after Kay. Jen flashes back to the bogus note about child services and now suspects Anne’s involvement. Marlena wonders what Stefano wants. He claims he only wanted her to know, and they will have even more talks, given how close their families are becoming, with Brady and Kristen and now Elvis and Samantha. The heart wants what the heart wants, no? He chuckles she should be relieved her other son is a priest. Marlena angrily ends the call. Eric wonders where this is coming from. Nicole cries she does not have it in her to be the person he wants her to be. He calls it God’s will but she laments it will never happen. He suggests she go to bed and sleep on it. She gets sarcastic about counting rosary beads, then decides to go out. Father Eric growls if she does, she should not come back! Sami is looking for a pen, then realizes EJ would have one and searches in his coat pocket, only to find a ring box. She gasps. Fully dressed Brady has fallen asleep next to Kristen. She silently slips out into the hallway with her phone and places a long distance call to Stefano, who is enjoying a brandy. She complains she failed as Brady will not budge on proposing. He grumbles he is not good enough to shine her shoes. She insists she will find out what is holding him back and will then triumph. Papa phoenix warns her to proceed with caution, for even a DiMera can make the wrong step … She purrs not to worry and he bids his daughter goodnight in Italian. Kristen returns to the bed and tells herself she will get what she wants, she will get what she needs. Sami opens the ring box and gasps at then engagement ring inside. “Oh my God!” Nicole is stunned Eric would actually kick her out. He repeats he would rather she stay and rest. Then they can have a long talk and work this out tomorrow. But … if she goes out now, their conversation is over - for good. What does she want? Nicole rages she will tell him exactly what she wants! Chloe is extremely agitated that she could not locate Dan when his son needed him and Jen is to blame. Dan disagrees. Chloe exclaims he can ask her now. Dan turns to Jen, who has just appeared. He does not believe she would have lied about where they were but must ask her the question. Did she lie about where they were? Is Chloe speaking the truth? Jen’s blue eyes widen with dread ... Ahead on Days of Our Lives Dan and Jen have a big fight. Stefano calls Kate and taunts her, driving her to drink! |
