At the club, Kate is not fussed by Nicole's tirade. Business is not personal after all. Nicole is peeved about being played for she would NEVER have signed on with Kate as a partner ... Justin and Adrienne are also at the club for their first official date as they try to make their way back to each other. Easier said than done ... After a while Eve makes Rafe realize she is making sense. When she wed Eduardo he was using the name Larson. And he left Paige when she was ten cute years old. Rafe is saddened for Paige and even angrier with Eduardo ... Meanwhile Eduardo is standing at the square, watching Gabi with pretty Arianna. He dares not approach, though ... Ben runs into Marlena at the park and pleasantly greets her. He is over the moon she made Clyde a kinder gentler man and even happier to be marrying his dream girl. Marlena is headed for the hospital. Ben follows the blonde, as he intends to see Abigail ... Chad is frantic when he enters Stefano's EMPTY hospital room. Abigail appears and assures him father phoenix, who has a history of not dying, is having tests. Chad is relieved. Abigail quietly closes the door and asks for an update on his hypnosis with Marlena. He sighs so far it has been a slow process. He suspects he was drugged and saw Clyde that fateful night. That is all he has for now. Abi attempts to make him feel better and gets choked up about wanting the world to know he did not do it. Chad reaches out and tenderly touches her cheek. Their faces get closer but the nurse opens the door. Ben happens by and stares darkly at the scene. Abigail jumps up ... Adrienne and Justin admire Sonny's Euro-selfies and she sighs she misses him. She then asks Justin how he is, trying to make their talk more date-worthy. The new D.A. does not hide the fact that he loves his new job nor the fact that he looks forward to destroying Chad DIMERA. Adrienne fears another DiMera/Kiriakis feud. Justin feels justified in trying to make a name for himself. Adrienne notes he is now as ruthless as Victor ... Kate makes light of duping Nicole, who rages on about all Kate's misdeeds that would make her the partner from hell. Diva Kate takes it all in stride ... Eve confides to Rafe that it was hard on Paige when papa left. Rafe notes Gabi was young when he left as well. She might not even remember him. Eve is sympathetic about the stress Rafe must have had to deal with, the deep bitterness. Rafe rages he wants the SOB gone. Eve updates him on Ed's plan to depart after Paige's service. Rage growls that is not soon enough for him ... Gabi spies Eduardo and asks the stranger to please pick up the pink bunny her daughter dropped. He does and returns it, telling Gabi what a beautiful little girl she has got. He does not introduce himself, however ... Ben's temper gets the best of him and he rages at Abigail for betraying him again. She begs him to believe she loves him. Ben lectures her for lying and ignores her pleas. Chad thinks he should not punish her for having a heart and consoling a friend. But Ben accuses her of wanting Chad and takes off. Abigail assumes he is going to calm down ... Rafe asks Eve about the half-sister he lost, the one he never knew as such. Eve softly states she was everything good, smart, funny, gentle. Rafe suggests that once the investigation is over, they should get together and talk about Paige. Eve would like that. He promises to catch the killer and they share an emotional embrace - the family kind ... Chad arrives at Marlena's office. She is in the middle of speaking about a complex case into her recorder and stops. Chad is rattled and repeats he needs to remember. Marlena the emotional healer has him sit down and relax ...and so it begins again ... Kate offers Nicole her hand and notes no they will never be friends BUT this is business and they could make tons of money together. Nicole turns down the hand and offer ... Rafe goes for a walk to clear his head and catches Eduardo admiring Ari with Gabi. He points out it is getting chilly and suggests his sister take Arianna home. Gabi gushes and gets going, still not knowing who the helpful stranger was. Once they are alone, Rafe sarcastically questions which family he came to Salem for cos it could be a multiple choice kind of question. Eduardo tries to tell him he is sincere. Rafe scoffs ... HYPNO-CHAD is at it again with Marlena. He cannot remember what happened after he saw Paige in the square the day she died. She takes him back to the last time he remembered seeing Serena, what else he saw. Chad's drugged memories make him feel like he is in a fog but suddenly some groggy memories flash before his hypno-eyes. There was a figure he was fighting with. In his trance the figure is an unknown man. But when Marlena brings him out of his trance, he cannot say whether the person he fought with was male or female ... Ed tells Rafe that Ari is his grandbaby and she is beautiful. He assures his son he is leaving Salem soon. Rafe angrily orders him to stay away from his family, feeling more protective than ever ... Abigail is all alone sobbing on a park bench, no Ben in sight. When the baby kicks, she touches her tummy, stands up, and pulls herself together ... Chad is angry and anxious he could not see the face of the person he fought with. Marlena thinks that will come soon very soon. Chad leaves ... Nicole will not stop refusing to let Kate be part of her Basic Black deal. She storms out and Kate smiles like a cat ready to pounce ... Nicole marches out of the club and tries to place a call to Theresa, unable to reach her ... Ed heads into the club for a beer and catches Kate's eye. He raises his glass in salute and she sips her martini with a sly smile ... Justin and Adrienne are at the park when duty calls. The D.A, has been summoned to the station but suggests dessert after. Adrienne would rather take it slow and gives him a little kiss before walking home alone... Marlena steps out of her dimly lit office. A man with black gloves and a black ski mask steps in ... Chad stands on the docks by the river, trying to relax. Like a bolt from the blue he has a flashback of struggling over something with another man at the same spot. He looks around in horror and walks away ... Rafe is alone in his office. He calls Marlena for an update on the killer profile. She has not been able to do it yet. Rafe is agitated. Marlena is back in her office. Her back is to the door so she fails to notice when the killer creeps up behind her ...A nostalgic song plays as Justin thinks of Adrienne and Adrienne, now back at the house, thinks of Justin. Sometimes yesterday cannot be recaptured ... Eve is alone down at the docks. There is a chill in the air. She glances around ... Rafe is staring at the suspects board and focuses on Paige, the fact that she was strangled by a red necktie. Then something dawns on him and he races out ... Abigail enters the empty apartment and wonders where Ben could be ... The killer silently places the telltale red necktie around Marlena's slender throat. She gasps and struggles for her life but the killer is stronger ...Meanwhile Chad gets in the hospital elevator, en route to see Marlena again to tell her what he just remembered ... THE END!
