Rafe snaps what the hell is Eduardo doing in Salem! Eduardo calls him son and he hisses not to call him that, since he left them decades ago! Eduardo promises to leave him alone if they can talk for 10 minutes. He wants to know about Gabi. They head for the pub ... At the mansion Brady walks with Tate in his arms and tenderly talks to his son. Theresa returns from helping Eve and gets emotional as she could not bear anything happening to Tate. Brady hands her her son for a much needed hug. Tate rests his trusting little head against her as she holds him ... Kate enters the pub as she ends a call with Victor. She mutters about people calling her a bitch. Nearby Eve is drowning her sorrows. She drawls at time one does need to be a bitch and she should know. Kate approaches her table, so sorry about Paige. She has been there but it is a long story. Eve has the luxury of time and suggests she take a seat. Kate does just that, orders a martini, and starts to tell her story ... Kayla leaves Joey another message, wondering where oh where he could be ... Steve grabs his son by the collar and drags him out of his hiding place on the airborn plane. Steve is mad. Joey is madder and boasts he followed him. He fears his father is abandoning their family all over again. Steve insists his secret agent days are done but this is different, this is about saving Bo. Joey thinks he can help. Steve gives him a surprised stare ... Meanwhile martini Kate tells Eve the tale of Curtis making her believe her kids were dead. Eve notes their ending was different. Kate apologizes, realizing there is really no way to compare their cases as Eve has lost her only child. Eve laments she was a lousy mom. Kate points out her past did not provide her with any good role models. Eve gets testy until Kate tells her she used to live the life too. It was to survive. Eve admits she wanted the attention from men and let them use her. Kate refers to her most recent relationship as a sociopath (Clyde). They raise their glasses in mutual understanding and drink to the fact that men "suck," as Eve so eloquently puts it ... Back at the mansion, Theresa feels terrible she was not nicer to Paige and admits she may have been jealous of her brunette ambition. Brady points out she too is ambitious and says it with a hint of pride in his voice. Nicole waltzes in wearing a stylish outfit and a smile. Time to talk Basic Black and put together the proposal for John. Theresa takes Tate for his nap. Nicole gushes Brady is such a great father as she knew he would be. Alas parenthood was not in the cards for her. However, corporate goals are something she can control, like the acquisition of Basic Black ... Steve refuses to let Joey join him on his mission. The son suggests he is spy material too since he tailed him without being spotted. Steve sighs his mom must be worried. Joey acts like a little boy, lamenting he always chose the spy game over them. Steve states he had his reasons for going away. Joey demands en explanation ... Brady admits he was somewhat surprised to see how badly Basic Black was doing. Nicole notes there is great potential. Nicole cannot help but wonder about the identity of Theresa's silent partner. So long as they are not evil ... At the club Kate tries to give Eve a pep talk about seeing the support she has in others' reactions to losing Paige. She was loved and admired. Eve admits she fears someone she had made an enemy of might have come after her daughter. Kate believes the real blame lies with the killer. Eve wants the guilty party to suffer. So does Kate ... Eduardo and Rafe walk into the pub, past the table of Kate and Eve without noticing them. Rafe wants to know what he wants. To know how they are. He orders a beer but not Rafe. He rages to stay away from them all. Ed argues he tried to reach out when his sister died but he blew him off ... Kayla is rummaging through an office drawer when she comes across the framed photo of her romantic wedding with Steve ... Steve emotionally explains to Joey just why he felt he should stay away. He feared he might become an evil parent like his father, who was so wicked he mom had to hide him in an orphanage. But make no mistake his family is his EVERYTHING. Joe says prove it then ... Nicole and Brady go over the business details of the proposal to buy Basic Black. Theresa sides with Brady of course but suggests the simplicity of Basic Black's first product could be done again, in a more trendy way. That is, the little black dress ... Ed is sorry to hear Rafe had to try and support the family on his own when he was in his teens. Rafe realizes he knows not where son Dario is and adds he is in Argentina doing well. Eduardo is interested in seeing Gabi and Arianna, Rafe growls to get out of town and storms out ... Eve and Kate could not help but notice the commotion from their table. Eve approaches and taunts her ex for making a cop mad. Eduardo is amazed that his SON is a cop. Eve stares in horror ... Steve tells Joey the story of how he met his mother. He was out of the merchant marine with a B.A. to his name = bad attitude. He got messed up with some questionable characters and got hired to spook sweet Kayla. He roguishly grins it was the best gig he ever got. Kayla wanted to reform him and his efforts to pull back from the bad guys got him knifed one night down at the foggy Salem docks. The flashback of Kayla finding Steve is shown ... Meanwhile back in real Salem of now, Kayla is having her own flashback - of hot kisses with Steve once upon a time ... Eve is disgusted that Ed never mentioned having a family before they hooked up and that he had abandoned them as well. She tells him to go to hell and goes after Rafe ... Patch proceeds to play his harmonica. He calls it the Patch Daddy Blues. Cool stuff ... Theresa gets a text from Kate, who wants to hear all about the meeting. She steps away to text her back. Brady hears Tate crying and goes to him. Nicole is about to leave but stops at the door and listens ... Theresa gets on her phone and states the meeting is over ... Steve and Kayla flashbacks appear on screen and in their minds - the romantic marriage of the soul mates, the births ... Rafe enters his dark office at the station and gets back to work to find the killer. Eve enters. He regrets he has nothing new. She gasps she has something to tell him and it might motivate him more. Rafe replies he could not be more motivated than he is now. Eve gasps it is personal about Paige because she was his sister. Rafe's soulful eyes soap stare ... Nicole eavesdrops as Theresa arranges to meet her so-called silent partner. She then asks for a glass of water. When Theresa heads to the kitchen, Nicole sneaks a peek at her phone. There she finds the name of that partner. KATE! Nicole storms out to do battle ... Theresa later shows Brady her dress sketch and he is admittedly impressed by her talent. Theresa has stars in her eyes ... Ed has left the club. Kate is about to go until Nicole storms in screaming bloody murder about her deal deception ... Steve remembers and smiles Joey was their second chance. He calls Kayla, who is standing at the square, and updates her on her stowaway son, the fact that he followed him onto the plane. It is foggy outside but clear inside. Steve proudly promises two things on this day: 1. to turn the plane around to take Joey home and 2. To bring Bo home. Then he goes nowhere cos this will be his FINAL MISSION ... THE END Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Look out Marlena! |
