John the former pawn is in his study remembering the old days .. dark dark days ... a young man with no memory being taunted by Stefano that he was his pawn, a man without a past ... He had been beaten and imprisoned but ended up finding a way ... a way out to a gravestone of John Black, who died in 1985 ... Now a flashback of a better time, until he tried to leap to his death from their condo as Marlena cried no ...John silently remembers, for this is where his earliest memories begin ... Marlena is all smiles when she sees Paul at the club. He smiles he just got back from a promo tour for the line. They sit and he confides how the insults of the drunk guys at the nightclub that night he was with Will, Sonny and Derek got to him. Being in the spotlight is not easy. And the promo tour was the worst and he did not feel he did well. Marlena praises him for how he has helped others. Paul wishes he had someone to speak to. She immediately suggests John, who feels like he has known him forever ... Towel-clad Ben is attentive with Abigail, who is having breakfast, feeling a tad queasy. He sits with her at the table to take a look at his email and the house Clyde bought them, only to come across an article about Stefano's heart attack instead ... At DiMera mansion Chad is in a hurry. He now has the passport and snaps shut his briefcase ... Aiden leers at sleeping Stefano to stay alive long enough to give him his money cos he and Hope are now engaged. Stefano's eyes fly open and he fires Aiden, no longer interested in this game ... Hope enters Kayla's office, having overheard Steve's wish to track down Bo. She hands him Bo's last letter as proof he left her. Tis true the handwriting belongs to Bo. Steve gets choked up as he reads and must accept it. So he says ... Ciara spots Aiden emerging from Stefano's room and advises him against going near the villain. Aiden explains he is representing his son is all. Chase had heard about the two women who were murdered. Ciara exclaims Theo's Uncle Chad is innocent ... Abigail is most anxious to read the article and explains Stefano would be more prone to heart attacks being diabetic. Ben scoffs Chad must have said so. She sternly reminds him she works at the hospital. Ben calms down somewhat and goes to his class, repeating she did promise to stay away from Chad. Once alone, Abigail texts Chad, asking if he is alright. No answer. She gets a bad feeling, the kind of feeling that makes a girl take action... Steve insists Hope was still the love of Bo's life. Kayla quips that is how he refers to her and look how they worked out. Steve is sorry and sadly departs. Kayla wipes away her tears ... John gets a call from an agency contact. There could be a lead ... John organizes the old newspaper clippings connected to his case on his desk. He eyes an article about an Alamain boy who drowned ... Kayla and Hope pull themselves together and come out to greet the kids, who are there for their pre-soccer checkups. Kayla hears Ciara's comments about Aiden visiting Stefano and sternly states not to bother her patient again. Then she takes the kids for their checkups. Hope teases him and they get lovey dovey ... Chad opens his DiMera study door, ready to make his great escape from Salem but Abigail stops him with a resounding NO! Joey is sulking at the square. Steve appears for a friendly chat and seems sympathetic about his stress over the first day of Salem High. Steve notes it is not easy for him being back either. Joey is surprised he is actually staying this time ... Hope teases Aiden for trying to get Stefano to talk about the case. He lies he was asleep the whole time. Hope deduces this was the first time Aiden met the DiMera, though nothing could be further from the truth ... Abigail and Chad argue about him going on the run. Abigail wants to stop him from ruining his life. He yells he cannot remember so no one can help him! The cops are building a case and he is out of options. Not necessarily. Abigail has an idea ... Paul admits he had considered calling John. Marlena points out they have much in common for John never knew his real parents ... John makes the call to the lead. He explains he was looking for the cop connected to the Alamain boy drowning case ... Dr. Kayla brings out the kids. Time for a treat. But mini diva Ciara wants to know the secret ... Joey opens up to Steve about saying rude things to Hope. He wrongly assumed she had dumped Bo for her new guy. Steve enlightens him on Bo's ISA mission. He sighs sometimes that ISA draws a dude in. It happened to him too but that was then this is now. He assures his son if he apologizes Hope will forgive him. Joey wonders whether Steve feels Kayla will ever forgive HIM ...Kayla needs her charger and rummages through her desk, only to pull out her framed wedding photo with Steve. The picture is sitting on her desk when son Joey comes by asking for money for his chemistry lab supplies. He laughs at Steve's hairstyle and the Temptations songs his parents always played at home. Kayla insists Steve was not a man of the mullet ...Joey admits he was a jerk with Hope before ... Aiden and Hope are at the town square with Ciara, Chase, and cool creamy desserts. Time for the surprise. To make Ciara happy, he once more slips the ring on Hope's finger and asks her to marry him. She says yes and they kiss. Ciara is elated it ended in a kiss. Chase feels foiled again ... Paul grins and graciously thanks Marlena for her good advice. John appears and greets his son. Paul promises to call soon and exits to make his Mad World meeting. John gives his woman in red a kiss over the table and tells her he feels he could finally be on the right path to finding his parents ... Chad concedes it would be best to get his memory back but refuses to let Abigail get dragged into his dangerous drama. She explains hypnotherapy might work and Marlena would be very discreet. She cries and begs him to save himself. Chad starts to melt ... Ominous music is heard in Stefano's room. There stands the mighty Victor Kiriakis ... Ciara is an excited wedding planner upon learning her mother and Aiden marry on the 9th of November. She drags her off to see a dress. Chase tells his father how excited he is about having Ciara as a stepsister. Everything seems to be going smoothly - until Aiden gets an angry text from the man he owes big money - money he no longer will be receiving from Stefano. His time has run out! Aiden goes strangely silent ...In her office, Kayla gets candid with Joey. She is starting to believe that this time Steve's return could actually mean something significant - that the daredevil loves them and came back for good ...Steve wants a word with John at the club. Marlena steps away. Steve solemnly suggests Bo's letter was strange since he would not have abandoned his family.John admits Bo never handed him the letter but left it for him at the hotel. Steve has a bad feeling. John lowers his voice, adding according to the ISA Bo was NOT repeat NOT working for them when he went undercover. Both men smell a coverup for a mission gone horribly wrong ... Ben gets home, but Abigail is nowhere to be found. He takes out his phone and stands at the window, telling himself to trust her trust her, though his eyes are darkening more by the Salem second ... THE END! Ahead on Days: Victor vs Stefano! Chad takes Abi's advice. GABI! Bo knows Hope is in danger! |
