Pretty Abigail is at the club for coffee. An article about Chad being in jail appears on her tablet and she almost jumps out of her skin ... Meanwhile Chad is with Roman, as he has been released thanks to the hard work of attorney Aiden ... D.A. Justin gets off the phone with the judge after noting next time they will get the goods on the DiMera. He grumbles next time he will not get a pro-DiMera judge. Rafe suspects he is about to get a pro-Kiriakis judge and suggests he simply let him build a solid case. Justin remains convinced that Chad is the culprit. He warns Justin there could be more victims ... Ben appears bothered when Clyde arrives at his apartment. Ben forgot they had a breakfast and laments Paige was strangled to death. Clyde flashes back to warning JJ he would come after her if he double-crossed him and declares it is not his boy's problem. Sad things happen! He advises him to focus on his future with Abigail and speaking of that future ... At Horton house JJ admires an old photo of Paige in happier times and mourns her, blaming himself. Jen is sorry, clad in dark clothes. Jump Street JJ intends to enlighten her on the danger she could be in. He cranks up the rock music which goes into a country twang as he tells his mother the tale of crazy Clyde. He tells her everything and then refuses to talk to the DEA, dreading Clyde's threat to come after her next. Jen offers to do some digging. JJ shows her the bullet that was left on their doorstep and believes she should back off from the matter. Then he leaves but hooded JJ in the sunglasses seems to be followed by a man with a gray ponytail ... Abigail calls the station, seeking an answer to whether or not Chad can have visitors. She finds out he has been released and assumes he is at the mansion so to the DiMera mansion our heroine goes ... At the station Rafe suggests Chad go home to the mansion. Justin overhears his father kicked him out and claims that is cos he knows he is a punk who offed a girl who said no. Rafe believes the patriarch steps up for his offspring and strongly suggests Chad head home to him before there is another incident and he has no alibi. Roman appears to agree and ushers him out to the squad car for his protection, as there have been threats ... British butler Harold announces the fair Abigail at DiMera mansion. Suited Stefano is seated, his red tie reflecting his aggressive state of mind. Abi asks after Chad. Stefano declares he kicked him out for disgracing the family with his crimes. Abigail stands up for Chad and defends him dramatically. The phoenix laughs there is evidence and he knows evil. Abigail argues Chad is not like the other DiMeras, he did not even grow up near them. Chad arrives home in his dark clothes and stares coldly at his foreboding father... Clyde bears an early wedding gift for big Ben - the keys to a swanky house he got him and his future bride in Salem. He wants his grand kids to hold their heads high among the haughty Hortons. Ben is grateful and hugs him. Clyde grins his boy won against Chad, who is in more hot water than he can handle, let alone losing Abigail. Ben wonders if he thinks he did it. Clyde flashes back to threatening to kill Paige to JJ ... Stefano sulks and asks Chad what he is doing here. Chad quips the cops told him to come. Abigail again sides with Chad about the evidence being questionable and urges Stefano to tell the police Chad had not been near the mansion when the murder was committed so the flower petal from the garden is not proof. No luck! Chad wants to know whether he set him up. Stefano scoffs. He quips he certainly sounds guilty and chuckles as though enjoying the torment ... Crazy Clyde leers those rich DiMera kids act like they are above the law. And that Chad is a hot head ... Chad announces he will not stay after all. Stefano taunts Abi to take him with her. Abigail sticks up for Chad again. Stefano laughs he does not even deserve her. They step into the foyer and Abigail lets Chad know she is here if he needs anything. He is grateful but admits he might have done it. He tells her of his two blackouts but Abigail stands firm. She believes in him ... At the station Rafe explains to Justin that the neckties of both victims were not upscale. They were polyester. Justin warns him to make this case a priority cos he already missed the first 48 hours and a killer walks among them ... Jumpy Jen gets off the phone about her house alarm order and opens her front door to an unexpected visitor - CLYDE! She blinks and tries to conceal her terror ... Abigail insists Chad is innocent and there is an explanation. She knows he is no killer ... Clyde comes in to talk about the wedding and a wedding gift. For starters he suggests he help. Jen gasps that is not necessary and adds they have many male family members to walk Abi down the aisle when the hillbilly from hell offers to do that. He boasts he got the kids an early wedding gift - an expensive house at 27 Riverview Road, where they can raise their kids. Ponytail Jen cringes and forces a smile. Clyde cackles it was kinda crazy but he is known to be CRAAAZY. Jen is now close to collapse ... Ben sends Abigail a text that he has big news, then gets bothered by her lack of immediate reply. So he takes out his phone and tracks her to the DiMera mansion. He now sulks in the dark alone waiting waiting waiting ...Chad tenderly touches Abi's face. They come close to a kiss but he steps back and thanks her. She gasps he has to fight, her cheeks flushed. He sighs he fears he has been set up. Abigail advises him to trust in Rafe and Hope for they are fair. She asks to help him fight the fight. Chad woefully tells her to go back to Ben and stay away. He has to handle this without her. She breathes she is never going to give up on him. Their eyes lock in longing and then she goes ... Jenny finally sees crazy Clyde to the door and promises to keep him in the wedding loop. He grins to enjoy the fact that JJ is healthy and heads off .... Jump Street JJ runs up to a cop at the station, desperately seeking Roman. It is an EMERGENCY ... Abigail gets home to big Ben, who is sitting darkly on the bed. He accuses her of still loving Chad and tells her how he has tracked her to the DiMera mansion more than once ... Rafe confers with Roman and stares at the list of witnesses and clues that could lead to the correct suspect. He feels the DiMera flower was a plant. Roman advises him to get the evidence and exits. Rafe gets to thinking ... Chad returns to Stefano, who is occupied at his chess set. Chad flies at him for framing him. Father phoenix dramatically denies the charge. Chad rages he would have let Sami linger in prison for a murder she did not commit. Stefano gets choked up and has one final thing to say before his face falls onto the chess set in distress ... Stefano's admission! THE END! Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Stefano is rushed to hospital! Ben and Abigail are at odds! Kayla is opposed to Steve's mission! |
