Ben sees Abigail home to their apartment and suggests her early contractions caused by stress may have been due to Chad DiMera. Abigail admits she is upset about the fact that he has been wrongly accused. Ben disagrees on that front but plays the doting fiancée to frightening perfection. Abi wants a warm shower and invites him to join her. He states he will be there soon … At DiMera mansion Andre is elated to announce to brotha Chad that Clyde was arrested on drug related charges. Chad is a tad disappointed it was not for murder. Andre smoothly states with Clyde out of commission for a bit they will be able to have his home searched. Chad expects them to find something … Down at the station, Roman advises cocky Clyde to call his lawyer cos he heard all of the conversation from JJ’s phone. He has him on uttering death threats and admitting to running the Salem drug trade. Clyde smiles slyly. If JJ was workin for the cops then that was entrapment. Besides the boy has a questionable history himself … Roman walks out of his office only to run into attorney Aiden, who came not to help Clyde but to help the cops nail him. He swears Roman to secrecy and laments he threatened his son. He also knows there is a murder case involving a potential witness in Florida. He stumbled upon some proof he now wishes to share … Ben opens the drawer where he hid the red necktie he used on Marlena and starts to sweat. That one got away. He shoves the necktie into the trash and is about to join his girl in the shower when he gets a call that rattles him … Roman returns to Clyde and his slippery smile and suggests he has more than he knows. He leaves him with his water to think about it … Clyde’s one phone call is to Ben. He tells his son there are trumped-up charges against him so he needs his new lady lawyer. He gives him the phone number. Abigail emerges, wondering where he was. Ben updates her on the bogus charges against his dad and departs feeling both apologetic and angered … Chad assumes Andre and Stefano arranged Clyde’s arrest. Andre explains Clyde assumed he was invincible and that was his biggest mistake. Chad suspiciously questions his reason for helping him. Andre coos cos he is family and advises him to wait for his contact to call with an update. The drinks now flow like water at DiMera mansion … Abi gets ready to go but Will arrives at the apartment. The best man has an envelope for Ben ....with lists, samples and proofs from gay friendly vendors for their wedding. He admits Sonny’s system is not so simple with a smile. Abigail assures him she is hoping things will work out with Sonny. Will is as well and now asks what has her so jumpy … At the station Roman updates Jump Street JJ on Clyde. There is a chance they could send him to Florida to face murder charges, thus keeping him far from Salem. Despite his disapproval that he went rogue, he commends JJ on a job well done. Big Ben bursts into the station demanding to know where his father is and what the hell is going on. JJ plays it cool. Ben is ready to blow … Abigail explains to Will she just got over mild contractions. She was dehydrated. Sympathetic Will knows they can also be caused by stress. Gabi had the same when pregnant with Arianna. He senses her stress stems from the fact that Chad is on the run. Will deduces Ben is also jealous. She eventually confesses she helped Chad hide from the police. Will is horrified. How could she after Marlena identified him as her attacker! Abigail insists it was a misunderstanding. Marlena was found by Chad after the real killer had fled. Chad was the one who saved her! Will thinks it did not look that way. He warns her she broke the law by assisting him. And if Chad is not the culprit, he would be better off in police custody. He would be safer. Abigail admits Chad believes Clyde is the killer and is setting him up. Will gets even more worried about her welfare when she updates him on Ben being upset about Clyde getting arrested. Will urges her to stay out of it. She has a meltdown. Will hugs her and realizes she would be less stressed at Ben’s side showing him support. He offers to stay and wait for the cable guy who is expected. Once alone, he texts Ben a message. He hopes things are OK and lets him know he is waiting at his home … Ben is confrontational. JJ believes Ben was not aware of his father’s dealings. Belligerent Ben loses his cool and Roman must stand between the two bucks who are about to butt heads … Chad is at DiMera mansion reading an article online about the Clyde arrest when Abigail comes up behind him. He knows it is her before turning around and teases her for coming again. She claims she was not expecting to find him and was going to pass him a message via Stefano. She worriedly wonders if it is wise being so out in the open. He states the police already searched the house and indicates the secret door to the DiMera passageways. Abigail asks if he was responsible for Clyde’s arrest … As Roman advises bickering JJ and Ben to behave, Clyde’s lady lawyer arrives at the station. Once alone with her client the tough cookie in the red suit asks him if it is true. He tells her to find a loophole and keep him away from Florida … Chad updates Abigail on the word of the DiMera cop contacts. Clyde’s arrest is connected to the drug trade. He suspects JJ knows something since someone started a rumor about him dealing again. The two cases must be connected. Abigail holds her head high and says she will ask him. Chad flirts about Ben knowing she has feelings for him. He implies her feelings made her change her mind about leaving Salem. He dares her to face up to her feelings and gets closer, a glint in his eye … Abigail gets flustered and calls Chad egotistical. She announces Ben awaits and starts to leave. Chad suavely suggests she take the hidden passageway route. That way she will know the way the next time she is back … Will opens the envelope and comes across his wedding photograph with Sonny. Happy times. He now leaves Sonny a heartfelt message in Paris, that he now accepts and owns all the mistakes he made. He gushes he loves him so much. Goodnight. Will puts down the phone and then plays paper basketball to kill time. He misses many times at his target – the basket of trash near the bed – the one where Ben stuffed his last red necktie … Roman escorts handcuffed Clyde away. Clyde promises Ben he will be back for his wedding. He catches sight of Aiden, who wishes him luck, and lets him know one day he is gonna need luck … Abigail arrives at the station, where Ben and JJ argued over the integrity of their fathers. Ben insists his father is an innocent man and mutters Abigail should ask her brother what happened. He takes off …Back at the mansion, Andre has an update for Chad via the cop contact. They came across nothing criminal against Clyde while searching his home. He adds they have had Clyde on their radar since he came to Salem and he is not one to lose his cool, hence his evading capture for so long. He impatiently implies others are too hotheaded and sloppy to get away with anything for long … Will is placing the paper balls in the trash when he notices the necktie. He pulls it out and holds it up, his eyes filled with horror at the implications. Ben enters with a stony face and gives him the stare of DEATH. THE END! Ahead on Days of Our Lives: TOO LATE! |
