John checks the security cameras with his partner on the computer. The clock is ticking ... Orpheus laughs to his two hostages he beat death! Marlena cannot believe that this is real. He leers he is real and her worst nightmare. Marlena and Kayla are tied up and tired at the warehouse where they have been taken ... Lancelot Lucas is with his lady Adrienne promising to defend her honor as they stroll toward the square. Justin happens by without a costume and frowns. Not far away Senorita Gabi is on her phone leaving JJ a message, hoping to hear from him soon. The girl with the flowers in her hair and her pretty fair haired daughter are now joined by none other than Zorro Chad, clad in black with a mask and an aura of mystery to match. Gabi is impressed. He even has a sword. They are ready to attend the fundraiser in honor of Abigail on this night ... In the middle of the square Andre continues to play Hope's recorded confession. I KILLED STEFANO her voice chants again and again. Ciara thinks it makes no sense. Andre meets Hope's horrified gaze and holds up his recorder in triumph. The guests stare in silence. Chad and Gabi arrive and Chad assumes it is a prank. Rafe steps forward and smashes the recorder to the ground. Andre taunts the hero who is too late to save the girl. Rafe is enraged. Roman tries to play it cool. Hope is frozen in horror, her eyes haunted ... Andre accuses Rafe of destroying evidence in more ways than one. Rafe is ready to attack. Roman holds him back. Andre indignantly demands justice. He finds it unfair how fatha was vilified only to be killed by an officer of the law. What hypocrisy! Julie and Ciara step forward seeking answers. Hope begs them to leave and sends them home ... Justin accuses Andre of doctoring that recording. Even Adrienne and Lucas doubt him. Gabi stops Chad from getting into the argument so he storms off. The Deputy Mayor discreetly ends the ceremony and takes the conversation to the station. Justin, as Hope's attorney, urges her not to say a word. Andre talks the truth and elegantly goes after him to station. Rafe stands by Hope. Roman soap stares ... Steve and John finally find a familiar man in the hospital footage from before their women were snatched. Steve remembers the same man was at the station when they were ready to make their statements. Fake cop alert! Meanwhile Orpheus and flunky Laszlo, jack of all terrifying trades, have their hostages tied to chairs far away from the hospital ... Orpheus ominously informs Marlena says this is the end for her and no heroes are here! She tries to get him to talk about how he did it and he smugly obliges. He tells the tale of his backup plan with help from flunky Laszlo, who replaced a bottle in her medical bag with the drug with which he would stage his death. Then Laszlo came to the morgue to revive him! He leers the final act in this drama will be their deaths, which will make John and Patch feel the worst pain FOREVER ... At the station Justin is meeting with the acting D.A. Roman and Rafe confer with Hope. Rafe thinks Aiden did it but Hope replies no. She knew he regretted his actions and would not have given the recording to Andre. Roman wants to know where Andre did get his recording. He updates Rafe and Hope that Andre is acting like he can implicate them all! Hope asks to meet with Andre alone but Rafe refuses to allow it ... The Deputy Mayor accuses Andre of fabricating the confession. Still, why would he single out Hope and get her on tape like that? The Spectator is already on the story so they need to find out how Andre did this. Rafe and Roman step into his office. Hope sneaks into the interrogation room for a conversation with Andre. He smiles as he enjoys being the accusa and not the accused for once. Hope faces him now from the other symbolic side of the table ... Rafe complains to Roman he cannot reach Aiden. They assume Andre found a way to get the recording on his own. Meanwhile Andre is acting in charge. He taunts Hope as he tells her how he did it. It was too easy. He believed Aiden was blackmailing her so he searched his room and the rest as they say is history. He adds he has many copies of the recording but put back the original so Aiden would not suspect a thing. Did Hope not think HE would want revenge? They say in Salem she is a saint but he knows betta. She is a cold blooded killer ... Gabi goes after Zorro Chad, who is in a state. He gasps he did not believe Andre when he said Hope killed father for how could it be! Gabi is sympathetic. Arianna soap stares ... Steve and John are at the hospital searching for clues. Steve rages he cannot reach Roman. John spies a stamp on the box Orpheus used and concludes it is connected to a company at the docks. They take off together to follow that lead ... Orpheus now announces step two. He taunts he has to trick or treat and steps out ... Lucas, Adrienne, Doug and Julie solemnly return to Horton house with silent Ciara. Jen innocently asks how fared the fundraiser. Julie feels faint and needs a glass of water. Ciara soap stares. Jen asks her about the night ... Gabi gathers why Chad is upset and he asks her to take Thomas cos he is gonna get to the bottom of who killed his father! Meanwhile back at the station Rafe wants to strategize with Roman and claim HE did it to protect the woman he loves ... Hope sighs to Andre how she was tormented and tortured by Stefano time and time again. Then he went after her family ... Andre scoffs that is still not justification, and she knows she was wrong. He hisses for a change he has the POWA. What a pity she changed her clothes for she did well as her alter ego Queen of the Nile, who was also doomed by her arrogance. Cleopatra killed herself ... He talks atonement for Hope's soap sins and reminds her of her loyalty to certain boys in blue ... Marlena urges Kayla to keep trying to loosen those ropes ... Down at the dingy docks Steve and John pull their guns on a figure in a cape with his back to them. John orders him to slowly raise his hands over his head. Steve orders him to turn around. The Dracula decoy, a young man, does just that and offers them his candy. Foiled again! Orpheus is back with the ladies and laughs about the ropes they loosened. They are going to another place now! He leers to Laszlo to show them. And so Laszlo shows two wooden COFFINS ... Ciara cries to Jen her mom could not have done this and it has to be a DiMera trick! Jen is speechless. She remembers Hope confessing her soap sin. Ciara sees in her eyes that she knew so it is true. Her mom murdered Stefano ... Back at the station. D.A. Trask has been summoned. Hope is asked whether she wishes to press charges against Andre. Justin mutters to his client not to say a word. Rafe wants more time as Roman watches with worry. Hope, however stands ... In the background, there are two things at play here. First Rafe wants to take the heat for Hope. Hope, however, wants to protect Rafe and Roman and she feels fierce. She opens her mouth to speak. She confirms it was her voice for she did kill Stefano! Roman and Rafe are unable to stop her. Chad arrives in time to overhear and stops in his tracks ... John and Steve are checking all warehouses at the docks. It will take long but they will leave no stone unturned ... Orpheus closes the coffin covers as Kayla and Marlena cry out in protest. Laszlo cruelly hammers in the nails as Orpheus observes with demonic delight. Marlena's muffled voice warns not to do this for they will find him. Orpheus, however, is convinced their heroes will be too late. Kayla weeps and calls out Marlena's name. Marlena gasps Kayla's name as the last traces of light seep in. It feels like THE END. Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Paul reaches out to Sonny. Chad confronts Hope for what she did. Andre wants to heeeeeelp. The heroes race against time! |
