Gabi sits with Rafe at the square. He has a tie on for Paige's service and has been pouring over her file. He informs her this service is especially important. Gabi wonders why. Rafe stops short of sharing that Paige was her half-sister and gives her a pep talk about the job hunting she has been having a hard time with. He sends her on her applicant way, having decided she does not need more stress to add to her life ... At the Kiriakis mansion Theresa is a stylish mess in black. Brady tries to make her feel better and admires her Abigail wedding dress sketches. She cries for Paige and asks Brady to attend the service with her. He gallantly agrees, even helping her with her coat ... JJ strums a tune on his guitar that reminds him of the girl he lost. He puts it down and Jen gives him a reassuring hug. He still blames himself for her death and suspects Clyde. They are interrupted when dapper Dan arrives at the door, to be Jen's escort ... At the apartment, mourning mother Eve daydreams of Paige in her own black dress about to graduate from college. Eve blinks and the apparition disappears. She is alone again, surrounded by the sound of silence ... Chad is back at the mansion, bothered and belligerent. As Stefano sits silently, Chad casts Andre an accusing look and demands to know who tipped off the cops to his hiding place. Andre patiently points out HE did that, with the fish lure clue which fell from his outlandish outfit ... Justin is at the station, furious that the fugitive was not found at the lake house. Eduardo enters and Justin is just as furious with him when he wonders when he will catch his daughter's killer ... Eve now imagines Eduardo arriving with his daughter's favorite flowers for graduation. Eve blinks, alone with the flowers in the vase. Alas there is no more Paige to see ... JJ and Jen depart with Dan. Abigail is unable to attend, as she evidently woke up feeling under the weather ... Ed wants to see the suspects board but Justin keeps it covered and snaps to stay out of it. He has already given Eve enough grief ... Eve now imagines this is Paige's wedding day. The bride is in white and Eve lets her wear her pearl earrings. Back to reality. Eve numbly looks in the mirror and the earrings she will never be able to see her daughter wear on her wedding day. She finishes her wine and woefully looks at the stuffed lamb Paige loved, imagining she is pregnant with her first child. Sad times. Eduardo now arrives and solemnly states he is here to take her to bury their daughter together ... Chad gets sarcastic about his rotten luck. Andre reminds him of father phoenix's mantra - one makes one's own luck. He assures his belligerent brotha he is on his side and wonders what his next move will be ... Chad suggests the police will be in full force at the funeral so he will be able to make a move. Andre wants to hear all about it. Chad questions his loyalty ... Eve weeps she is dead inside and lashes out at Ed, shouting it should have been him instead ... Stefano observes the bickering brothers. Chad is confrontational while Andre the seasoned sneak keeps his cool ... Gabi gets going as Ed appears and he asks if Rafe told her the truth. Rafe refuses to turn her life upside down and vows to protect her from any further emotional pain. Ed refuses to give up ...Chad starts to hand Stefano his cash back since his alibi was a bust. Father phoenix advises him to keep it since he is going to need it. Andre smoothly suggests he also accept their assistance ... Outside the church a crowd has gathered. It is pretty in the garden, with an angel statue, flowers, tidy chairs in rows. But there is also a casket. The darkly dressed guests gather in her honor. They include Dan, JJ, Jen Daphne, Brady, Theresa. and Father Valerio from the campus. Theresa thanks them for being there. Most of them, that is. There are no kind words for JJ's group. Ed has also arrived and advises Rafe not to assume killer Chad would come here. He does not approve of the police presence in the area, considering it a waste of resources. Rafe glowers ... Elegant Eve is on Justin's arm and holds her head high. She places white roses on the casket and cries. Ed stares darkly as Justin puts an arm around her shoulders ... Chad accuses Andre of wanting to be the only DiMera heir. Andre quips unless brotha does something drastic he will not be any kind of heir... Rogue Jump Street JJ keeps his black sunglasses on for the service. The priest proceeds to remind the seated guests that there is life in death. Justin grumbles to Rafe that Chad should be behind bars already. The priest continues the spiritual side of things. Our father who art in heaven ... Eve approaches the casket with flowers. Still she holds her heartbroken head high. Theresa jumps and runs to her in tears. Eve calmly tells her to keep it together. Brady takes Theresa aside. Rafe tells the mourning mother he is sorry and vows to find who did this. Eve politely thanks him for coming and walks away. Justin is at her side. JJ walks off and Dan shares his worry with Jen that he needs to talk to someone, JJ does. Jen cries she cannot get through to him ...Brady gives crying Theresa a tissue. He notes she was cold to Jen and JJ. She makes it clear she was mad they came. Brady sighs he does not understand her. This service is to honor Paige ...Eve and Ed are last ones left outside. Eve wants him to leave her alone. She stands with the casket and flowers and cries. All of a sudden, something unexpected happens ... Paige's ghost appears under a ray of light like an angel and she smiles. Eve is elated to see her. Paige explains she wants her to let go of her anger for JJ and also herself. She forgives her and wants her to forgive herself. She opens her arms as though to embrace her but before Eve can reach her daughter, the white light takes her away. Eve stands alone, saddened ... Ed joins the memorial inside, where close friends and family have gone. He admires a framed picture of his late daughter. Rafe scowls he does not belong but Ed insists he does as the dad. He declares for decades he too had been involved in security work and is a specialist in tracking down people who try to make themselves vanish. Rafe counters that HE used to be in the FBI. Ed notes he did not know that but does want to know about him as well as Gabi. Rafe retorts this is not about him and gives him the cold shoulder ... Inside Daphne informs JJ that Paige did forgive him. JJ weeps. Brady urges temperamental Theresa to behave ... Ed makes a mysterious call for a favor ... Jen, Dan and JJ are about to leave when Eve catches sight of them and starts to scream in her sorrow. Justin suggests they leave. Eve now faces Dan and accuses him of betraying Paige by comforting Jen. She screams and cries she wants her daughter ... Chad believes the key is to get Clyde. Andre notes one must be certain the culprit is Clyde. Chad repeats Abigail is with Ben and why but Andre sees something more. The fact that Abigail believes in Chad's innocence could be quite useful. In fact he has an idea ... Dan sees Jen and JJ home. Jen and Dan emotionally embrace before the medicine man departs in his dark suit. JJ implores his mother to leave town. Jen will do no such thing and leaves the room to call Abigail ... Jump Street JJ quickly makes a call of his own, demanding a meeting ... Eve is in pain so sister Theresa consoles her. She loves her and hugs her. Brady is touched by Theresa's actions now and admits she surprises him at times ... Justin stands by Eve, who asks Ed if he is leaving Salem now. Not exactly. Ed greets the reporter and cameraman who have arrived and takes to the air, explaining he is the father of the girl who was murdered by Chad DiMera. He holds up a picture and offers $100,000 reward for his capture ...! THE END |
