Eve calmly sips her coffee at the square. The ding of her phone makes her look. Then she sighs and puts the phone away. Eduardo appears acting concerned. Eve had automatically assumed it was a message from Paige, having forgotten for a second that she was gone. T'was the phone company with a bill. Ed sits at her table and is sympathetic. He pragmatically points out at least she knew Paige. He will never get over the pain of not knowing the daughter he had to bury. However, he intends to stay in Salem and get acquainted with the others he had left behind ... Kayla comes over to the Kiriakis mansion, concerned about Adrienne. The two women embrace over the tragedy of Will. Kayla broaches the subject of the breast cancer mutation gene that Adrienne has, as per the tests. Kayla had been waiting to hear from her to discuss her options ... At the townhouse, teacher Louise from Winterthorne has sincerely stated to John she will check all her yearbooks for that certain someone he is searching for. Paul arrives as she exits and wonders who his dad is so desperate to find. John admits it is about his past ... Gabi gingerly approaches D.A. Justin at the station. She wishes to return to Will's apartment ... In his hospital room Chad remains oblivious and unconscious. Sami accuses him of falling to the will of murderous Stefano and killing her son. She suspects Stefano wanted to punish her for keeping Sydney and Johnny away from the evil one. Unlike EJ her hero, she suspects Chad did not stand up to father phoenix. Sami starts to suffocate him with the hospital pillow in the name of justice. Marlena bursts in and frantically pulls her back, in the name of common sense ... John pours himself a cup of freshly ground coffee. Paul had no idea he was missing part of his past, then laments about the loss of Will. He reasons he is partly responsible for if he had not come to town, Sonny would not have left Will. John stops him right there. He believes the only one to blame is one Chad DiMera ... Adrienne admits she was in no hurry as her mammograms were alright. Before they can continue the conversation, Sonny steps in. Adrienne embraces her grief-stricken son ... Gabi explains it might make it easier on the loved ones if she gathered Will's belongings for them where possible. Justin understands and adds he does think of himself as Arianna's grandfather and hopes that has not changed. Gabi emotionally assures him of course he is the grandfather. And is it true he intends to prosecute Chad for the crime? The District Attorney answers in the affirmative ... Sonny is utterly heartbroken ... Marlena is astounded by Sami's attempt at vigilante justice, not to mention that she was actually let into the room. She is relieved Chad still has a pulse and the Salem patient sleeps on. Sami is defiant. Marlena reminds her of her children and the fact that there is no comfort in revenge. She knows for she has been there ... Sonny weeps for not having the chance to tell Will he heard his message and wanted to try again. Now it is too late and he has to tell their two-year old daughter her daddy is dead. Kayla gives him her heartfelt condolences and lets him know she is here if he needs anything. Then she discreetly departs . Adrienne keeps hugging her heartbroken son who just lost his hubby ... Eve is a tad bitter but warns Eduardo it will not be easy for him to ever be accepted by the Hernandez kids he abandoned all those years ago, She pities him for the lost times he will never have with Paige her shining star ... Paul is curious about the kid in the photograph - the kid he thinks his father wants to find. John admits it is actually him (John). Paul is even more perplexed and presses him for more ... Mama Marlena marches Sami out of the Salem patient's room, only to come face to face with seated Stefano and his thug. Marlena must pull raging Sami back from pouncing. Stefano politely offers her his condolences for William, as he used to call him. Sami threatens to kill his son who did it and also threatens to kill Stefano. The DiMera don takes it all in stride ... Justin returns home. Sonny emotionally embraces his father and weeps he has lost Will. How can he live without him??? ... At the hospital Dr. Dan the dedicated medicine man converses with Dr. Kayla about Caroline's case. Kayla admits an experimental drug was used that will not be included on the chart. Dan hopes it made her mom better. It seems so. He asks if anyone told her about Will. Not yet, for how could she take so much tragedy? Kayla gets emotional about these tragic times and ends up in an unexpected hug with Dan ... Marlena is by the town gate with Sami. She tries to talk her daughter down but Sami is enraged about the DiMeras going after Will. Her un-DiMera daughter Ali could be next! Marlena feels responsible since it all started with the DiMeras due to her and John. She can relate to Sami feeling hollow for she could not bear the mere thought of losing someone she loved ... Paul is stunned when John states he used to be Stefano's pawn with no memory of his former life. Stefano's flunky Petrov brought him to Salem. John credits the love of Marlena for making him a survivor, who he is today. Paul is impressed. John notes he was adopted by the Alamains and now knows their young son Forest's drowning death was faked. There was sand in the casket (like sands in an hourglass) ... John is after a connection cos Forest attended the school where Petrov worked. Paul asks if he is sure he wants to know the truth. John insists he has to know! Paul marvels his real dad turned out to be even better than the dad he used to dream of having. John is touched. Paul talks involvement in his investigation ... Sonny weeps he has never felt such pain. His parents tell him to be strong for Arianna. He suddenly gasps he has got to do something and goes ...Marlena laments she did not want to believe they had lost Will for real. John returned from the dead. Sami sighs Will is not coming back. She blames Stefano the dastardly DiMera who kills all that is good ... Paul is pleased to tell John he has an old roommate from the minors who attended Winterthorne Academy like his father before him. He plays for the Cubs. He offers to contact him in case he can help. John is moved ... Eve sees Justin at the square, so sorry about poor Will. Justin sighs he just saw Sonny. Eve wants to buy him a drink. Justin ignores an incoming call from Adrienne and excuses himself in a hurry ... Sonny slowly walks into his and Will's apartment. Gabi is there and they share an unhappy hug ... Stefano is alone in Chad's hospital room. The Salem patient is still sleeping. Father Phoenix implores him to fight his way back, his eyes filled with tears ... At the square after Ed leaves Rafe a voicemail to call him, a reporter asks for a statement. Ed announces two things - he is pleased Chad DiMera has been apprehended and by the way his name is Eduardo HERNANDEZ ... Sonny collapses on the floor where Will was found and sobs his heart out. Gabi gives him his privacy and assures him he can see Arianna anytime anytime. Sonny is standing when a knock sounds on the door. He assumes Gabi has returned and opens it, only to come face to face with PAUL ... Justin heads home as he knew Adrienne wished to speak to him. She tells him she has loved him since she was a teenager. Justin is touched. She now tells him she tested positive for the breast cancer mutation gene. He murmurs her name and she explains she has a decision to make... Stefano weeps to sleeping Chad that he could not bear to lose another child ... Sami and Marlena are back at the townhouse. John has been worriedly waiting and asks Marlena for an update. Marlena is clearly concerned. John stands by his woman. Sami soon sits on her bed alone with a bundle of old mail Marlena gave her as it had bounced back. It is Sami's mail. Sami opens an envelope and immediately recognizes the handwriting. It is from EJ. The final phrases of his last letter are clear. I WILL HOLD IT FOR US ... ALL MY LOVE, EJ ... THE END! |
