There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Tis morning in Salem. Abi gets home from a hearty run only to be greeted by JJ and Jen’s loooong faces. Bad news. Jen stammers it is EJ. Abigail stops and stares with dread. Jen explains he perished last night. Abi blinks and JJ announces he was murdered! Nicole goes to Dan’s place, demanding he explain what his text about being sorry means. What is this game? Dan laments last night EJ lost his life. She sits in stunned silence and he updates her, sorry, for he assumed she knew. Nicole was in Chicago to research a story on gang crime. She poses the question that weights heavy on many minds … Is he really dead?! Dr. Dan thinks so. Nicole now sniffles and recalls how they were crazy for each other and made each other crazy too. She sobs on Dan’s strong shoulder. Once she has recovered, she calls maid Mary and gets an unseen unheard update on the children. She is especially concerned about sensitive Sydney. Dan suggests she go over to offer her support. Nicole thinks Sami would suspect she was intentionally overstepping, not to mention Eric would be present and Marlena would not approve. Dan stops her from leaving and breathes she should share her grief, talk to someone. He offers to be her listener for he knows how much she loved him. Nicole stops at the door … In her room, woman in red Kristen leaves Chad another voice mail about her offer. This is tough for them both, she knows! Knock Knock. Tis unshaven Brady, man in black, who had to come and check on her. She throws herself into his manly arms for a hug. Woeful music plays and the woman in red thanks him for his sympathy. She invites him in and he accepts. He is aware she did love EJ. She did indeed despite her recent rage at him for not supporting her. She asks about the kids. Brady babbles about giving Sami some space. Kristen coos then he came to see her first! He folds his arms and makes light of it. She gets glib. He repeats he merely wanted to check on how she was coping. She sighs about Chad, then hands Brady a coffee and complains about all her regrets, looking at him like a lost little girl. He can relate, as he hates how he was with his father. He notes he got a second chance, all because of her. If only he could return the favor! Kristen is touched. She asks how John fares. Wonderfully and he is expected to fully recover. Kristen quips he already seemed back to his old self. Brady is mighty relieved and brings up how he put him in that coma. Kristen flashes back to telling Dan the culprit was Theresa the terrible. She urges Brady to believe her when she says it was NOT his fault! Ben and Sonny and Will gather at the Wilson apartment, all about their ball game. Crying Sami now calls her son. Will assumes she was angry, hence her and EJ’s snub. Red faced Sami sits up in her disheveled big bed alone and stammers she assumed he already knew … Will snaps he has no time to hear how he screwed up. Sami says stop cos EJ is dead! Will cannot believe she would say such a thing. Her voice hoarse, she confirms the veracity of what she said. She thought he would have heard and fell asleep herself. EJ was shot dead in a mugging. There was so much blood … Her voice trails off as she falls apart. Will implores her to hang on, he and hubby Sonny are on their way! He now breaks the shocking news to Sonny and Ben, then goes to get changed. Ben heads out to check on his girlfriend. Altruistic Will soon tells Sonny he wants to help and regrets how harsh he was with his mother. He hopes he did not cause her grief. Sonny gives him a supportive embrace and assures him he will fare just fine with Sami. At the mansion, Eric gives Sami a supportive embrace down in the living room. Marlena and Caroline go to see the nanny and the kids upstairs, giving the siblings a moment. Eric murmurs he will make up for all the time he was not around. Sami wishes it was a bad dream but alas she cannot wake up! Whatever happened to their happily ever after? She falls to pieces in her twin’s arms again. He heard she found EJ. She did and said she loved him. He heard her too. Her face still red from crying, she complains about the time that was taken from them so cruelly and cries and cries. Eric assures her all the sweet memories belong to her still and those will never die. He shows her a picture of their happy family and she clutches to it, crying as he continues to comfort her. Sami sniffles she sees EJ in their children and vows to keep them from harm’s way. She must therefore get them away from Stefano and his wicked daughter! Eric is somewhat surprised. Sami explains EJ would want that, she can feel it … Will woefully states Sami always has the worst luck, It is so unfair. Sonny opens the door and Will adds he will have to call Lucas on the way … Abigail breaks down, so sorry for the innocent kids who lost their father. Jen hugs her as she sobs. JJ answers the door. Tis big Ben. JJ suggests he come back later. But Ben insists on seeing her. Abi informs Jen she was so mad at EJ. Now he is dead and she feels only sadness. Jen is sorry as she sobs. JJ announces Ben and Abi thanks him for his support. She hugs him and Jen excuses herself to the hospital, where a statement will need to be prepared about the fallen board member. JJ excuses himself as well. Babi hold each other close. She hopes they find the killer and apologizes for being so emotional. Ben acts like her rock and doesn’t let her go … Nicole recounts to Dan the disaster that befell them after she fell in love with EJ. Dan remembers it well. She admits her love for him was like an obsession. Until she accepted she would always be second to Samantha in his heart. Dan notes they had moved forward. Nicole recalls their last exchange, when she wished him the best. She sure hopes he knew she meant it. She now thanks Dan for listening. It felt like old times, once upon a time when they were friends. Dan now takes a bold step and invites her to the pub for a coffee after he drops off Parker. She accepts. Friends again … Broody Brady believes without a shadow of doubt that he was the one who put John in hospital. Kristen cautiously questions the accuracy of John’s story and tries to make him see there is more. Brady senses something. Kristen suggests they talk later tonight. But Brady suspects she is trying to get her claws into him and decides he is done. This is officially goodbye! At the mansion, Will and Sonny arrive and embrace grateful Sami. Sonny offers to do anything she needs. She gasps thank you. Will starts to apologize for his harsh words and his behavior toward her and EJ of late. Sami insists it matters not. Will woefully admits he cared about EJ. Sami smiles he returned the sentiment and was proud of him too. No regrets! She assures her son EJ wanted them to get close again and hugs him. Caroline approaches as the pub needs the store room key. She needs a ride. Eric offers to go in her place and hugs Sami again. He promises to be back. She smiles he had better be back cos he is her brother! JJ helps Jen carry a box into the hospital. They talk Ben. JJ thinks he seems alright. He makes a snide remark about him being a step up from that EJ and Jen gives him a look. She decides they should invite both Ben and Paige to dinner. JJ disagrees with the Paige part. Jen senses trouble for the young lovers. JJ decides he has somewhere to go and takes off in a hurry. It leaves Jen wondering ... Nicole sits all alone at the pub, speaking to unseen unheard sister Taylor on a long distance call. She just wanted EJ’s former flame, who happens to be her sister, to know and tells her sorry sis to take care. Now the time has come for a much needed drink. She approaches the bar and notices Eric, who notices her right back. Their eyes lock with burning desire. He says hey and soulfully sips his coffee. She had thought he was with Sami. He was but came by for Caroline on an errand. She asks about Sami and also Sydney, then asks him to relay how sorry she is. Eric agrees and adds he was planning to call her since she and EJ used to be … She thanks him, then must step away to take a work call. That is when Dan walks in and offers his condolences. He casually states he is here to meet Nicole. Eric regards him with suspicion, surprised they are friends again. Dan laughingly admits he is not sure yet. Eric is not amused. He flies at him for his strange sudden friendship with Kristen as well … Kristen points out Salem is a small place so they will not be able to avoid each other forever. Brady advises her to get outta town. He suggests she go to Stefano. Kristen believes Brady does not hate her. Her phone rings and Brady suggests she answer. Tis the phoenix. Brady decides there is no more. Kristen begs him to wait and speak with her one more time tonight. That is all she is asking. Exit Brady. He pauses at the door, then woefully walks away ... Marlena opens the DiMera front door to a suited man bearing a box. She gasps and accepts it. Inside, Will is informing his mother that Lucas is on his way home from Hong Kong. Sami thinks it is too long and Lucas will be worried about Ali. Sonny suggests she send him a text once the plane touches down in San Francisco and hands her a glass of water. Will announces all the bad blood is over. Sonny adds they had intended to enlighten them at the party. Sami understands, then stares when Marlena walks in with the URN. Sami was aware he wished to be cremated so Stefano would not bury him with the other DiMeras. Will notes it does seem rather fast! Marlena asks about a service. Sami hastily replies EJ did not want a sad service for the kids and excuses herself to see them. Out in the foyer, she starts to collapse in grief. Enter Brady. He opens his arms and she jumps in, sobbing as he quietly consoles her. Ben gives Abigail a pep talk. He gets her sorrow as EJ the cad did not deserve death so she has the right to grieve. She thanks him for being there and leans on him again as he holds her face and kisses her … Dan does not understand. Eric accuses him of engaging in secret talks with evil Kristen. Nicole comes out and denies Dan did such a thing. But Dan does not deny it … Brady greets the gang and hugs Marlena. Will and Sonny offer to check on the kids. Sami thanks them with a brave smile. As Marlena observes, Brady asks how she is feeling. Sami dramatically declares she is fine and she will now devote herself to protecting the children … Meanwhile Stefano the great and powerful is on his phone thanking devilish daughter Kristen for her swift action. Elvis’ body has arrived and he is now where he belongs, with the familia! Samantha that beech will never even know his ashes are NOT in that urn. Tis a classic dastardly DiMera deception ...!
