These are my words. There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Kristen obsesses over losing to Theresa the terrible in her dark room, hissing how she hates John! She whacks the chair with a pillow repeatedly and is out of breath by the time she answers her loudly ringing phone. Tis Stefano calling about Elvis. Bad news to report. HE’S DEAD. Kristen is shocked. Stefano sighs it was a park mugging. Elvis was shot and perished on the ground at the scene. Kristen asks father if he is alright. He mutters he will be and asks her to stay by the phone. Done. In her room all alone, Kristen now gets upset about brother EJ being gone. Dangerously upset. She did not want him to be gone and throws a glass and another and another and a decanter against the wall. They shatter and she shrieks Nooooooo! Kristen has soon trashed her entire hotel room and sits numbly on a chair, staring out the window into the darkness. She flashes back to their first meeting and her threat to destroy him, his amused reaction. She cries she did not really mean what she said … Stefano rages on his phone. He needs this done now DAMN IT! He slams down the phone ... Kate proposes a toast to her and Chad’s partnership at the pub. He thinks that is a provocative thing to do in public. Kate toasts to the destruction of that dastardly duo of EJ and Stefano. Chad the charming cad has another sip of his champagne and praises her for always looking out for him. He does love some DiMeras, like Kristen and his nephews and nieces but not EJ and Stefano. He gets indignant about EJ sleeping with Abigail and Stefano’s lack of sympathy, all while pretending to care like a father. He drawls EJ is dead to him. Chad now gets a call from Stefano and repeats to Kate he has news. Kate smiles. The phoenix announces that brother Elvis is dead! Chad agrees. The phoenix impatiently explains. He means he is really dead! He was murderrrrrred tonight! Chad freezes. Roman sees the children into the mansion they now call home and hopes they had fun at the party. Johnny innocently asks after mommy and daddy. Roman offers to let them wait up for their delayed folks. They decide to play with a coloring app and make party pictures. They run off and Roman takes a call from Marlena, who is presently outside the pub. She wonders where Sami is and what happened. She was a no show at the party for the kids and Will said Roman left with them. He confirms he did …. Sami weeps over pallid lifeless EJ at the morgue and caresses his head. He was too young! How did it come to this! No answer. She touches his chest with tenderness and flashes to his first shirtless appearance at her door. She knows it was love at first sight for him, but some part of her inside knew then too that he was the one. She smiles how it changed when she heard his family name. DiMera. Then she hated him but they survived. It took her years to admit that she always knew she was meant to love him. She cries she is sorry she never said so to him for so long. She was too stubborn but this is so unfair! They deserve their happily ever after! This is the worst lie for he had promised her they had forever! How could he do this to her! She flashes back to romantic moments, a dance, his kind words once upon a time. What they shared was a gift. They understood each other deeply. She flashes back to teasing him about his bad habits like the clicking noise he makes. It brings a smile to her face. And that sweet scam he pulled on her pretending he needed to prove he was married to stay in the country was something. She takes his hand in hers and gazes at him. She wants justice! These rings were their new beginning, the past be damned … where is their now and forever? She flashes back to his romantic new vows, including flashbacks of a tango, happy times, a family moment … She remembers him promising not to take their love for granted, that she was his heartbeat, his plan to spend each day of their lives working to prove he was worthy to have a place at her side. Sami cries like a baby and lies down beside him in the morgue. She weeps he will be a big part of every day of her life. Her love for him will never die! She kisses him and adds she will raise the children exactly as he wanted. They will always remember him and she will keep them safe, far from the clutches of evil Stefano. But who will teach Johnny about girls and walk Sydney down the aisle and help Ali with her homework? She cannot do it without him! At the nurse’s station, Rafe and Abe discuss the junkie being the prime suspect. Puzzled Rafe admits he had not anticipated such an end to EJ’s life …. Roman quietly informs Marlena that EJ was shot tonight and did not survive. Marlena is shocked. OH MY GOD! Sami must be utterly crushed! Roman explains he is with the kids at the mansion and Sami will need a clean change of clothes for the clothes she was wearing were covered in her husband’s blood. Marlena is on her way … She later finds Sami crying over EJ and places a hand on her shoulder. Then she holds her tight, whispering how sorry she is. Sami laments she lost the love of her life. Marlena points out how lucky she was to have found him. Sami laments she is all alone. Mama Marlena reminds her the family is here for her. Sami now asks about the kids. Marlena explains Roman is waiting with them at the house. Sami morphs into mama bear mode and insists she speak with them to break the news before they hear it from another source. She emotionally tells motionless EJ he was worth it all. Then she places a sweet kiss on his cold lips. Marlena fights back the tears, to be strong for her, and consoles her crying daughter, who still has his blood on her clothes. They exit together. EJ lies still alone. Chad calls it a prank. Stefano has another call and promises to be in touch. Chad stammers bitterly. Kate wonders. Chad sighs EJ is dead. Kate thinks it is a trick. Chad notes Stefano sounded serious. He remembers sending Sami to EJ in the dark park, wonders, and starts to go … Stefano gets back to his other call, demanding he be contacted once everything is in place. He picks up a picture of his son from his desk, flashes back to the time EJ begged him to take back what he stole from him, and keeps staring at the picture. Things were not always easy but how he loved him! He flashes back to telling him how he had passed his DiMera test with flying colors … Kate suspiciously calls Roman, seeking confirmation. He urges her to tell no one as the kids have not been informed. He confirms EJ was shot dead and Sami found him. Kate thanks him and tells Chad it is true. She is sorry. He questions that and then questions himself too. He holds back the tears and admits he has no right … At the nurse’s station, Marlena asks Roman to find a room for Sami to change from her blood stained clothes. Sami emotionally thanks Rafe for his help. He lets her know if there is anything she or the kids need and she collapses in his hug in tears. Then she asks Abe whether Theo has been told. He will explain it to him in the morning that EJ is now with Lexie. He assures Sami they will find the culprit who set this in motion. She thanks him and goes to get changed. Chad recalls his harsh words to EJ, those last words he spoke to him, that he deserved to die. Kat tells him not to go there. EJ was a good father and Chad must focus on the kids. Chad wants to head to the house. Kate suggests they stay away, to leave Sami with her clan. She goes to get them something stronger to drink, to dull the pain … Chad is at a loss. Sami slowly enters the mansion clad in a clean blue top and remembers coming down the grand staircase with EJ, kissing him by the door. So many memories. She cries and looks in the mirror. More memories reduce her to an emotional mess. She sobs her heart out. Roman comes out to console his distraught daughter. She wails on daddy’s shoulder as Marlena enters. Sami wonders where the kids are. Coloring on their tablets. She has no idea of the time and decides she must do this now. Marlena suggests she wait, given her state. Sami cries EJ always calls them at night when he is not at home. They will know something is amiss. She goes in the living room with a deep breath. The kids look up from their tablets. Johnny removes his spectacles and worriedly wonders where his daddy is … Kristen takes another call from father. He gently asks about his dear daughter in Italiano. He now asks for her help and bids her to listen to his instructions. Time is of the essence! Back at the pub, Chad downs a drink and suggests he and Kate move out of the mansion. She insists they stay, for the children need to be protected from Stefano the great and powerful, who will now be out to gain control of them. She pours herself another drink and vows they will not let it happen! Sami sits with the kids and starts to explain ... Johnny asks when daddy is coming home. He is not. Did they fight? Negative. Sami woefully states she has sad news. The window is shown from outside so no voices are heard. But actions speak louder than words and the three lost little lambs collapse in a family hug with their mother … Meanwhile back at the morgue, Kristen does Stefano’s bidding. She silently stands by EJ’s motionless form, injects the vein in his arm with a big needle, and waits. Ominous music plays … THE END! AHEAD ON DAYS: Sami gets a dreadful delivery. Kristen leans on Brady. |
