These are my words. There is only one DaysCafe :) THIS IS THE WAY IT WAS The party guests watch the drama unfolding right before their eyes. Abigail waves the letter she found in front of her father and mother. Jen wonders. Abigail hisses he wrote it to Kate, who wants to know how she came across it. She snaps she went to borrow her shoes and this envelope was in one of the boxes with Jack’s handwriting. Why did dad write Kate a letter while wife Jen lay in a coma?! Jen turns and waits for hubby to explain. Kate fibs it was a thank you for flowers she sent. Abigail snaps tis not true and gasps. Jen gets curious. Abigail drops the damning letter in disgust and leaves. Jen snatches it before Kate can and reads aloud. Jack admitted to waking up in Kate’s bed that morning. These were his words in the letter he wrote. Jack stares in stunned silence. Gwen watches her mayhem unfold like a raven-haired hawk in the shadows. Jack calls the letter ancient history. Jen deduces what he and Kate the siren did and storms out. Jack goes after her. Kate picks up her letter. Steve accuses her of making moves on his bro. Jake warns him to back off. Kate sarcastically reminds Steve his son violated her granddaughter and storms out. Jake faithfully follows. Kayla stands by her man ... Gwen follows Chad, who informs her Abigail is being sick in the bathroom. She was not supposed to drink! He demands to know what she knows about the letter. Just that Jen was not Jack’s one and only ... Jack catches up with crying Jen at the park. She feels furiously betrayed. Jack wants to tell her the whole story. It started after so many long days and nights without her. He used to head to the pub for a drink and a meal. Kate lent him her ear and made him feel better when she worked her night shift ... Jake follows Kate to her room. She assures him she is alright and is angry about the privacy violation. He closes the door and asks if she really did it with Abigail’s dad. At the same time at their different locations, Kate and Jack claim it was complicated ... Jen listens while Jack admits he felt all alone. Stylish Kate says the same story to Jake while pub flashbacks are shown. Kate felt for Jack, who leaned on her as a listener. Waitress Kate would sit a little while with him day after day after day. She assured him Jen would wake up as did her son Lucas. Any woman would want to wake up to such a wonderful mate. Jen hates hearing how the romance started. Jack insists it was all about Jen. He was so worried and confided his fears to kind-hearted Kate. Jen is no longer facing him. He breaks down about that bad day when the waiting finally took its toll. There was no sign when he kissed Jen’s hand. Then it was back to the pub. He was downing shots. Kate offered to call a cab, but he could not bear to go back to his empty house, his empty bed again and rubbed his face with his hands. Back to the present. Jen sadly states he spent the night in Kate’s bed! That was in the incriminating letter ... Smug Gwen innocently asks how Abigail is. Chad only spoke with his wife through the locked bathroom door. She wants to be alone. Gwen pretends to blame herself for suggesting she borrow Kate’s silver shoes. Chad gets to thinking but says nothing ... Jen dares Jack to say the words. He confesses he went to Kate’s room and spent the night in her bed. Strange piano music plays. Kate continues the story. Jack was drunk and feeling alone. She too felt alone and so the two lonely hearts came together ... Jen dares Jack to deny the affair but he cannot. He had cried like a baby, his head on stunning Kate's lap while she stroked him. Then he raised his head and she held it in her hands ... Jen gets they were kissing and asks if she should assume they also made love. Jack whispers it is a worst regret, but he slept with Kate. When he woke up in the morning he was alone. Jen whimpers like a wounded animal. He remembers the sun streaming in and his horror. Jen shakes like a leaf as she breaks down in the darkness. Jack blurts out he has been burdened by the guilt ever since. He remembers ignoring hopeful Kate afterwards at the pub and returning to her hospital room, where Abigail was waiting. Abigail had sensed something but had to go to the Spectator. Jack promised his sleeping wife one day he would tell her and beg for forgiveness. Then he proceeded to write Kate his letter of regret. Kate read it at the pub with a sad sigh ... Back in her room Kate concludes to curious Jake that Jack suggested they keep their secret. Jake gets sarcastic about him acting like it was just a one-night stand. Kate adds they were even able to avoid one another until ... One day stylish Kate ran into Jack at DiMera mansion, stunned he and Jen had moved in to look after the grandkids. She graciously thanked him for his letter. He hoped them being under the same roof would not pose a problem. She promised no one would hear anything from her. He had downed his drink in a hurry, thanked her and raced out, clearly rattled. After Kate left the room, Gwen emerged from the secret door, smug as a bug ... Gwen now innocently and insincerely cries about what happened. Chad replies he knows she was not to blame and hugs her ... Kate was convinced no one would ever find out. Jake questions why she kept the letter, and she admits it meant something ... Jen can barely bring herself to look at Jack. He emotionally explains the happiest day of his life was when she woke up. However, there were so many stressful stories to tell he could not bear to unburden himself. It was just one lost night ... Kate does not want to discuss the letter. Jake wonders whether she is in love with Jack Devereaux ... JJ asks after his sister. Chad states she is sick and locked in the loo. JJ sighs. Chad steps away to see how she is. Gwen pretends to regret the train wreck. JJ is relieved he is here to help the family. Chad returns gasping Abigail is gone ... Kate sits on her bed and reasons it felt good to help Jack. However, she realizes she will be persona non grata now. Jake sits beside her and smiles he does not judge her. He leans in for a smooch. Kate does too ... Back at the dark park, Jen thanks Jack for his story and he begs her not to walk away. Will she be able to forgive him???????? STAY TUNED! Luv Cathy |
