LOST AND FOUND!

PART 1

- Replay of Bo and Hope warning Sami of the TV report on the body
of a boy found in neighboring Brookville. Sami shakes her head and cries it is not him, it simply cannot be so. Rafe consoles her. She yells at them to stop looking at her like that. She screams it is not him. Bo assures her there is no indication it is Johnny. Sami wants to go just in case. She cries she cannot lose him and Rafe puts his arms around her. They give Sami
a glass of water as she sits on the sofa, having been calmed somewhat. Will enters and cries, asking if it is Johnny. Bo explains they do not have
a positive ID. Upset Sami insists it is not her Johnny and tells Rafe to go down there just to be sure. He does not wish to leave her alone but she asks him to go for her. Bo and Hope hug her and depart. Rafe reminds her he loves her and follows them out. Sami cries and embraces Will. He wants her to eat and offers to order her pasta. She thinks that is a good idea. He steps away to put in the order online. Alone in the room, Sami notices it is past 7 p.m. She sits and picks up a family photo of her and Johnny. Still crying, she walks around and drops it. She grabs her keys, numbly walking out the door. Will returns and sees that she has gone.
- Marlena, John, Carrie, and Austin watch the news report together at
the townhouse. Marlena cries it cannot be their sweet Johnny, who has been missing since yesterday. John assures her if it were him, Roman would have called. He announces this is why he must plead guilty. Carrie and Marlena want a trial but John thunders there shall be no trial! He will NOT put his family through any more hell! He stares out the window. Marlena urges him to fight for them all. He laments he cannot live with himself and what if something happened to any of them? He knows he is right and no one will stop him! Marlena asks for a moment alone with
her husband and tries to change his mind. He stands his ground. Besides, they still do not know if he is guilty. He might have stolen billions from innocents and if that is true, then by God, he deserves to be locked up! Marlena cries and they embrace. She suddenly points out they would not have been conscious decisions. It would have been Stefano's doing. John reminds her that under the influence of the phoenix, he could do and has done worse. She fears he could be killed in prison. He drawls he can
take care of himself. Marlena would rather be shot at a thousand times than spend a day without him in her life! Carrie and Austin come back. There was another news report, they explain. Carrie is in tears. "Oh my God!" gasps John. Realizing the boy was probably Johnny, Marlena is reduced to tears. John embraces her and tries to console her, fighting
back his own tears.
- At the mansion, EJ sits by the fireplace and addresses Johnny's picture, begging him to come home. He starts to sob he did what he did for him and if anything happened to him ... He is so sorry! He now gets a call
and asks if they have found his son. He drops the phone and staggers back, then falls and cries silently. Tragic music is heard as Sami slowly enters. They clutch each other in front of the fireplace and sob together. He exclaims it cannot be him and stands up. Sami continues to whimper. EJ stares, still blaming himself. He comes back to Sami and rubs her shoulder, telling her there is still hope. Johnny is tough and smart like her
- and brave. He is one hell of a kid. Sami quietly agrees. EJ feels in his heart that their boy is out there, fighting to come home to them. Sami stands up and proceeds to blame herself, then blames John Black, the thieving bastard! She yells he should have stayed out of their lives. EJ starts to say he must tell her something but is interrupted when they see there is another report on TV. The female announcer confirms that the boy's body found was indeed Johnny DiMera. EJ freezes. Sami crouches down and cries quietly. EJ numbly takes a few steps, not sure how to react, but that soon changes ...
- In Brookville, Bo arrives on scene and flashes his badge. Rafe wants to be the one to identify the child. He promised Sami. Bo and Hope wait.
Bo hugs her after Rafe crosses the police tape. Hope remembers how tragic it is to lose a child and hopes it is not Johnny. Rafe returns. Is it Johnny? He looks ready to cry.
- Marlena wants to call Sami and go to her. She cannot reach her on the phone and makes for the door with Carrie. Bo and Hope have arrived
and explain the child was not Johnny, nor was the blood on the shirt his. The TV station has been ordered to make an immediate retraction of the erroneous report. The gang are relieved. John decides if he pleads guilty,
a kidnapper might release Johnny, so there is still hope. Bo points out if Johnny is hiding somewhere, it will not make a difference. John is determined and demands to see a judge. Carrie replies it is too late. He starts to make the call himself. Marlena implores him to wait until the morning. John hands Carrie the phone, She grudgingly agrees and warns there will be no going back. Bo and Hope urge him to reconsider. Bo suggests he is in no state to make a decision like this. But the former DiMera pawn is convinced this is the only way to keep his family safe. Austin steps forward and admits his job requires him to study facts and numbers only. But his instincts and all he has seen and knows tells him that he is innocent. "You're a good man, John, and I am sorry that I ever doubted you." John thanks him. No need for apologies, as he was just doing his job. Austin, however, wants to make this right. He offers to go over all the evidence, until he finds something. John thinks that is not necessary. He asks him to be good to Carrie and never stop loving her.
He also asks him to look out for his family while he is gone. Austin
replies he does not need to ask him. The two men embrace. Moments later, Carrie bears news. The judge and prosecution have agreed to meet tonight. John and Marlena are given their final moment alone. She begs him not to do this. John is sorry he let her down. Marlena sighs he never did. He is the bravest, most selfless man she has ever known. He is the love of her life. He wipes a few tears away from his face and then admits being away from her will be the hardest thing he has had to do. But he cannot risk anyone else getting hurt. He takes her face in his hands and vows his love for her will not change. She laments she does not know what she will do without him. He tenderly tells her that she will hold the family together and embraces her. This is the moment he wants her to remember - of him holding her tight. He will always love her. Forever. She whispers she loves him forever too. They shut their eyes, crying.
- In Brookville, Rafe informs Bo and Hope that the body he saw was not Johnny. They are relieved. He immediately calls the loft to give Sami the news. Will answers and sniffles. Sami is not there and he knows not where she is. He cries he wanted to get her dinner, then sobs the TV said it was his brother. Rafe insists it was not him. He suddenly worries what Sami will do, given she is out there and might believe Johnny is dead ...
