Ed arrives on diva Kate's doorstep as she discusses business with the all powerful Mr. Wu in Asia. She now complains she had to cut the call short as Ed was dictating into his diary. She pouts - until Ed presents her with a single romantic red rose. Then she smiles ... Romance is in the air ... Dario walks and talks with Blanca at the square. He dreamily kisses her ... Steve catches up with Kayla at the park. He is glad to hear Theresa is better and adds he was just on a call with John. The man in black is doing what he can to help Hope. Failure is not an option. Steve worries a cop in prison could be a target. Kayla remembers what went down last time, how Hope the cop was almost killed ... In a private room Rafe lets Hope know Andre kept his end of their deal and all charges were dropped but murder. Hope tries to hide her death penalty fear. Rafe insists they can appeal. Shawn arrives and voices his support . Mother and son share an emotional embrace ... At Horton house Doug curses the pro-DiMera judge to Julie, who also fears the worst. Julie urges him to hush cos Ciara will hear. The glum girl joins them in her dress. Julie tries to be positive ... At the station Commissioner Roman wants to know how da hell Justin got Andre to drop the charges. Justin calls it a cool logical argument and more. The DiMera will keep his word and he is on the record. However, temporary D.A. Trask could be trouble. Roman asks for an assessment. Justin shares his strategy, that he will prove poor Hope was the victim ... Hope laments she took a life. Shawn reasons why she was not responsible given how Stefano had terrorized her time and time again. Clever Justin will convince the judge. Hope thanks God her son came and they clasp hands. Rafe smiles at the sight... Kate the cat is curious. Eduardo confirms he is courting her He convinces her to join him for a couple of Bloody Marys at the square. Their eyes lock with intensity ... Roman discusses the drama with Marlena at the pub. They both intend to attend the hearing for Hope. Marlena feels strongly that the report she was asked to prepare will help prove that Hope's mental state was not as clear as the D.A. would argue. Roman admits he almost killed DiMera himself a couple of times. Marlena muses she shot him once upon a time ... At the square Adrienne and Jen are all about their newspaper on this newsworthy day. Jenny - the court reporter du jour - vows to tell the whole story to the letter. Adrienne will meet her at the courtroom as soon as she attends to her flowers. Tis her wedding day. She looks forward to her life with Lucas. Jen calls him lucky to have such a lady in his life. Now to the courtroom she goes. Adrienne calls to check on the flower arrangement. After the call, she runs into suited Justin. She wonders whether he is as positive as he is acting. The man she believes to be the best lawyer has never been easy to read. She praises him for defending Hope and he thanks her from the bottom of his logical heart. They walk to the courtroom together arm in arm ... Hope whispers Shawn should not to put his life on hold for her, he should focus on the now ... At the square Blanca marvels Dario got her cup of coffee just right. She soap sighs they might be moving too fast. She is still rather raw after Guillermo. Dario replies he is in no hurry and blurts out his new business with Eduardo is keeping him busy. She wants to know what that would be. Dario remembers his promise not to reveal his and Ed's secret plans and talks his way out. He fibs his father just wants to expand the club. Ed arrives with Kate and seconds the notion ... At the courthouse Julie asks Jen if there is any way Hope can be spared. Jen thinks Justin will make a good case and Adrienne agrees. Julie notices her enthusiasm for her ex ... Rafe tells subdued Hope it is time ... He wishes he had stopped her. Hope deduces Stefano might be dead but he won. In the courtroom Trask Vs. Justin. He reminds her last time he won against her. Justin feels further empowered when Adrienne tells him to pulverize her! She then confides to Jen that Justin can be hard on himself at times. It troubles her ... Kate must step away on a business call. Dario invites them to join his table. Ed agrees and sits down. Blanca is not happy to see Ed without Adriana and now with another. Ed gets cryptic about not being the man Adrianna knew. Literally ... Back at the courthouse Shawn tries to make seated sister Ciara feel better. Hope is escorted inside and rubs her sore wrists. She looks at all who support her and sits by Justin, who says to focus ... All rise, from Steve and Kayla to Doug and Julie. Here comes the judge! Blanca must step away to answer a call from the hospital. That gives Ed and Dario a moment alone. Ed likes that Blanca is loyal and asks how serious they are. Dario knows not and Kate? Ed uses the F word - friends - followed by dazzling adjectives like stunning smart and fierce. Kate is his ice and fire woman. Dario wonders what she would have to say about their secret scheme. Ed notes no one will know anything. Blanca, however, has overheard and walks away. Dario runs after her. Blanca reveals she now knows Ed has a secret from Kate concerning business. It makes her wonder what Dario might be hiding from her ... Kate rejoins Ed and suspects he set it up so they would run into his son ... The lady judge brings up the record and the severity of the crime which make her believe Hope is therefore eligible for the death penalty. Both sides are given the chance to argue their position. Trask stands and begins by accusing Hope of premeditated murder. Justin laments it looks like she is out for blood ... Kate and Ed discuss Dario and kids in general. Kate has already had her first bloody Mary and would like another to forget the fact that Lucas is marrying Adrienne against her wishes later today ... Blanca refuses to be involved with anyone shady like Guillermo again. Dario announces he is going to tell her the truth. Ominous music plays in the background ... Trask takes the court back to that fateful day when Hope the detective killed a man, covered up her crime and then framed another! Justin objects. The judge issues a warning. But still Trask rages. She rages Stefano's life mattered but Hope the detective killed him in cold blood so she deserves DEATH BY LETHAL INJECTION. The court is stunned into silence ... Kate teasingly asks if Ed planned this. Of course. He planned they would lunch with drinks. She muses she meant seeing Dario and Blanca. Ed admits he would like her to know his other son better. He now uses the S word ... SERIOUS cos he is SERIOUS about her ... Dario smoothly spins to Blanca that he and Ed are using a competitor of Kate's to expand their club. It is all rather vague but he promises to stay on the straight and narrow and kisses her ... Justin instinctively looks at Adrienne when he stands to state his case. He feels strong as he announces Hope was in fact a VICTIM ... END! Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Theresa is busted by Brady but it's not real! Andre and Chad address the court ... |
