Abigail buys it ... Jake has just suggested he and Kate continue their secret affair behind Chad’s back. Speak of the devil! He bangs on the door. Chad wants a word. She opens the door partially and wants some sleep. He wants to update her and asks to enter. Jake, who was hiding behind the open door, smoothly slips out after Chad enters. Chad turns back around and announces Abigail has vanished ... Charlie slips away unseen. Theo stops Claire’s kiss ... Phillip finds out Sarah forgave Xander and suggests some leftovers from the cook. Kate is less than sympathetic since she stole and read her private letter. Chad babbles about her mixing booze with her meds and is worried. Kate is sorry for her. Chad becomes judgmental about her affair with Jack while Abigail’s beloved mom was comatose ... Abigail appreciates Gwen’s support and heads back to the bathroom due to the champagne. Gwen gets smug about her success. Jake shows up and calls her the cat that ate the canary. The smile fades from her face ... Victor calls Phillip and demands an explanation while Xander tries to find more ... Charlie returns to the office, disheartened by what he witnessed ... Claire happily hopes they can try again. Theo blinks down at her ... Phil acts indignant. Victor warns that transfer better not be embezzlement. Phil reminds him he was already aware of that shell company they opened as part of the Mendelson deal. He assumes Xander was trying to make him look bad again. Victor will speak to him. Chad keeps criticizing Kate, who insists she and Jack were only two lost friends who leaned on one another. The secret was dead and buried until Abigail dug it up ... Gwen denies celebrating. Jake has not forgotten her claim to make it a 'night to remember.' Too coincidental she then came across that damning letter that destroyed Abigail’s world! Gwen gets sarcastic but he knows how wickedly far she would go. She mocks his conspiracy theories and exits. When Abigail appears, Jake notices she is not in the best shape. She blames herself for ruining the party and pouts about the letter. He probes how she found it ... Claire asks if it is serious. Theo has been with his lady for months and teases she must have many suitors. Matter of fact there is someone nice ... Xander the man about town admits Sarah used to despise him but was in denial. He tells Charlie to believe in the connection he feels with Claire. The road to true romance is bumpy. Tis time for Charlie to make his move! Xander ends his pep talk by boasting about his bliss ... In the grand Kiriakis living room phone Phillip lets his contact know he had a close call cos of Xander. The hothead will deal with him, shouts he is doing his best and hangs up. Sarah is standing in the doorway and innocently wonders if all is well. Phil smoothly covers. Just some deal roadblocks. She suggests he get help from Xander. He humors her and sips his red wine ... Charlie wonders what to do next. Xander suggests he wait for the girl to come to him ... Theo sits with Claire and asks all about her guy. She smiles his name is Charlie and he seems sweet. He wants to have dinner with her. Theo encourages her. She does not know if she is ready for something new. She fears another failed romance ... Chad defends Abigail, who was not herself. Kate admits she assumed no one would find that letter in the box hidden in her bedroom armoire ... Abigail reveals to Jake how she came across the letter that had fallen from the box in the armoire. Gwen suggested she look for some shoes in there. He questions the coincidence. Abigail defends her new bff. Dangerous drums play ... Xander is done with work and asks Charlie to file something for him. Then he gets the flowers from the trash for Sarah, smiles to keep the faith and leaves. Charlie sulks in the co-CEO chair ... Theo gives uncertain Claire a pep talk about putting oneself out there. They all have pasts so focus on the future. She should give Charlie a chance ... Jake agrees to keep his Gwen thoughts to himself. Abigail is grateful and then gets woozy again. He pours her more water and teases she will have a hangover in the morning. He happens to have the perfect cure to offer. They giggle and she agrees. But Gwen has been watching and listening ... Kate wants to sleep and hopes Abigail comes home soon. Chad too. She will help if he cannot find her shortly. Chad exits in a hurry. Gwen catches up with him in the hall and lets him know Abigail is downstairs. She smirks as he takes off ... Phil decides to head to bed and offers to see Sarah to her door. She smiles she finished this book and will start another while she waits for Xander. He wishes her luck. She says goodnight but her eyes mirror her suspicion ... Charlie is surprised to see Claire at the office. She smiles she got him a Frappuccino and asks about his work. He coldly claims he has a deadline and blows her off. She walks out with tears in her insecure eyes ... Sarah loves the flowers. Xander promises to keep her happy and wants to have dinner. He then warns her Phillip seems to be up to something. After he leaves for the kitchen, Sarah decides she too is up to something ... Kate goes to give Jake back his jacket.
