There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... At the club baristo Ben has a coffee on the house for Clyyyyyyde, to start repaying what he owes. Clyde brings up boss Chad, now the new co-CEO at DiMera. Ben gets sarcastic about his daddy handing the clown title and money. Clyde agrees, given his latest run-in with him. Ben polishes a glass and notes they don’t often agree. Clyde now confesses this coffee is nothing like the coffee at Annabelle’s back home and lets it slip how Kate looked when she took a sip. Ben seems to enjoy their banter. He feels his father is changing. Clyde claims he is trying to make things right with this therapy he is starting. Chad heads to the hospital asking after Jordan, He decides to burst in on her physical therapy session with Paul. She exercises his shoulder. He stands up and flirts. Enter the Chad. I KNOW YOU. Paul knows him too! He read about the heir apparent Chad in Sonics. Paul keeps flirting and Chad grimaces. Paul is amused as he apologizes. He had no idea they were an item. Chad wonders why he is even in the hospital. Jordan assures patient Paul that Chad will not reveal anything she tells him as he is on the board. Once the secret patient is gone, Chad wants to get to celebrating his promotion as the official heir apparent. They kiss and he teases her for spending secret alone time with the baseball star. Jordan informs him it is all hush hush or else the hospital loses a hefty donation. Chad feels sorry for the guy upon hearing he has a bad shoulder. If he loses baseball, poor Paul would pretty much lose his whole life … Kate storms into Marlena’s office, demanding an explanation. What the hell is up with Will! There have been no return phone calls or messages. He is ignoring his hubby! Marlena warns Kate if she butts in it might not end well, as in the past. Furthermore, it is too premature to assume anything, so she would be wise to step back. Kate haughtily departs after Marlena jokes perhaps she should send her a bill for the consultation. At the fallen father’s new apartment, Dan breathes to Eric this is about … Nicole. They are … friends again. Eric soap stares. Friends or more than friends? He fumes over their never ending attraction and offers his buddy a beer. He drinks up and wonders whether they will give romance another chance now that Dan is a free man. Dan is not planning anything at this point. First he needs to know if there is any chance of Eric giving Nicole another chance. He knows the fallen father is her first choice and would not want to stand in their way, if it was what he wanted as well. Eric glowers. He sits and explains he cannot get back together with Nicole now and appreciates the heads up. He appreciates the housewarming tool too. Dan thinks he has a great place. Eric quips it beats a seminary room. He now shows him a picture of Africa he came across. Dan wishes he could go back. He thanks him for the beer. Eric is glad they are good again and can discuss anything, though please no talk of Nicole. Dan’s lips are sealed and he heads out. Eric flashes back to Nicole sobbing he forgave everyone except her. He had sadly stated she was his heart, he trusted her, and she betrayed him. Eric has not forgotten … Mel is miffed to find towel Nicole at her father’s place. Ugh! Why is she there! She puts her hands on her hips and marches in, assuming the worst, that Dan and Nicole are – horror of horrors - an item again. Nicole denies it. They are friends again. She haughtily asks whether she was expected. She smiles to make herself at home and takes herself and the towel in the other room to get dressed. Mel opens the front door, nervously glances around, and closes it, locking it securely. So far so good, she has not been followed … Then she opens her purse, which is full of cash, and takes a deep breath. Jen is happy to be with Abi at home, celebrating their working together again. Most people have been supportive. Abigail stops and Jen tells her no worries, she can speak Dan’s name. They have tea together and Abi wonders why they are over. Jen changes the subject to how Abi got reinstated. Abi admits Chad got on the board, taking the DiMera seat, and made it happen. Jen suspects he was trying to make amends. Abi anxiously changes the subject. Jen notices her glow from another guy. Abi blushes she is a lucky girl. Jen gushes Ben is lucky. She is glad her girl has met someone who cares so deeply for her … Fully dressed Nicole waits at the door when Mel insists she has something to say. She will never believe Dan and Jen are over. She lists Nicole’s past transgressions. Nicole advises her to take it up with daddy. He will no doubt want to know why she came back too. Mel makes light of her return for family and friends and keeps checking her purse. Nicole wants the real reason for this impromptu return. Mel claims to want to raise daddy’s spirits and urges her not to spread the word about her surprise. Dan comes home and joyfully throws his arms around his girl. He is thrilled to see her face to face. Nicole excuses herself and Mel coos byyyyyye. Dan asks her reason for returning. First Mel wants answers about Nicole. Dan wants to get something straight between them. Miss Mel pouts. Nicole is his friend and he expects her to be nice. Father and daughter hug. He asks how long she intends to stay. FOREVER. Dan is flabbergasted. Mel hopes it is a nice surprise. Dangerous music plays. Dan starts to get the feeling she is in some kind of trouble … Ben comes looking for Jordan and finds her at the hospital physical therapy room. He also finds Chad, who is not impressed he is not at work! Ben questions how he came to memorize his schedule and leers he is working, making a delivery to the hospital, with whom the club has an account. Chad grins good work and excuses himself to attend to business. Ben taunts a corporate takeover must be way more important than delivering coffee. Chad will see his lady later and departs. Jordan blasts Ben for his rudeness. She reminds him what Rafe warned him about. He cannot risk losing control again! Chad may have been a bit curt but he has much on his mind. Ben hopes to see less of him and hands his sister her big coffee. He chuckles about Clyde saying Kate did not like their chicory coffee back home at Annabelle’s either. Ben takes his leave and Jordan wonders what in the world Kate was doing down in Poplar Bluff … Paul is sitting in his hospital bed when Marlena enters and greets him. He looks at her like she has two heads. Nicole and Maggie collide outside the pub. Maggie is surprised she knows Mel is in Salem, then muses she must have been at Dan’s place to know that. Nicole forces a smile. She and Dan are friends again. The redhead replies she is fine with it but ... Jen visits Eric and praises his new place, handing him a little housewarming cactus. But she is all business about the perfect pictures she wants for the new pediatric wing. She wants to make a splash, which would sock it to Madame Milbauer of HR infamy. Eric tries to catch up. Jen admits she and Dan are done. Eric lets her know Dan just came by. Jen is surprised. Eric notes he came by to discuss … Nicole. The smile fades fast from ponytail Jen’s face. Mel denies any wrongdoing. Father Dan fears she is in TROUBLE. Mel dismisses the notion. She decided to come home cos Gabi is gone and her friend is moving here. However, there is one tiny thing she needs his advice on … Paul is reading the article about Chad and politely thanks Marlena. His view when he was groggy from the anesthetic has not changed. He still requires no counseling. Marlena exits, sensing the sports star is in denial … Glam Kate warns Clyde she is in a foul mood when he approaches her at the square. He teases she is the meanest one in the valley and touches her face. Kate purrs he knows the perfect thing to say. Clyde goes on his way. Kate walks toward the pretty park. Jordan storms after her, stops her, and hisses they have to talk right here right now! Cool Ben approaches Abi at the club. He is still smarting about Chad and suggests they head out as his shift is done. Outside Abi asks what is the matter. He compliments her dress. She calls it a skirt, then gushes she told her mother about him and how happy they are. She suspects he will be invited for dinner soon. Ben starts to kiss her. Dr. Marlena is at her office, ready to start the session. The patient wants her to use his first name. Clyyyyde. At the park, Kate warns frustrated Jordan that new co-CEO Chad DiMera is waaaay out of her league … Chad is on his phone with board member Shin, eager to get started and share his vision and numerous ideas for the company … Eric explains Dan explained he and Nicole are back to being friends. Jen gasps it is good and would rather discuss something else. She has freelance work waiting for him and now notices the church picture hanging on the wall, the one he was staring at before she arrived. So many nice scenes from Africa. Why does he never talk about those years? … Maggie primly points out to Nicole that if she hurts Dan again, she will have to deal with HER. Nicole gets it … Dan has listened to Mel and decides she has the situation under control. She will be back soon and giggles her suitcases are being sent from the airport. She will return in three hours for dinner. She flounces out with a brave smile. Dan sighs and looks at his phone. Mel presses the elevator button, her eyes filled with dread … Someone slowly enters Paul’s room. He stops and feasts his eyes on the hospitality … Eric would rather not re-live some of the painful memories, though there were wonderful moments in between. He appears to get nostalgic about the beautiful Africa memories he would love to relive … Dan and Nicole discuss Mel at the pub. He thinks she will be fine with them, but not certain other things in Salem … Chad promises Shin he is going to make his father proud and live up to the DiMera name. Mel walks in and gives him a dark stare. It seems he is finally admitting to the kind of man he is – a DiMera … Ben escorts Abi to his place … Clyde confesses to Marlena that his daddy was a monster … Kate does not get Jordan’s new paranoia. What is she going to accuse her of this time? Jordan exclaims she knows she is responsible for bringing the psycho - aka Clyde - to Salem …! THE END Ahead on DAYS: Paul is pleased.
