Stylish Kate is at the square, speaking to phone Will about the sundress with pink leather sandals she shopped for great granddaughter Ari. Will sighs Sonny does not want her spoiled and he agrees. Kate notes then they are working things out since his return from Poplar Bluff??? Will feels they are in a good place. He ends the call when he hears a knock on the door. Kate also ends the call and realizes Hope has been listening. The dedicated detective would like to know what about Poplar Bluff. Kate admits Will was sent there to do a story. Hope probes the suspicious subject of Clyde. Kate claims Clyde is to her what Aiden is to Hope - a lover. She airily suggests a double dinner date and departs. Hope soap stares, suspicious of her motives for changing the subject ... Will opens the apartment door to Rafe, who bears a dress Gabi made for the birthday girl. Said birthday girl wakes up and gurgles so Will goes into the other room. Rafe sneaks a peak at the open computer and spies the writer's open files on Poplar Bluff ... At the club big Ben enjoys a coffee with Clyde. They discuss the family name and then Abigail. Ben admits he saw her with Chad and left without a word, fearing his temper would get the better of him. Clyde understands but advises him to fight however he has to to keep Abigail the good. He urges him to go to her ... As they stand by the summer tulips at the park, Abigail sighs she was too judgmental of Chad, though she still does not comprehend why he duped her. LOVE, says he ... Theresa is overwhelmed by mama Kim trying to tell her to return to L.A. with Tate even if the family lawyer is smoothing things over with the judge. Kim stands her ground, remembering how hard it is to be in the sphere of one Victor Kiriakis ... At her father's home, Brady has just knelt down with the engagement ring held out, romantically asking Melanie to marry him. She soap stares, states it was sweet, and then tells him to stand up and put the ring away. Brady frowns. This does not sound promising ... Back in her private hospital room, Theresa tells her mother that Brady, as the baby's father, does have rights. Kim sympathetically states he loves someone else. Theresa's face falls ... Rafe does not approve of Will doing the Clyde story he had warned him against ... Chad sighs he is slowly learning but believes Abigail deserves better than a DiMera like him. She scoffs she does not believe in the DiMera curse, then gets a call from Ben. Chad advises her to take it and walks away, much to her dismay. The disappointment is evident in her expressive eyes ... Rafe is holding Arianna the princess in his arms. Will updates him on how he planned to keep the story positive, even though one person had something less than kind to say about Clyde in Poplar Bluff. Rafe does not understand his about-face. Will confides how Clyde came to him and subtly threatened him as well as Gabi. Rafe grumbles about the bastard and morphs into detective mode ... Theresa and Kim are interrupted by the arrival of Caroline and Roman. The Brady matriarch gushes about the new baby whom she just saw. Madame Milbauer of HR infamy returns and realizes her friend needs help. She clears the room with an HR excuse and wonders what irks the new mom now ...Besotted Brady wants Mel to be his forever girl. She is touched and tells him there is no need to hurry. The main thing is for him to see his son daily. He agrees, adding her too. They both decide they can take things one day at a time for now and she agrees to stop keeping her distance from his son. There is no need for space. They kiss and she smiles she will go see Tate today. Brady will catch up with her after his conference call. And so Mel ventures into the lioness' den alone ... Will is relieved he has Rafe on his side cos Clyde spooked him ... Ben has Abigail on the phone and announces he would like to talk to her sooner rather than later ...Theresa fumes about her folks trying to take her back to California with Tate. Madame Milbauer mentions the fact that Brady is in love with Mel the enchantress. Theresa fumes even further until she gets a wicked idea ... Rafe is pleased Will is taking the princess to see Gabi in prison tomorrow. Will wants to find her bib. Rafe drawls he will let himself out but he pauses at the computer to take another look at those Clyde files ... By the summer tulips, Ben apologizes to Abigail and admits it angered him to see her with Chad. She had no idea and explains he had just learned of his sister's tragic death. Chad is sorry for him and embraces the fair Abigail ... At the apartment, Will has words with Chad, who is after information on his mission to Poplar Bluff. Will is evasive. Chad stands his arrogant DiMera ground, declaring DiMera bought Sonix. Will scoffs he set him up to get the goods on Clyde so Abigail would drop Ben, thus giving him a chance. Chad insists Zoe the editor made the call to feature Clyde. Will clearly has his doubts about the DiMera. Chad now demands all his files on Clyde. DONE! Chad is welcome to all of his research ... At the station, Hope is none too pleased to discover Rafe has been meeting with another detective. She summons him, convinced he is investigating Clyde. Rafe lies he made a sports bet but gets the date of the game wrong. Hope knows her Cubs ... Kate is a tad cranky when she joins Clyde at the club. It concerns Lucas, the fact that Will's wanton wicked mother-in-law has poisoned him against her. Clyde almost offers to help but Kate claims she will easily win against her foe. He seems to find her ruthlessness seductive ... Hope gives Rafe the evil eye and insists he tell her the truth about his investigation ... Kim uneasily asks to see Brady at the Kiriakis mansion. He is surprised to see her. She congratulates him on the baby, then asks how he thinks Theresa will fit into the picture of his future with his new son. Kim has an ominous feeling that the Kiriakis clan will not be so accepting of her daughter ... Mel arrives at the hospital to see Tate. As it turns out Theresa is with Anne in her room alone. Anne discreetly departs. Theresa grins she has got something to say. Mel smiles she already thanked her enough. Theresa gets a glint in her eye and declares this is going to be very different. Her mother came to Salem with news and the outcome will depend on Mel. Mel waits with bated breath but this does not look good. Theresa the terrible is up to her old tricks ...! THE END Ahead on Days: Mel loses either way! Serena is scared for Nicole. Brady butts heads with Kim. |
