There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... From the comfort of his living room, EJ cockily confirms he hired a hit man to kill cousin Nick. Abigail gasps how could he, he was a human, her cousin Nick! Hardly,snaps EJ. He would not have hesitated to expose their affair and would have destroyed her. Abigail slaps him across his handsome haughty face and accuses him of only caring to protect his DiMera posterior! She is horrified she actually slept with him, this man who played God with someone’s life. It must be because of her threat to tell all. She is to blame! EJ explains the process was already in motion … She becomes even more upset he coldly called it a process and decides to tell on him to Detective Hope. He grabs her as she tries to find her phone. She cries is he going to have her killed too?! EJ insists she shut up and listen. He forces her to look at the cash he had paid the hit man, the cash that was returned. See. His hit man did not do it! - At the Wilson apartment, a pretty pink party is underway. Baby Arianna has turned one! Mama Gabi holds her bouncy girl as proud papas Will and Sonny, grandma Sami, and great grandmas Kate and Marlena look on, admire, and applaud. Sonny is snapping pictures. Will is wearing a birthday party hat. Time for the presents! Amid the festivities, Kate quietly informs Sami that Lucas has not answered her text. They have no idea where oh where he could possibly be ... - Detective Hope continues her interrogation.She accuses suspect number one - Lucas - of lying, of meeting with Nick. He denies it. Hope knows for a fact he was in the park that night and believes he shot him too! Dirt from the park where Nick was shot matches the dirt on Lucas’ shoes and he is estimated to have been there exactly when Nick went down ... - Dan paces at his place, wondering why no contact from Eric or Nicole. He assures himself she told Eric as promised. He mutters Nicole would not lie and even seems to believe it ... - Eric is flabbergasted to find out friend Daniel loves Nicole. He thinks it makes no sense as he is happy with Jennifer. Nicole pretends she too was caught off guard by his declaration. Eric wants to know since when ... Ring ring! Eric now sees he has an incoming call from determined Daniel. Nicole urges him not to answer but he does. Dan gasps is he with Nicole? - Marlena enjoys her cake with Gabi and asks how she is feeling. Much better. However, she will never get why Nick made it so hard for them all to get along. Marlena smiles that Gabi's baby girl is safe now and loved just like Gabi. Gabi gushes she is almost done finals and also has a photo shoot lined up. She just loves their little family and gazes at both Will and Sonny with the baby. Marlena now talks to Sami. Woman in red Sami is worried about Ali but Marlena the emotional healer assures her she is strong just like her. She is grateful Ali has Sami and Sami is grateful they both have Marlena. Marlena smiles a beautiful smile and wishes the birthday girl a happy day before exiting ... Diva Kate sits with Gabi and baby and thanks her for the new improved custody agreement. All Gabi wants is for her daughter to be surrounded by those who love her. Nearby Sonny the photographer gushes to Will that his out of town parents (visiting their other sons) loved the pictures. Will only wishes he knew where Lucas was ... EJ is not present either. Unsuspecting Sami states he has much on his plate. Gabi admires Kate's sparkling diamond necklace. Kate will only reveal it came from an admirer. Sami scowls and takes Kate out for a chat. She knows exactly what that means ...! - Back at DiMera mansion, Abigail gasps there is one lie after another and another spewing from EJ's mouth! He impatiently points out he had no motive in bringing her here. She suggests he did so in order to make her change her mind about reporting him. EJ solemnly states the hit man knew the dangers of crossing a DiMera, which is why he returned the funds. She quips why should she believe him now! He sighs she said she knew when he was lying and insists he did not get Nick killed. It was someone else. The girl gasps that changes nothing, the fact that someone just got there first. EJ is guilty of wanting him dead and it was not right! EJ growls Nick deserved it, given how he provoked people. Who in all of Salem did not want him dead?! - Eric pauses, politely tells desperate Dan that he and Nicole are having an important discussion, and ends the call. Dan deduces she did come clean and now gets a call from Chloe. He has Parker's toy cars and agrees to send them express. Off he goes with his keys, grateful to get his mind of the Nicole drama. - Meanwhile the Nicole drama continues ... Eric whispers to please tell him. Please just tell him what is going on. - Lucas thinks he can explain. His excuse is that he wore his shoes at the park on an earlier day. Hope solemnly states his shoe dirt was a perfect match and persists. She demands he tell the whole truth and nothing but! - At the town square, apologetic Dan collides with Marlena in blue outside a store. They talk children. Marlena muses it is hard to let go especially if one feels one has let one’s child down. Dan hopes she is alright. Marlena is not really sure and asks to have a word about Eric. - Sami glares daggers at Kate in the hallway and things get loud. Inside Will and Sonny speculate, as does nervous Gabi. Bickering Sami and Kate come back inside and Sami is sorry for the drama. Sami says her friendly goodbyes except to Kate, that is. She asks Will to come by the house for the present when possible. Will sees her and Kate’s truce is now over . Sami refers to her as a witch and waltzes out. Kate sweetly offers the gang more cake. - Nicole continues to spin her wicked web of deceit. She lies that Dan said he loved her and it is complicated. Eric thinks it makes no sense, however. Nicole notes love never makes sense. Daniel admitted his old feelings came to the surface when they worked together against Chyka. She adds they kissed one time before she and Eric got back together. He asks if she has feelings for him. No, she loves only Eric, which is why they must do as follows .... - Ominous music plays in the dimly lit office of Detective Hope Brady. Lucas quietly promises to tell the truth. He only got to the park after Nick had been fatally shot. That was the sequence. Hope frowns and asks for the exact time he was at the park. He knows not but Nick was bloody and not moving. She asks why he did not contact the cops. He gasps he assumed he was dead. Hope bitterly asks if it would have mattered. Would he have left him to die if he knew he was not?! - EJ argues the truth could hurt innocents. Abigail quips they are not so innocent. EJ does not deny it. However, Abigail’s brotha and motha are innocent, as are his beloved children. They, on the other hand, must live with this for the rest of their lives. She numbly agrees and announces she wants to leave now. EJ opens the living room door. There stands Sami, who pleasantly ponders Abigail’s reason for being here with her almost husband ... - Marlena sits with Dan at the outdoor café and mentions Nicole as a person of interest. Dan notes Nicole is his friend. Marlena explains she may have judged her too harshly . Little does she know ... - Nicole pretends to defend Dan the confused one. They cannot let Jen know. This infatuation will pass, she is certain. That is why they should keep their distance from Daniel. Then he will know he loves only Jen. She wants herself and Eric to run away to Vegas and stay away! - Sami assumes sweet Abigail is checking on Ali and is touched. Abigail plays along, then lets Sami walk her out. EJ gets a call and wonders WHEN it happened. He orders his contact to keep him posted and sighs. Ominous music plays. - Lucas regrets he did not call for help. Hope bitterly states Nick would not have made it even with a doctor. Lucas is somewhat relieved and gasps he is innocent. She mutters it still does not look good and goes over the timeline. He simply must have been at the park prior to Nick’s shooting. He admits he went somewhere else before the park. Where? To get a gun! - Dan soulfully sips his coffee. Marlena explains she could not get over Eric not being exonerated. It is possible she turned her frustration onto Nicole, who was actually trying to prove Eric’s innocence, She has had a change of heart and will support their union. Dan drawls why tell him this and diverts his gaze. Marlena sighs she is sorry she questioned Nicole’s loyalty and had suspicions about the Chyka escape. Dan dramatically declares there is absolutely no reason for her to be sorry! Marlena soap stares, sensing something is not quite right ... - Eric is exasperated Nicole wants him to leave behind his roots in Salem, his large family, his many friends. She talks extended honeymoon and then mumbles she could use a fresh start. Eric refuses to run away all because of Dan’s conflicted feelings. He suspects there is more, as Nicole also has issues with his mother and sister. Nicole now adds Dan asked her to postpone the wedding. That does it! Eric intends to confront him but Nicole stops him. - Back at the party, Kate perches the pink birthday baby on her lap. Gabi admires the pearl necklace present and gushes it is too much. Will puts his arms around Sonny and teases Kate about her own extravagant necklace. She coyly confirms it is from Stefano, as is the flashy ring. Will gasps oh my God! Kate insists they are not actually back together. Will and Sonny get sarcastic. With someone like Stefano DiMera, what could go possibly wrong. Not like he ever collects on his debts huh?! - On the DiMera doorstep, Sami thanks Abigail again for making her art smart. However, she wishes she had not wasted her valuable time. The honeymoon in Italy is not in the picture and the wedding will have to be postponed. Abigail is surprised. Sami suggests she invite her new friend the bartender when the new date is set. She gushes she feels like she is family and embraces her. - Nicole claims not to want to cause conflict.Eric promises to only discuss with Dan. Nicole thinks it is premature and asks him to text instead, tell him he could use a few days to take it all in before they talk. Eric agrees and gets to texting. Nicole nervously waits. - Dan starts to say Marlena need not apologize for looking out for her son, then gets a call. Marlena thanks him for the chat and goes on her way. Dan reads the text on his phone and wonders whether it came from Eric or Nicole the deceiver. - Eric yearns to clear his clouded head and opts for a walk. Before he goes, Nicole swears him to secrecy to protect the innocent Jen. Eric is dismayed about keeping any secrets. They always blow up in one’s face. Then he gasps he loves Nicole and walks out. Nicole looks at herself in the mirror and tells herself to stay the course,see this scheme through. Now to make Dan believe she confessed to Eric! - Sami returns to find EJ working at his computer. He amiably asks about Arianna’s first birthday party. He is sorry he was unable to attend. Sami snaps it was fine and complains about Kate being showered with jewelry from Stefano. EJ examines his papers and points out as per Kate, she is not even interested in fatha phoenix. Sami pours herself water from a blue bottle and suspects Stefano will want something big time. EJ drawls Kate, as it turns out, will soon have even bigger problems. According to his person at the Salem P.D. Hope is interrogating Lucas as they speak. Her blue eyes filled with dread, she asks EJ if he thinks Lucas might have killed Nick ... - Lucas admits he procured a gun at his mother’s house, unbeknownst to her, then proceeded to the park. His mindset was that Nick had arranged a court date to make good on his threat to take Will's daughter from him. Hope wants to know where that gun is Lucas replies he tossed it into the Salem River and then returned to the town square. Knock knock! A uniformed officer respectfully hands Hope the report she was waiting for. The detective starts to read the report, stops, and gives Lucas a strange stare ... - Nicole seeks Dan at the hospital but his shift starts later. And so she calls the medicine man instead. He sees her incoming call at the town square but ignores it. Nicole leaves him a voice mail to call and wonders where or where he could be ... - Drums play as Daniel spies Eric at the square and approaches. He thinks they need to talk sooner rather than later. Eric solemnly agrees and stares him down. The drums grow louder ...! THE END |
