Chad leaves father an urgent message as he needs to hear from him that he has not harmed Marlena, she is alright ... Meanwhile Marlena is seated on the DiMera jet across from the phoenix. He taunts he is NOT taking her to Salem since she murderrrred Kristen ... At the square John greets his son, who snaps at him for being such a hypocrite. John realizes something happened and pauses as Paul glares at him ... As Eve drowns in self-pity on her sofa, Paige blinks at the bubbly party people who have just wished her a happy birthday at Horton house. JJ hugs his girlfriend and wonders why the long face. Paige tries to find the words. The guests withdraw to the living room, realizing she is overwhelmed ... Kayla quietly informs Jen she does not seem to like surprises ... Eve opens her knocking door not to Paige as she had been hoping, but to Cole ... JJ gently tells Paige she can confide in him no matter what it is. She smiles strangely and wonders about that. Then she goes silent again. JJ insists they can fix it together. She inhales not here not now. Rory comes to show her what he got on his camera of her funny expression. Daphne assures Paige she supports her moving away with JJ. Jen offers the girl a glass of water. Paige takes a deep breath, deciding she is ready to face the crowd ... Marlena looks Stefano directly in the eye and reminds him Kristen intended to kill them. Her death was an accident and she was having a psychotic episode. Stefano snaps about John and Marlena killing her spirit so many years ago. The phoenix has not forgotten the past. He never does ... Paul talks tough with John about bugging him to give up on his one true love, whereas John romanced Marlena on a boardroom table once upon a time, hurting Roman and Sami in the process. John gathers someone has spoken to him. Paul admits it was Will ... Sonny finds Chad in the club office. Chad is sorry he has not been around. Sonny understands. Chad suggests Sonny having to deal with Paul back in town must be hard. Sonny updates him on the Will attack ... As the guests watch with glee, JJ declares his love for Paige all over again. Eerie music plays in the background. Abigail excitedly lights the candles and hands JJ the cake to give his dream girl. He starts to until Paige unexpectedly slams it to the floor with a wild NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The cake is now as flattened as her hopes for the future Paul makes John realize that hiding his true feelings for Marlena all those years ago did not prevent people from getting hurt so why should he hide his feelings for Sonny? John drawls it is different as Sonny has emphatically stated he does not share his feelings and has moved on. Paul questions that and takes off. John gets a tear in his eye, torn ... Stefano's mind games continue as he pretends to order his suited thug to finish Marlena once and for all. She struggles and protests. Stefano delights in the desperate display ... Eve lets clueless Cole know it is over and JJ has enough to put him away. He pouts then she could be put away as well ... JJ and the guests watch with bewilderment. Paige screams like a banshee that JJ is a LIAR and slaps him across the face so hard his head almost falls off. JJ's head comes back up and he asks what is the matter. Paige rages she knows what he did, that he slept with her mother. The guests are stunned into silence ... Marlena has been deposited at the pretty Salem park with her purse and a dead cell phone. She holds her head high and goes on her way. At the square, she walks right into John's arms .... Stefano now stares at Chad on his private plane and points out he did not appreciate his threats ... JJ accuses Eve of lying. Paige accuses JJ of lying and hisses she overheard everything they said ... Dan glances at Jen .... John drawls hey doc and she is happy for the hug ... Chad states his case to Stefano. He convinced the cops that his father would do the honorable thing and let Marlena go. However, they did not overhear his threat to denounce him. He was desperate to do the right thing. Stefano snaps the family must stay strong, hence his thirst for revenge ... Paul finds Sonny at the club patio. Sonny is curt. Paul wants to explain ... Eve has harsh words for Cole and advises him to leave town. She turns over the table and he finally gets the message ... Abigail assumes it is not true. Paige dares JJ to tell everyone. Pause. Maggie turns away in revulsion. Even Rory is horrified ... JJ numbly states he loves Paige. She scoffs he does not know the meaning of that word. Jen steps forward and urges Paige to stop. Paige rages her son is a liar and that is all she can say? Jen hangs her head. Paige screams she knew too. Jen cannot deny it. Dan shakes his head. Abigail surveys the scene ... Chad reasons sister Kristen had lost her mind. They are the only family now. Stefano solemnly states he would do anything for his son but does he return the sentiment??? ... John worries what is wrong with Marlena. She assures him she is fine now but Stefano ... John had no idea ... Marlena insists she is alright and smiles to please get her mind off her incident. How are Paul and Brady and baby? John gushes his grandson is Tate. However, things got intense with Paul ... Paul suspects Will did not tell Sonny the whole truth. He lost his cool cos Will called his mother a HO ...Paige screams Jennifer and Eve are exactly the same and runs out. JJ faces the accusing stares for a few seconds and then follows. Dan directs Rory and Daphne to the door. Daphne wants to find and help her friend. Rory promises to repeat nothing to anyone and assures Dan he will not release any of his VIDEO ... Maggie offers her condolences to Jen and goes out with Kayla. Dan the diplomat remains in the room. Jen falls to the floor on her knees. Abigail asks for an answer ... Sonny explains Will has been having a tough time. Paul would rather discuss THEM ... John has just updated the woman he loves on what Paul said. She whispers if Sonny and Paul fight their feelings the same way they did ... John finishes it will be a big mistake ... Sonny sighs there is nothing between them. Paul touches his hand and dares him to look him in the eye and say he does not love him ... Chad assures Stefano he can count on his support. The father grins and slyly states he is coming back to Salem in a couple of weeks. Meantime, he advises his son to fight for Abigail. Chad wonders why the interest ...Abigail is upset that her mother knew all along what JJ had done ... Outside, Dan admits to Maggie he did the math a while back. Jen is going to need her cos everyone knows now ... Eve leaves her daughter a desperate message about loving her and them finding their way back. Then she touches the baby in the framed photograph ... JJ follows Paige to the park and begs her to wait. She turns to him, her eyes filled with despair and sobs why why why did he do it?!
