There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... At Dan's apartment, the moralistic medicine man has threatened to tell Eric the truth. Nicole tries to make off with the Chyka papers, then gasps when she throws open the door to Jen and Eric and their champagne. Eric wants to know what troubles her. Pause. Eric reminds her why she ventured there, to share their happy engagement news. Nicole forces a smile. Jen wonders what may have occurred. Nicole nervously glances at Dan. - Ben kisses ponytail Abigail at the park and she liiiiiiikes it! They give each other a dreamy look and kiss again. But Ben pulls away. He cannot do this! Abigail wonders why not. He feels like he is taking advantage of her state of grief over her cousin. She calls him sweet. He gushes he likes her. She gushes she likes him too. - In her office, Hope interrogates calm Kate, who admits she owns a handgun but these days who doesn't? It is legally registered, as she is sure Hope already knows. Hope asks if she had it on her person when Nick was shot. No but if she had, she might have been tempted to use it! - Lucas has brought Ali back to the mansion from her meeting with the child psychiatrist. Sami offers her cookies but the girl would rather get to her game and goes from the foyer to the living room. Lucas thinks she is doing alright but Sami doubts she will ever get over the horror of what she witnessed! Lucas explains the shrink said children have their own way of processing such things so they must be patient. He is way more worried about Will. Sami gasps surely he cannot believe their Will shot Nick? Lucas takes a deep breath. - EJ's hit man is lurking in the shadows at the town square, watching oblivious EJ. EJ spies Sonny and notes he does not look well. Sonny thinks that should not surprise him and points to the place where bullet riddled Nick collapsed. He remembers Will and turns around in torment. EJ peers at him. SONNY? - At the pub, Marlena suspects Will wanted to share something with her. He flashes back to Sonny's gun as she assures him he can confide in her about anything. She can wait. Will flashes back to Sonny confessing he had planned to shoot Nick with the gun and now states he feels guilty for being glad about Nick being dead. That was all he had on his mind. - Nicole confirms she and Dan did discuss the engagement, but then ... Eric concludes the conversation tuned to Nick's murder. He is not surprised, given how distraught Dan's mother Maggie was. Dan admits that is true, she is distraught. Eric realizes this might not have been the best day to announce their engagement. Nicole pretends that is all it was. A timing issue. Dan steps up and declares that is actually NOT what had them so riled up. Eric wants an explanation. Jen looks worried. - Hope reminds Kate the recorder is still on. Kate quips she did not kill Nick but what about his pals from prison?! Hope notes Kate hired Nick twice so what made her want to kill him? She refuses to say and goes on her diva way. Hope stares into space. - Abigail's phone rings and she informs Ben she has been summoned to the station for questioning. - Lucas assures anxious Sami no, he does not think Will shot Nick, and follows his daughter into the living room. He tenderly tells the tormented game playing Ali that he will see her soon. She does not seem to notice anything but the game she is clutching in her small hands. - Sonny informs EJ of his conversation with Hope. He also heard from Gabi that she wants him to draw up a custody agreement. Evidently some good did come out of what happened. EJ does not deny it. He feels he will be able to come up with a document that is fair. - Before Marlena can continue her conversation with Will, she gets a text from Sami to please come over to the house. Will suspects Marlena the psychologist will need to be treating their family for a while and says so. He thanks her for listening and helping and saunters off. Marlena seems to sense he has not been entirely forthcoming but keeps her silence in her usual gracious manner. - Sonny is deep in thought on the sofa when Will returns home to the apartment. Gabi has taken Ari out so they are alone. Sonny updates him on the cop hauling him in for questioning prior to him putting back the gun. He assures anxious Will he was not seen and now warns him the cops are going to question him as well. Will stares at him with his steely blue eyes and admits he already went to the police, to let them know he had threatened to kill Nick. Sonny's dark eyes are filled with dramatic dismay. - Hard working Detective Hope is pouring herself a much needed coffee when Commissioner Roman pops in for an update. The lab is attempting to reconstruct the bullet. Hope sighs so far she has too many variables and too many suspects. Nick had his fair share of enemies ... - Marlena arrives at the mansion and desperate Sami implores her to speak with Ali, who is repeatedly playing that gopher game. She gasps she must head out for a work matter and blames herself for Ali having to witness Nick's shooting. Marlena notes no one could have predicted what would happen to Nick that fateful night. - Nicole admits she and Dan were indeed into something intense and she was about to walk out. She asks Eric and Jen to give them a little more time. Eric does not understand. Nicole ushers him into the hall to explain. She will fix this impasse with Dan and then elaborate. He now becomes worried about leaving her. Inside, Dan is distant when Jen notes he does not look very happy about Nicole and Eric's engagement. His jaw is tight and he is evasive. Eric enters with Nicole and announces that he and Jen should give Dan and Nicole a moment to work this out. Jen agrees to take a walk and they exit. They head for the park and Jen notes Dan’s tense jaw showed the level of his anger. Dan usually supports Nicole, whether it is a good idea or not ... Nicole closes the door. Dan gives her a dirty look. She laments she risks losing Eric over this. Dan reminds her how he loved being a priest. She should not have lied to him about the most important thing in his life. Nicole moans if only he had not gotten those papers, then they would all be happy. Dan the man grabs them back and emphatically announces nothing will change that now! Nicole snatches the papers from him again. Dan drawls she knows what she has to do. He adds she risked her life to get that proof. It would reinstate Eric in his chosen vocation! Nicole gets glum. Dan is extremely concerned about her impulsive behavior but believes she would not want to live a lie. He urges her to do the right thing. She snaps Eric would hate her if he knew this. Besides, did Dan not lie for JJ? He rages that is not the same. She begs him to let it slide. Dan refuses to budge. She begs him not to tell Jen. She will tell Eric but she needs time. Dan fears they are already out of time. Nicole has something in mind. - Lucas sits at a pub table with mama Kate, still concerned about Ali. She assures him that his daughter is tough. He is curious about the case. Kate confirms she was questioned by Hope but makes light of it. She makes light of telling Hope she herself would have liked to pull the trigger! Lucas scowls. - In her office, Hope has gone over Julie's statement and knows for a fact that Abigail and Nick argued when they last spoke. She requests the girl enlighten her on the nature of the argument. Abigail flashes back to Nick calling her EJ DiMera's HO and hangs her head in shame. Hope wonders what is the matter. - Sami agrees to stop blaming herself and takes Marlena in to see Ali, who is seated next to solemn EJ on the sofa. Both EJ and Sami have guilt written on their faces as Sami tells her silent daughter she will be back soon, kisses her, and gasps she loves her. Marlena takes it all in. After Sami is gone, Marlena tries to talk to the little girl. She gets upset at the idea of taking a nap when EJ notes she is fatigued. Marlena calms her down. - Will wonders why Sonny is suddenly so quiet. They sit on the sofa and Sonny sighs he cannot fathom why Will would confess to the cops about threatening Nick. Will points out Rafe the cop bore witness to the run-in and would also be questioned by the cops. Rafe does not lie. Sonny worries now the cops will not let this go. Will, however, feels that they have no proof against either of them now that the gun is back at the Kiriakis mansion. They are in the clear ... - Abigail gasps she is just upset that she and Nick were arguing. She tells the tale of being tricked into giving him the name of a good lawyer to use against Will. Aiden. Hope now wants to know who she was with last night. Ben. Ben who? Abigail admits she does not know his last name. - EJ steps into the garden to speak to Samantha on the phone. She is presently at the town square. He assures her that togetha they will see Ali through this, not to worry. Sami promises to be back soon and goes on her way, unaware she is being tailed by EJ's hit man for hire! - Nicole calls Eric at the park and asks him to meet her at her room. She now claims she was insensitive when she told Dan about her happy news, given he is still nursing that bullet wound he got because of her. She considers Dan a great friend. Jen asks Eric to pass on the message that she will now go back to Dan's place. So be it. Nicole ends the call. She promises Dan that as per their agreement, she will tell Eric everything tonight. She has until the morning. Dan opens his arms to embrace her but she coldly walks out. - Sonny tenderly takes Will by the hand and vows to protect him, Will shares the sentiment and they both chuckle about their wedding vows including for better or for worse. This must be the worse part! They exchange heartfelt I love yous and a kiss.. - Hope holds up a photograph of Ben and Abigail in deep conversation. She notes they seem close and yet she knows not his last name? Abigail admits she does not. Hope would like to know whether this Ben was acquainted with the late Nick. Abigail says they met. Hope asks if they were friendly and Abigail admits based on what she saw, not exactly. Hope keeps digging until Abigail blurts out Ben came to her defense when she and Nick were arguing. Hope demands she tell her what Ben did. He told Nick not to talk to her ... like that ... Hope asks if she felt threatened by Nick. Abigail did indeed, due to his rage. Hope now tells honey she is free to go. Once alone, the dedicated detective takes out a photograph of Lucas with a weary sigh. - At the pub, Lucas is highly stressed over Hope knowing that Kate owns a gun. Mama Kate assures him there is nothing to be worried about. But Lucas remembers texting Nick when he was at the park, where he ended up getting shot, and frowns. - Sami gets off her phone by the town gate after pleasantly promising to pdf a contract. Dangerous music plays as the hit man walks menacingly towards her. - At the club, Ben is clearing a table when ponytail Abigail appears. He wonders how it went. She sadly states Hope the detective witnessed him at the hospital with her and wanted his name. She did not know his last name. He grins it is Rogers. She is sorry she also told the detective how he defended her to Nick. Ben has no regrets about that. Abigail gets a faraway look in her eye. - Kate sits at her luxurious desk, opens a drawer, and realizes her gun box is unlocked, the gun gone. "Oh my God." she whispers. - Back at the office, Hope is getting tired. Suspect Lucas saunters in to face the music ... - EJ places a blanket on sleeping Ali on the sofa as Marlena watches. Ali has a nightmare about seeing Nick fall with bloodied bullet wounds and wakes up with a blood curdling scream. - Sami turns to leave but the horrible hit man grabs her with a growl. NOT SO FAST! - Jen rejoins Dan at the apartment. She does not understand what has changed between him and Nicole. Dan would rather not discuss Nicole right now. She thinks they do not need to talk at all and they share a sweet kiss. - Nicole nervously paces in her room and touches her new treasured engagement ring. Then she removes it altogether and blinks back a few tears. Knock knock! She opens her door to the holy man she loves and he looks at her with longing ... THE END! |
